Worked Great!! Thanks for the great video. I had to take apart the motor and pump assembly and inside I found a piece of plastic from a food container that was jamming everything up. Took me a couple hours but everything works great now and it cost me $0!!
You are insanely awesome for sharing this video. I was part way through a repair (I've never repaired a dishwasher before and had no serious working knowledge of how they even worked before starting) and just when I thought I was dead in the water I did a search and found your video. It bridged the gap that I needed to bridge!
Thank you for taking the time to share this video.
You've heard my story before... I didn't need to do the replacement job, just get at the motor and this video was perfect. I got in there and found 2 bread wrappers (the wire twisty things). Removed them gave the motor a turn and now all is right with the world. Spent the day thinking I was facing a bend over and pay $100 and it ended costing $0. Thanks Samurai
Thanks so much for this. I've got a leaking motor with a bad seal and a bad bearing as a result. I decided to go ahead and replace the whole assembly. You're video was key in my understanding how to do it. Thanks!
Great video! There are the 3 clips to remove and replace that aren't shown. Just feel around for them. Rear one is on the right side, not that hard to get to. When installing, be sure to insert clips before re-fitting the drain pump for more room to work. Video also doesn't show removal of thermistor housing, which is easy. I love that you don't have to remove the whole unit from the cabinet in order to replace this assembly. Thanks again!
Nice video! At 2:36 into the video there are three plastic clips that have to be removed before you can lift out the assembly. There is a clip on the left side, right, and the rear. They are shaped like a half-moon (trigger) for your finger to pull them out. They are kinda tricky to get back in especially the rear one. You can always simply roll out the dishwasher to gain better access to the bottom of the unit. Nonetheless this video was awesome! Thanks! It saved me over $300!
Many thanks for this excellent video! My dishwasher was a Kenmore Elite but the parts and procedure are identical. My assembly also had 3 clips holding it in place as others have mentioned. And I was able to remove the small sump pump without first disconnecting its wiring harness. Other than that it was perfect. You da man!!
Thanks!!!! Saved me $300. the only step left out (at least for my dishwasher) was to remove the 3 clips... Otherwise, AWESOME!!!!!
A great practical video!
>Video leave a lot out.
That is an understatement! I did NOT read the comments about the 3 clips at first. NO mention in the video at all. When I pushed up I thought it was going to break.
Then we go from "just push up" to "it's out". Not exactly! It is not coming out. It's like pulling a 3' diameter peg through a 2' diameter hole. Something it catching in the back and front when trying to pull the assembly out.
Wow. Compared to other videos, pretty cool that he can do all of this without removing the dishwasher. I believe 'adff...' (see below) there are 3 clips securing the motor on all the pumps. 1 of which can not be seen in this video (according to him.)
I followed your directions and fixed my dishwasher. mine had a few clips/claps underneath that held the assembly tightly in place. I didn't replace the assembly. I took mine apart and cleaned it all out. gross stuff from the previous home owners... appewntly they ate a lot of cherries, because it was full of pits.
On the bottom water is covering the heating element. I think the spray arm is not spinning around. Dishes on the top tray are done dry. It does go true the wash cycle and drying cycle.
Would this be similar on the KUDE70FXSS2? I need to replace the pump clamps and it would be easier to do it on the counter rather than the floor.
If the water fill level is not coming up to a finger-width below the heating element, replace the water inlet valve.
very good
While you don't need to remove the dishwasher (as demonstrated) personally I found it way easier to just remove it and have full access to everything.
And yes, the clips to hold the motor in were a lot easier to remove/reinstall.
For me it also ended up being a good thing to remove it because I feel like I understand how the machine operates now, what and where other parts are and I'm confident I can do some other repairs in the future.
I replaced the motor pump assembly however now it appears that water goes in the washer at the bottom and the spinner doesn't appear to turn around. Any dishes on the top rack are dry. Before the motor pump change the washer wouldn't do anything, Now it completes a washer cycle, its hot inside, but water is not moving around during a wash cycle.
Although an interesting video having made the same repair, it's much easier to remove the washer to replace motor assembly. If you have tiny hands, can see in that tiny space your taking a chance on breaking something to do the job with the washer in place. I removed it, didn’t take much time, easily replaced motor assm., pushed in the wedges. This would not have been possible without removing the washer.
The video doesnt touch on the power disconnect which should be done. Video leave a lot out.
