This made me cry, my oldest son sent me this. My youngest at 19 took his life August 15,2019 at 19 years old a month and a week after he turned 19 and 12 days before my oldest sons 20th birthday. He would of been 21 this year. RIP Christopher 7/5/2000- 8/15/2019.

2 months ago one of my best friends committed suicide. I listened to the original version of this song a lot when I got the news and it helped me get through it. This remix was released today, on what would have been her 23rd birthday. Little coincidences like that make my friend feel not so far away. Thank you Sum 41 for writing music that has touched me throughout my life, been a fan for over 14 years now

I've been listening to Sum 41 since i was 14, and i've discovered Joe's music on summer 2020. Wooden home was his 1st music i've listened to. They both helped me going through difficult times in my life, dealing with depression and anxiety. Both of those artist means so much to me. Hearing both of them singing a song that talk about such a subjects means so much to me, i feel like Deryck and Joe are telling me and us all to keep on fighting and staying strong, because someone in this world care about you. Everyone reading this, please stay strong. You're not alone. If you keep on going you will see that life isnt always black and pain, that it's worth living it. I love you all

the reason i love Deryk most cuz he is the only guy who still doesn't care about mainstream electric pop rock shit 😑,, he true to his genre and make every music for his genuine fans🤗 #longlivesum41💚🤘
I mean no disrespect to sum41 by saying the following: this song is "electric pop rock". Your arbitrary categorization of all electric pop rock being "shit" is the part that's unnecessary. If sum41 wants to make a song, they'll make the song they want to make - be it pop metal, pop punk, pop rock, or polka death core. Genuine music can be "electric pop rock". What genre do you think this specific song belongs to if not Electric, Pop, and Rock?
Well through this context my point was not particular about this song i know this is song is more of mainstream soft Rock approach but their most of the work still reflect the sound of connected to the raw rock music. Whereas now most of the bands now days they called themselves rock band but they are playing total electronic pop music to get more mainstream and money making rather thn true rock music fans like myself so that's why for me sum 41 is far better than them atleast till now ... And sorry if you found my comment offensive but my intention was not it was purely my appreciation for sum 41 ...
@@happeningwalks8499 i think i know what you mean. For example, almost nobody knows the first album of the red hot chili peppers, they got famous with albums californication and by the way and now the're really pop. The differents between first album and now is HUGE ! SUM41 is still in original set-up, still rebelyell, punk in lyrics and sound. Somehow they know how to make new music that doesnt sound like repeat (i have that with disturbed/album asylum specific). All those facts make them unique.
@@qoorsix yeah exactly my point was totally agreed ,,you know it hurts when you listening a rock band From so long for their actual music and thn they suddenly starts playing EDM kind of Music to get more mainstream its kind of feel bad for a true Rock music fan

Dang this song still stabs me in the feels, hands down one of the best from the album. I haven't lost anyone yet, but time is the ultimate taker just as it is the ultimate healer. Reading what everyone else has gone through in these comments has made me realise: I am so not ready for that day

But that said... I am very weirded out by how nothing, nowhere is getting credit for all this. "Only **his** songs could bring me to tears". Like ok, you realize this is a sum 41 song he's just featured on, right? It wasn't written by him? lmao
The collab we didn't knew we needed. Two amazing artists 💓
This collab is probably my favorite sum 41 song
@@nashkepler2220 I'm glad I found you here too 😂
@@JuanCruzFabi I've been seeing your comments for years on RUclips so I've subbed to you
@@adamrees400 Lmao, thank you! I uploaded just one video on my channel. Maybe I will post a few more on my fitness and muscle growth progress
@@JuanCruzFabi it's all good content doesn't matter. It's just crazy that I always see your comments. We must watch the same videos LMAO rock on dude
They act like we have a choice to be this way. I lost the only person I could talk to about my life and problems to an overdose. 25 just like me. I miss you Matt. I’m about to be a father now. And I’m gonna get through this pain I hope. Thank you Deryck for all of these amazing songs. From dear father, to never there, anything. Chester was my all time favorite and I randomly wanted to listen to some Stone Sour Song 3, but this came on. I’m so thankful RUclips chose this. You’ll always be our hero and inspiration. Never stop Sum 41. You can do this as well, don’t give up if you’re reading this.
So I’m a dad now. My girlfriend left and took her little girl who I loved like my own, and him. I still see him more than I could ask for. I understand why she left… anyways this is the only song I can’t play through without starting to cry. Sum 41. You saved so many lives. And touch our hearts. Always be proud of yourselves. We are blessed to be in the same life time as you.
Please be stronger than me, he's with you always xxxxxz
Rest in paradise,Chester Benington❤️
Edit: NN sounds like Chester kinda.
Not one bit. At least not to me.
Melodic Chester from MTM, ATS and LT! He sounds a lot like him!
Was expecting NN to have a fast verse like in his collab with Stand Atlantic but this is still an awesome song
Miss my mother and my aunt. The pain never goes away you just learn to live around it...that emptiness you left will never fill...
One of the best songs I've ever heard
I love you all
I love how their music matured and grew as they did such beauty
Man this Sum41 is an Emotion...
Didnt plan on waking up and bawling my eyes out this morning, but here i am.
Beautiful song. Needed this.
Two friends in the last year are unfortunately no longer with us, I never new their struggles. Do not underestimate what your words can mean to another, If only i'd spoken up sooner perhaps they would still be alive...I'm so sorry Alex and Carla, I will never forget you.
R.I.P. my best friend Timothy Jacob Harmon. You were an awesome and selfless person my dude.
This really touches close to home, because as someone that has anxiety and depression, I have thought about (but never actually going through with it), taking my life. I know now, that SUICIDE IS NOT AN OPTION... to those that have lost a friend, family member, to suicide, my prayers and condolences go out to you...
I feel you man, our life becomes harder without specific reason
I just discovered this great song. I dedicate it to my brother who is not in this world today. I will never forget you, Paul.
Five years ago i have lost my father, I've been 13 years old. I can say now, father, you are still everything for me, I forgive you for what you have done. I love you and i want to say, that I'm trying to be the person you would like me to be.
Rest in peace, Vadim.
Even though I haven't met any person who would commit suicide, I feel this song, I feel the pain, what it must be like to lose someone you loved.
Rest In Peace Henry, you meant the world to us.
my best friend left this world 4 years ago now. we used to listen to nothing, nowhere all the time. His favorite song was hopes up
I listened to Sum 41 non stop around the time my dad passed away, they got me through alot of dark emotions. Thank you for this ❤️
RIP Tom Hunt 1962-2012 ❤️
Just heard this live tonight at the Blame Canada Concert. It meant so much to me hearing this today after losing so many in my life, more than i expected. Thank you for playing this in your concerts for the awareness of those we've lost.
Sum 41 is that band that appeals to the Punk fellas and the rest all the same!!
This song is so powerful.
miss chester, so long to see again SUM41, welcom ]e back . . .
the reason i love Deryk most cuz he is the only guy who still doesn't care about mainstream electric pop rock shit 😑,, he true to his genre and make every music for his genuine fans🤗 #longlivesum41💚🤘
No offense to your opinion but this song is the most "mainstream pop-rock shit" imaginable, lol
I'm 55, been a fan of Sum 41 since their debut. That song kept me alive as i did really think to end it all. I did harm myself a lot, to ease my pain. I finally feel better now. Thank you for this song!
Sorry,
Its nice to have you here Chucky. You scared the shiotoutta me when i was a kid tho, but still love you pal.
when punks get serious, this happens, a song that rises up to the occassion
Peacefully🖤 Rest In Peace for all souls.
The message is beautiful. Heart wrenching, yet beautiful 😌
My favourite band when i was a teenager has made a collab with my favourite artist at the moment. Can't put into words how much I love this. Thank you so much!
My best friend for 19 years took his life about 6 years ago. Made the biggest impact on me. Wouldnt be who I am without him. Fuck I miss him.
Прорыв в творчестве, очередной шедевр.
Sums -- I have followed you for as long as I can remember. You've been my favorite band since I first heard Still Waiting on a video on Newgrounds, and I always said that you were the guys that grew with me musically as I got older. You always had a song for the next season of my life, and this one is no different. Love you guys, and I'm so proud of you for the things you speak up about.
Dang this song still stabs me in the feels, hands down one of the best from the album.
I haven't lost anyone yet, but time is the ultimate taker just as it is the ultimate healer. Reading what everyone else has gone through in these comments has made me realise: I am so not ready for that day
Stabs my ears ...
Deryck is stronger than ever.. I love Sum41 since I heard "Over my head" for the first time in 2006. This song is so important..
This is one of not so many songs, that actually made me cry. Good work
This is gonna be the best thing ever
Edit: It is the best thing ever
It’s on Spotify 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Exactly!
NOT !!!!!
Both this and the accoustic version
It really hit me hard...i needed this kind of song...i've finally found it❤️keep on writing songs Derek, we love you..Sum41 forever!!!
To everyone that's lost someone, I'm so sorry for all you've been through and I'm so happy we find strength and resolve in moments like this. As someone with mental health issues that has had his life saved 3 times, every day can be a challenge and never doubt what you do for people, every moment you share with them means something and can be special to them. Stay strong ❤️
I watched this video during dinner. I had tears all over my dinner.
One of my favourite songs....LOVE YOU DERYCK AND FOR WHAT YOU DO❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Derek, so much. You still can wright such emotional touchy songs. This is genuine talent. Please keep it as long as possible.
Bring back the thrash metal, this is terrible !!!!!
@@all2blame163 No, i isn’t. Good songs much better than just “thrash metal”. You will understand when you grow up.
@@all2blame163 bro this is helping many people not Jill themselves. There is more good music than just trash metal 🙂
I might be biased by my unconditional love for him, but it's mind-blowing how Joe fits perfectly in every single featuring he does.
RUclips actually warns me about the content of this music video. Yeah, cos it's so fuckin powerful. Keep writing music guys. We need to hear more.
I lost my best friend a month ago. And then you put out this song. Thank you! You have no idea how much it means to me Deryck!
My heart is broken. It’s amazing. Thank you Deryuk, Joe. You are the best
How can this man still write such beauties 25 years later? I can't believe we almost lost him. Love you Deryck.
Sir, I'm very Happy your wife is still here, she is Loved and EVERYONE contemplating suicide is Loved, You may not know it or feel it but there is someone who is out there that needs you or will need you in the future, you are Loved, I Love You and wished I knew You.
This has got to be one of the best fucking songs they have ever done! RIP Bill, Mike, and Sam. You're all still missed.
Glad sum 41 is supporting new rap artist like nothing, nowhere! As a fan of both of them, this feature is amazing! Sum41 haven't released anything in 2 years
Dude is a rapper? Huh
@@MrSmith-rk4jq the term rap's become pretty ambiguous in the past decade
@@MrSmith-rk4jq Yeah I've been a big fan of Joe for awhile. He's a really awesome guy offstage as well. He makes some pretty punk inspired rap music, he also did a song with Dashboard Confessional awhile back.
Not just a rapper

Beautiful and haunting
The hardest thing I've had to watch in a while.
Wasn’t expecting to be forced to cry like that. Can’t believe this song came out 2 years ago and I’m just now hearing it.
That was sooooo heart warming I was almost in tears

Amazing as always. Sum 41 never disappoints. Not once. I'll count on you guys to keep rock alive.
Been a fan of Sum 41 since Fat Lip came out.
While loving all of their albums since then, this is the Sum 41 I always wanted.
Catching Fire and War are two songs that resonate with me and I can’t explain how much these songs mean to me.
Some of us lost Chester back in 2017, but we almost lost Deryck so many years ago.
While I miss Chester, I’m glad you’re still with us Deryck.
Much love to everyone.
Please keep your friends, family, and everyone else close to you.
The hardest battles people fight are the ones they never tell you. Please remind them that you love them. It may be all they need to hear. ❤️
Thank you, Sum 41.
Thank you for this song! When you are depressed nothing reaches you- you are alone in this cage. But this song somehow reached and reminded me that there ARE people out there loving me. In my head I hear these people sing this song for me and because of that it saved at least one life: Mine. Thank you!! It's a light in the dark.
A song with so much meaning and power ! Thank you guys for all those songs that guide us and help us
I listen to this several times a day, helps me cope..
I love Sum41.

Se fajaron con ese tema, ya saben amigos nunca están solos, siempre habrá alguien aquí dispuesto para ustedes.
I just saw the premiere of the video, and wow. This song was released at a perfect time in my life. For my screenwriting classes I'm working on a script in which my main characters go through a hard time to realize that life is worth living. This song fits their situation so well, it's just so beautiful.
I can't promise y'all that there won't be any hardships 'cause they're part of life, but it gets better. You'll get better at dealing with life as well because there's always something worth staying for. Make that your motivation and slowly but surely it'll get easier. Even a bit.
Thank you Sum 41 and nothing, nowhere. for this collab 💕
Sum 41 has been my favorite band since I was in 4th grade (I'm 29 now) and one of my new favorite artists is nothing, nowhere. I was not expecting this but MAN AM I EXCITED!
