@@scorpion2.411 "Tonic" is a name for any liquid that improves or strengthens something. If it's used to describe medicine, it makes your overall health better. If it's used to describe an accompaniment for an alcoholic beverage- especially quinine water to make "gin and tonic"- then it's there to sweeten the overall flavour. This is hair tonic, so it either makes the hair tougher or (more likely, in this context) makes it softer and smoother.
barber was super liberal applying the oil and he used 2 different bottles. impressive.

Many salons offer scalp massages! And all cosmetologists are trained how to do it regardless if the salon they work at offers them on the menu, so it never hurts to ask.
