This is the kind of performance that takes tons and tons of time dedicated to experimenting, practicing routines, etc. Incredibly impressive and indicative of what the world could be like if everyone were given the opportunity to pursue their passion to the fullest. Imagine a world where everyone could create so freely like this.
Yooooo the second track is fucking awesome. I'm an all-around fan of Deantoni and his Technoself projects. I like that no two performances are exactly the same. I like hearing him find a cool sound or phrase and push/explore it. I think it's awesome that his keyboard is like an extension of his drum kit. Love the subtle changes in his hits.
That's actually a really simple yet elegant way of playing sample based music live. I suppose its just like playing samples on a launchpad, but I feel like he's bringing extra virtuosity to it. maybe the keyboard layout has something to do with that
Alex Davidson Bryan I guess the fact that he's a world class drummer plays a major role there? it's performance based music (forget about launchpad and keyboard layout)
I know that it may seem weird since it's an ableton event, but last year Loop was more of an "all round" music workshop, rather than a way to promote Live
nah he's not. guys, why would he use two software for a sampler? I think you're overcomplicating the setup :) anyway, we'll know sooner or later; I was at loop last year, ( I actually was in the audience watching deantoni parks) and it's been a very "open" event, welcoming every type of software and ideas. (apart from NI, fuck NI)
got to hang with deantoni a couple time in the early 2000s when he was playing with kudu & meshell ndegeocello. what a badass! & gave a green nobody like me the time of day to hang & play some. what a radical performance! thanks, D !
Love the builds ups and breaks with just snare hits back into full beats and keeping different time with the hi hat than with the right hand. Very complicated shit.
I was really impressed With synchronized sound sources, I am happy to know the musicality that I can not express! My eyes and ears are very comfortable now ヽ( ´ o ` )ノ haha
As all the "new" thing that comes out in art, mostly are very repetitive and focused on a one, simple concept, but very deep. IMHO I think Deantoni is making a step forward in the way we look the music, but more in the way we look the drums and how we play it. :)
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer it is. I loved his stuff as soon as i heard it, but have only finally checked out his live. Dude meshes man and machine seamlessly..
Recommendation only: check out EXCHAMPION (or, respectively, 3xch4mp.ion): ruclips.net/video/YBujwuNTYDE/видео.html // ruclips.net/video/iUiX6tS7kaQ/видео.html And yes, he does all of this solo onstage. I've seen it. It's truly incredible at times.
Ableton Live is perfect for instant looping... The intro is nice with all the keys and drums playing but maybe make some midi loops on the fly and then using both arms to get a groove starting... I don't know...
Drilldoughzer The CV Slave there's a lot more variation when played by hand and interplay. Otherwise it would have static moments, and any point of repetition would be less meaningful. Sounds good with my eyes closed. Don't be fooled by your expectations of virtuosity. They can take away from something that's enjoyable.

The fill after 9:46 belongs in the drum fill hall of fame.
Yeah! That fill changed my life for a few years! 😂
A JD Beck interview led me here and I am psyched.
ditto
Same
Same
sameeeeee
ohhhh dudes. check out zach danziger, Josh Dion and KJ Sawka next
Starting at 6:11 is one of the most amazing performances I have ever heard.
Yeah I came here to type this...so good.
You called it my man
yea i wish i could get this on cd
Loved it from the Bjork splices on.... monster! LOVE what he's doing!
Funny it’s an Ableton video, but there’s clearly logic on his laptop
Jajajajaj yep
Haha you right😂
Lol
„A summit for music makers“, not live users 🎶👌🏼
Was gonna say this lol

I love that fake out where he makes you think he's going to hit the snare, but he doesn't.
I skip over so much music even good stuff doesn’t keep my attention long these days. Watched this full video and captivated. Great work!
this is my favorite video on youtube, thank you Deantoni
that part from 8:45 to 10:00 nearly made me fall out of my chair. mindblowing stuff
he straight cut up a single 2 second vocal melody from Windowlicker and used it as a basis for this. that's insane.
Bjork Homogenic? Aphex Windowlicker? I have a doubt :)
Anyway that's insane, I totally agree with this!
Björk - Joga
if anyone's wondering about the second piece :)
Omg it totally is thank you
I’ve watched this video some many times through out the years, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and heard. Wish they would put it on Spotify.
I return to this, an iconic moment In drumming and electro glitch history.
That fill right after the 11:00 mark made me shout out loud!
Once in a while I like to come back to this video. Always satisfying and inspiring.
same
no man im in disbelief this is really really too good. real inspiration right here. thank you
haven't heard Deantoni play in over 5 years... What have I been doing? Sidenote: He is jacked
i feel like im in a MRI machine
Thank you.... I knew it reminded me of something.... Now I may have to get an MRI to assess the brain damage watching it may have caused .......
This dude should work with DOOM
RIP
Everyone should have worked with DOOM.
Bro... Bro. :'o
RIP DOOM ALL CAPS
always coming back to this performance. This is 🔥 !!!!
Simply amazing. Can't believe my ears. Hat's off!

the bjork bit was so good.
Amazing work. A very imaginative composition.
Coolest stuck CD player + drummer EVER🤗
Deantoni drums a lot for the incredible John Cale. Two musical masters.
Tight and different. I like it! Especially from 6 min. mark. Wow! He's awesome.
Amazing... I wish I could see him live !
This is getting addictive......mind blown.
9:20 is my favorite part throughout!!
Kinda makes me think of Steve Reich, that bit... Different Trains, maybe
5 years later it’s still busting
That's LogicProX!!!
His a genius how he had this idea is simply amazing love him
Ableton but why is he using Logic Pro X. strange
KGH I think he using it for mixing outs in rewire mode
nah, why would he do that? he's simply playing a sampler from logic :) dead simple
I know that it may seem weird since it's an ableton event, but last year Loop was more of an "all round" music workshop, rather than a way to promote Live
KGH again, he's not rewiring anything..
nah he's not. guys, why would he use two software for a sampler? I absolutely love Kudu. I saw Deantoni play with The Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group in 2013, he's a beast
Love the builds ups and breaks with just snare hits back into full beats and keeping different time with the hi hat than with the right hand. Very complicated shit.
I was really impressed

ヽ( ´ o ` )ノ haha
Holy shit, he was in The Mars Volta??
Yup! Sure is/was!
Not really...he was in the omar Rodriguez-Lopez group.
he played drums on the last Mars Volta album Noctourniquet
KidAAlvarez damn! I knew that...thought it was thomas pridgen for some reason...
he was in both biatch!"!

You guys are ridiculous, this is incredible.
still love your work!!
awesome vid
Amazing - mesmeric and totally captivating - loved it
Parks > metronome
It really is incredible.
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer it is. I loved his stuff as soon as i heard it, but have only finally checked out his live. Dude meshes man and machine seamlessly..
LEGEND BEAT ENABLED
very good work, thanks for sharing it
Window Licker sample...
Pedro Nuno Trigueiro de Sousa oh shit that box? really? hahaha noice
Thats last part was fire !
that's awesome! so creative.
Absolutely the best.
Caught a BOSNIAN RAINBOWS show at The Red 7 in Austin Texas. It was dope asssffffff....
I name all my video game characters after Deantoni Parks
Like, nut drum fuck?
This is fucking beautiful. I wish I was there witness it live.
somebody arrest this man for he has assaulted my eardrums with sounds i can’t comprehend
Whenever people say that multitasking isnt possible Im going to show them this video.
Hiya! less bring it back! I wanna learn, I wanna attend!
This is on Ableton's youtube but it looks like he is using logic pro lol
Extraordinary!

HOLY SHIT THIS IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL
fooking skillz, this is music !
Wowzers
I get what he's doing but as a drummer, I like the Tony Verderosa approach where he plays the samples and loops in the drumming.
Do people not get that the length of the different parts were intentional? If you get angry that's your problem. Not the artist.
THIS WAS SO COOL
amazing
still love it!!
Lots of potential I found that very cool
Deantoni is deep.
Amazing !!!!
love it!!
Fire brother
See that's what I call a Unison midi chord pack right here
3:20 it gets dope
thought he was using ableton's slice to new midi track feature, but its logic, yea? they have that feature too then?
its a cool venture for him to explore one man banding. i liked him better with the Mars Volta of course. He's a fucking beast drummer nonetheless.
bro's using logic at the ableton event lol
fucking amazing dude!!!
Ghaaaaayyydddd DAAAAAMN!!! 👀!!!
The Triple Time parts are dope.
D is the man!
Anyone know what keyboard that is?
so fucking dope....whats the last track?
Sick!
This is genius
can anyone tell me the name of that little keyboard machine thingy he playing with?
looks like an Arturia Minilab, but any midi controller would work. The sounds don't come from the keyboard though, it just samples from the computer.
The beginning esp was really cool. Imagine trying to remix this. 🔥tech though.
The sound and the choppy, repetitive nature of it reminds me of the electronic artist The Field
Going by your playlists I'm really surprised you didn't say father2004 / christtt
This is pretty cool
And then 6:30 happens...
mate this is cool as fuck
Magazo!!!
Leading edge
this is fuckin sick
But where is the looping part?
That’s definitely a Bjork sample at 6:15
This state of emergency!
Expectations = haters.
I Love It
8:55 is where it starts, for me
