This is one solo I've wanted to play all of my life. I've got a pretty good ear but never having a band that could cover it I only made minimal attempts at it. I am new to your page, just finished Pt. 1 and am looking for pt 2. Thank you for your breakdown!
Hey man, after reading all these comments on your clip it shows that a lot of people are dying for Part 2.....including myself.. You got a good thing going here so please don't let us down. Keep up the brilliant work man ! ! !
I agree Dave, this video tutorials (lessons) would have helped us a lot ... also the technology of slowing down the audio, not even talking about getting separate master tracks of the original songs as it works on "Jammit" ... man, I am imagining where we could be today ... maybe the people would make tutorials of our songs here ... LOL!!!!
Really helpful, I know you said you didn't do a part 2 for this but how did you get these notes down? Is there sheet music somewhere or did you slow down the original to listen to it?
Awesome! Thanks for this tutorial. I have a question. Did You use preset from Korg? If yes, which preset? I have m50 and I try to play on "Distortion Organ" but higher notes(for example 4:42) have not power like this preset in Your video. Greetings
Kuba C ... thanx for the nice comment Kuba. Yes I was using a preset of the CX-3 engine in my Kronos. I tweaked a factory preset until it came quite close to the real sound in my oppinion. Check out this video, I really like the sound that guy programmed, maybe it will help to make your M50 to sound more full in the upper range, ruclips.net/video/QzQvMujRPUg/видео.html
Do you happen to know the chords for the part right after the video stops? More specifically, where the organ comes back in with all of those big sustained chords?
Hey Light Warrior, I made this tutorial also for beginners, to see how to practice the tricky parts of the solo. In fact, not for Pros like you, you don't need that tutorial as I could see on your videos. Nevertheless, thanks for the comment.
Just incredible playing! The tutorial is excellent. I've always wanted to learn this solo, and you are making that possible.Thank you so much for sharing your talent and time. I'm so excited to see Part 2. Will it be posted soon?
John Kensinger Thanks John for the nice comment, glad you liked the tutorial, unfortunately I am a little without time lately to be able to finish the tutorial, but I hope soon, ok? I checked out ur channel, is this you playing keys in the LS cover band? ... sounds really great, who is singing lead vocals, the drummer? greets from Brazil ... Richie
@@rushyeskansas Hi, really loving this song, how you play it, nailing down almost in a perfect way the original Hammond sound. Having this your 1st part tutorial is like starting a sumptuous meal but stopping at the starter :( really liked to have the whole solo to study and practice... any chance for it?
@@giacomorossi8955 ... first of all thank you very much for ur nice comment, very much appreciated! Unfortunately, there won´t be a second part any time soon, I almost gave up posting videos and tutorials lately. But I think with the first part you have a good idea about how to go on with the rest of the solo, I think you can figure it out yourself, trust me!
@@rushyeskansas What is due is due, and having listened to some different versions of this song not only this, but also your playing Boston is extremely accurate, that's because I asked whether your contribute to teach the whole solo would've been possible, the more the accuracy and the better the result 🤓! I take your point that the beginning, this pt.1, could be a good starting provided not being a rookie 😆as I am, and because of that I do forecast I'm gonna chew harsh and bitter 😢to understand how going on with my own pt. 2, pt.3, pt.4 😢... You wrote you almost gave up posting videos and tutorials and that's, of course, up to you; life changes our priorities and you have my full understanding. What I truly hope is you didn't give up playing because if it was, in my opinion, it would've been a shame considering your level and the pleasure you can spread across the web with your very precious contribution. Wish you all the best!
Hey, thanx for the comment. I am not much a theorist when it comes to improvisations. For allowed is what sounds fine ;) if you stay in the scale of the tune, you can't go wrong!
Great tutorial, Rich! Imagine if WE had this kind of help available in our youth. Then again, we might not be as proficient if someone had showed us everything instead of us picking it all out! Still, there definitely are certain things I would rather have been shown how to play. It would have me some years, slow-learner that I am!
Yes, Richie. That is me on the keys. Thank you so much for the compliment. That means so much coming from a player of your caliber. And you are correct. The drummer is our lead vocalist. Your cover of Tempus Fugit blew me away! The production was awesome. Check out our website...www.faretradetix.com. Our band has so much history. It all began in 1969. Greetings from Orchard Park, NY...just 10 miles south of Buffalo and home of the Buffalo Bills.
I have to thank you my friend, without your video there wouldn´t be a tutorial now. You definetely don´t need the tutorial :))), but hanx again for the inspiration!
Hey NYRock, thanx for subbing. I used a customized sound for this video. I think i basicly tweaked a factory prog patch for my needs. But I don't remember which one I used ... sorry
I am sorry, but I didn't have the time anymore to finish this tutorial. Check out the following video and you easily can figur out the rest for yourself. ruclips.net/video/P5Q0u4vYXS4/видео.html. Thanks for the comment!
I mean I’m sure it’s all there, but it’s pretty confusing without a reference as to what section you’re playing, repeating things slower over and over with absolutely no context at all I’m not even sure if you’re showing the parts I’m trying to learn honestly
Still waiting for part 2...when? When?? You are so good!! :-)
Man, it was a shock when I gey all the parts and realize that was no part 2, this is a excellent lesson without any words
Please make a part two at some point. There aren’t any good tutorial videos on this song.
Hope to see part 2 soon!
Is part 2 out yet?

This was probably the most helpful video I've ever seen. Any chance we can PT 2?
Thanks!!!
When will Smokin' organ solo part 2 tutorial be coming out? Or is it already available? Thanks for all your help. AWESOME!!!
Wonderful video ! many thanks for this moment....have a nice day

Great job! Thanks for sharing your expertise.
So good that I've been waiting for the following parts ;D
Thanks, my favorite hammond solo!
Welcome pal, thanx for the nice comment!
Very nice video! When is part two scheduled to come out?
Hey Richie, great job on this. It helped a lot. Do you have part 2 available?
Hey, came across this tutorial! Thank you so much, this is just what I needed. Any chance you'll make a part two? :)

Thank you you rock keyboard man... Truly appreciate the simple repetivness of just the simple moves ERob

Excellent keyboard work! Can you give tutorial on the keyboard solo for Gonna hitch a ride?
Thank you for the nice comment. Unfortunately, I don't have the time for doing more tutorials at the moment.
Ok thanks for getting back to me !

Great tutorial. I need part II yesterday though! Is part II going to happen?
Awesome job - you are incredible on the keys !!! Take care bro
Huge help for me. Thanks for not talking.
Thanks for helping me fix my mistakes.
Excellent ! Where is part 2 ?
A shorter version versus watching your gradually evolving practice (what's the point of that, exactly?)

Thanks for posting this. Next to Lucky Man by ELP, this is my favorite keyboard solo.
+advokris thank you for the comment, I also like Lucky Man ;)
My question : in this riff, what sharps and flats are allowed based on the blues scale being employed?

Which organ sound on the Kronos did you use?
Hey NYRock, thanx for subbing. I used a customized sound for this video. I think i basicly tweaked a factory prog patch for my needs. But I don't remember which one I used ... sorry
Genau Dimitry, danke ... du hast mich durchschaut ... :))))
