Your discussions about the physics of rainbows reminded me of my first date with my husband when he explained the sound wave characteristics of why part of the song "Wuthering Heights" always sounds so shriek-y no matter who sings it.

I've knows quite a few boy cats who are very sweet. My own Oscar is always hanging out by my side and he is very cuddly. TJ has a wonderful guy named Sweet William. Your kitty may mellow out over time. Don't give up on him!!!!
Umkay. I just watched Debbie's video and I applaud your sensitive response. I'm sure she cried as she viewed it. I started to tear up a little when you adroitly explained the physics of a rainbow and it's inability to support a basket of kitties wearing bow ties. As an Earth Scientist, I thought that was totally hawt. I'm still working on the yodeling thing, but my cat really isn't into it - and, well, we know who's in charge, so there go my yodeling aspirations.
Paul, you are amazing. I love your videos and your sense of humor. When I saw this video response I knew exactly what it was in response to-- lol! More people would be interested in an engineering career field if they could learn about it through cats.
It's true. Some cats don't like to be hugged; in fact, some cats don't like to be held. You need to respect THEIR comfort level; you cannot force a cat to be any more affectionate than they're going to be. Now our cat Eartha (whom we had for 14+ years) absolutely LOVED to be held and she LOVED to be hugged. She would also do the hugging! And there were times when after we'd been holding her for a while and started to put her down on the floor, she would start climbing back up on us because she wanted to be held longer! She would also get our faces soppying wet! She was the BEST cat we've ever had! She LOVED people. Other cats, NOT so much! lol
That's actually one of the bits in life that makes me sad. I'd love to hug almost all the animals on earth, except that most of them wouldn't want hugs. You just can't go around hugging people/animals that don't want hugs! Still... I'd hug almost all the animals that would want a hug!
Oh my goodness this was just.... too great. I'm lacking eloquence because of the giggles... too adorable and that perfect touch of intelligent awkwardness that just makes it so cute & appealing. ^_^ This is in my top 5 favorites of your videos so far!
Even before watching the video, i wish i could adopt these two kitties. My house is already run amuck (i mean that in the best, smiley-face way!) in rescued kitties. Thank you, Paul, for caring about cats and trying to find homes for the less fortunate ones. Engineers are adorably dorky and yet sweet. Or at least mine is. That and he makes every effort to be suave and 'hip' but it backfires horribly leaving me in a fit of giggles and all the more reason to appreciate him (on top of his love for cats!)

Got to watching it,then reposted it on FB and then went into RUclips to see what else you had, after which, I subscribed to your link and got watching , and watching and watching. Yyou are more addicting then buttered popcorn, Nutella, and Cheez-Its. (and no caloriesl!!) I have three cats. Stripy, Blacky and Little Gray. Can you picture them in your mind? Love your humor!!!
I re-watched the video and still didn't catch the Muppets reference that commenters repeatedly refer to... but, no one mentioned the subtle StarTrek reference right in the beginning. Was that intentional?
Muppet reference is "Rainbow Connection" sung by Kermit. Go look at the lyrics and you'll see it. "Red shirt" is not a Trek reference - just pointing to the fact that the red shirt appears in ALL my videos. Because engineers are creatures of habit.

The cats would have to be brought to her in "huggable" state, (e.g. washed and/or tranquilized) to reduce chance of injury or flea infestation. This would entail a considerable financial cost, but we may assume infinite resources for a girl as determined as Debbie.
