I grew up in an abusive home and the first part of my life was chaotic. Now I am 46 I really want to leave a positive imprint on the world. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in my 20s and wish I had guidance through it. I wish to start a local mentoring program whereas we help young men with everyday things that were not usually taught in our less fortunate communities. Things such as financial responsibility, cognitive behavior. Being told my first part life that I wasn't going to amount to anything and a plethora of other insults has played a part on my mental confidence. I don't know where to start but I believe knowing that this is my purpose is a good beginning. I have always had a knack for connecting with the younger generation. However due to my past , I do not qualify to join any programs. My felonies prohibit me. Nothing major whereas I have to register, just past mistakes such as larceny drug possessions etc. That was over 10 yrs ago and since my last incarceration I have found the eastern philosophies has helped turn my life around. I want to give back. I want to help young men from going down the same path I did.
