Memorial Day Weekend at Grant Lake

Expect the unexpected. This memorial weekend the plan was to overland at Leavitt Lake. Unfortunately, the gate to Leavitt was closed not sure why, we presume it's the weather. Anyways, we moved on to plan B and wrnt to Grant Lake. It was empty and we had the place to ourselves lol. We had a blast minus the gusty winds. All is good, and just really realized to have other options. 'Til next adventure!

I’m going to be camping at this exact lake in about a month. Couple of questions for you:
1. Was it windy throughout the night? 2. Did any forest service rangers give you trouble for being on the “lake bed” area?

The wind was more gusty winds on and off, but when the gusts hits it was prettys strong. No rangers went because we were in the designated area where you can camp. You'll see it there are stake borders where camping is allowed.
