Reece seems like a good sport the way she smiled at Tiffany during the referees instructions. That moved her up a few notches in my book although I've never seen her fight.
Both are great fighters and dedicated athletes, however, Tiffany seems to me to be the more "whole" in her approach to the task. She has shown to be the equal of the champs thus far, and that is no easy thing. She will undoubtedly have a fine future and begin to win by large score margins and title upsets. I just love her heart in the sport, and truly enjoy watching her work. I am a big, big fan of what she simply "is".
How is that decision correct??? I must not understand their scoring criteria. I thought the smaller gal landed more significant strikes. The blonde gal did land more knees but they didn't seem as significant as the brunette's strikes. Oh well. It was a good fight.
I can't understand why people wouldn't see this fight as a split decision to Caley Reece. Caley scored better in the traditional sense & fought the better fight for scoring. Knees count more than punches (elbows more than knees). Caley scored many many knees to a few good elbows by van Soest. I was impressed that Tiffany van Soest was this good at such a young age. Also, Caley Reece's post fight comments were perfect. They show she's been trained well in answering leading questions.
Those knees from the australian were totally ineffective, whilst Van Soest was precise and landed a lot of hits, elbows, punches to the liver, uppercuts and even more powerful knees... Judges should be sent in a Thai Camp to learn what a knee to the body feels like, as well as the commentator!
Lorenzo Luilli - van soest had some good combos and attacks but I thought she was largely ineffective. If van soest had fought her more aggressive style like she usually does, she would have won that fight
Such a good fight.. I thought Tiffany fought an equally tough fight if not just a little bit better than Caley but Caley is the Champ. You can't take down the Champ by equaling her effort, it has to be more decisive than that. Tiffany's day is coming. Kudos to both girls, both are great fighters!!
Caley wasn't the champ tho? She became the champion by winning this fight. Was a very close fight but I felt like Tiffany did enough for the win, and if tiff was defending than it should have been on Caley to put more if a fight on her like you said.
Commentators “elbows score the highest and kicks the lowest” ???? How are the general public meant to know how to score Muay Thai if the commentators get it completely wrong? Body kicks and knees to the body are what actually score the highest, elbows only score if they show effect....
That's what I was thinking. Most of those "scoring" knees weren't landing. They were hitting on the thigh not the point of the knee, tiffany was smothering her range very well. She should of won.
from a spectator POV, tiffany dealt more damage, more active, landed more accurately, defended well with slips and perried. Aussie on other hand, kicked air most of the attempts, the only thing she got going for her were clinch work, but what do you expect from a larger fighter? how do you not already expect a larger fighter to control the clinch? to beat the champ you got to beat the champ. in my opinion, Tiffany controlled the entire fight, she knew how to get herself out of the clinch that she knew was not in her favor and the aussie allowed her to get a break from the ref. if the aussie had pressure and manuver herself to continue to fight in the clinch without the ref stepping in, then yeah i would agree she should win. I personally didnt see how tiffany lost. the amount of elbows the aussie ate while being chased down around the ring during the last round were pretty significant and those were scored the most points? very bias decision.
It wasn't a horrible decision but I also think tiff won that fight. Like you said, all the aussy had going was the clinch work and let's be honest that wasn't doing that much damage.
none of you rexkwando's realise that Muay thai scoring is different than kickboxing and k1. it's the art of 8 limbs which means that clinching is a massive part of scoring as well as kicks to the body and rounds 3 and 4 scoring and rounds 1 and 2 not scoring at all. Go to thailand or google the rules for further information on how real muay thai is scored in the motherland where it was created (and still continuously produces the best fighters in the world). caley reece dominated her every round. Pat Miletich scored Tiffany as winning which is absolutely ludicrous and it's scoring like that (which highlights everyone who agrees) the primitive understanding of the sport and it's fan base. If you want kickboxing rules go watch that. this is muay thai.
Where is the traditional Muay Thai music? This is Muay Thai and not kickboxing. I mean they are allowed to clinch for more than just one knee. Look at that stomach at 31:28... she's had a kid! Crazy.
I'm a major fan of Tiffany's, and I agree. She lost this fight. When the last round started I was saying If Tiffany doesn't get with it she's going to lose this fight, and well, she didn't get with it. To me, she wasn't the fighter that I'm used to seeing. It was like she was holding back the entire fight. Her heart wasn't in it.
@Paul Lunney u r wrong on that point if clinched and the person dumping falls as well as long as they land on top they get the point for that if the other person ends up on top on the way down then the point goes to the other person
Tiffany shouldn’t have been clinching with girl because each time she did, Caley prevailed. Tiffany should have been talked out of clinching with girl. She should have relied on boxing mostly and kicks to her face.
@Brian Landers You are right exactly, Firestream likely thinks the word "Boxing" does not apply to muay thai but many if not most will refer to the stand up fist striking aspect as boxing in its looser form. That's what it is just as much as it is for Mike Tyson as the idea is the same, to knock out the opponent directly or by TKO, but can also include feet and elbows. I don't quite get the judo and throwing aspect. In this fight there is none, no floor work but for example, Rena Kubota fights muay thai which includes floor fighting, throwing or rather take down and that is also in the ring. (Rena prefers stand up fighting but still competes in the floor fighting aspect). Can generally tell at the start by the different gloves worn in both styles. Hard to fight on the floor in boxing gloves. The fact that they wear and refer to them as Boxing gloves proves a point. Since all cage and ring fights other than straight forward boxing is referred to as MMA, Mixed Martial Arts, I don't know why Firestream says it is not muay thai without explanation.
That's your opinion bruh I'm a fan of the more traditional style of Muay Thai, more of a Muay khao fighters is what I'm into...I just feel as though she's to "hoppy"
Tee Jay Did you really say that ? Really ??? LMAO tiffany would knock out Caley without thinking about it, but Tiffany always gives her oppoent respect due to their great abilities, but this doesnt mean she wont knock them out just the same. Tee Jay, dont be a hater be a lover.

That was a very long time ago. Tiffany was just starting out. Caley is old and now she is out of the game. Tiffany has a belt and is no longer a beginner. If they fought today it would be interesting but wouldn't last long. Caley just to over the hill. I did enjoy your post. Keep living in the past bro and hang on to it, if you really need to. Nuff Said !

So many of reeces knees were not landed or just barely glancing. Terrible judging. Most likely the fix was in. Would love to know what kind of gambling and odds were going on at that fight.
they tell them to lock tight and the body totally exposed. they just stand there holding on could be working the body i know it's technique take a risk once in a while
This fight was was close and the only reason van seost didn't get the win is bc of the scoring system of muay Thai having the clinch success and knees to score more effective than aggression and boxing if this were mma I know time bomb would've got the win with how they score their cards but I would love to see Tiffany try mma she has the tools and is still young and she trains with ufc fighters I think she'd be even more of a time bomb!!
Meh, I can't argue with the decision, the Australian girl got that one. It looks close and all, but she landed more knees in those clinches, and threw her down more often. Tiffany was not used to fighting someone of that level, so she looked out of her element somewhat, not capable of doing what she'd normally wanna do in a fight. That being said, I only found out about this Tiffany chick like two and a half hours ago. I've watched some of her fights, and I gotta say I love this broad. Love her style, her energy, she's really entertaining to watch, great fighter, big heart. At first I thought she was Dutch, cause she has a Dutch name (van Soest). But yeah, this fight was tough, that Australian fighter was experienced, and deserved the win I think. Cheers yo
XaeeD there is a difference between landing actual knee shots and those that she “landed”. Most of them were bouncing off her own arms......maybe you should watch the fight again. Tiffany is clearly the better fighter that’s why the Australian didn’t want to throw hands.
Your right about the knees not landing or for that matter almost all her kicks as well. Do the judges give points if the kicks are deflected, or are the kicks supposed to actually connect with the body or head? Caley through kicks but almost all of them were deflected!
I remember this fight. Horrible judges. If you watch this from ringside you can hear, see and tell what lands and what does not. Hell if you get to see all cameras from all angles before the final cuts to video, it can tell even more! Worst calls in my opinion in the 25 years I have been attending, assisting and judging such events; Reason why I say this is about 75% of Caley's knees never landed/connected. The % throws to hits by Tiffany was far superior. I don't remember the exact figure, but I do remember "triple" was the roundabout figure on %ToLand. A shame that such bad calls are permanent scars on such great athletes and their records. Don't get me wrong it was a good fight, but neither fighter was in full control of each round, so other factors and formulas come into play to score outside of just that. (simple terms) I would've scored that last round 8/10 = Tiffany and I am a Caley Fan, so not a one-sided opinion!
@@KMAAcademy2020 in Muay Thai if walk forward you eat 5 clean shots and don’t react, the opponent doesn’t get any credit 🤣. Whereas if you land one kick, and the opponent staggers, you’re winning . It’s complete garbage .
Tiffany was cheated by the organization that sponsored this match up who advised the judges to give the decision to the other fighter. Tiffany completely out classed Caley who is not in the same league as Tiffany.
yes we all hate the fact that tiffany lost .BUT the hot blonde used her head for more then a punching bag and exacuted a great fight.she pickrd her shots and scored with her knees using her hight to out score her she blocked beautfuly and knew her and her opponits range at all times.sorry i know boxing but my spelling not the best.lol working on it
I'm not a fan of muay thai, but this fight seemed to develop slowly, both women somewhat cautious. Neither fighter found their rhythm. It should have gone on for five more rounds, at least.
Muay Thai isn't scored like boxing. Knees are worth more, 3, elbows kicks and throws worth 2, 1 for punches. 1 extra for an effective blow. That's how they reach their decision for a 10 - 9 round. Also how 10 - 8 rounds are more common in Muay Thai without a standing 8 count..
I have to say after just watching this fight, Tiffany was by far the most effective fighter of the two without question! She was much much more effective with her punches and her timing was much better than Caley. Caley's kicking were mostly at air! Common now. Again Tiffany was very impressive. I had her winning the 1st round because she was just more effective. the only round that i though was close was the 4th round. I honestly dont know what fight the commentators and the judges were watching.
Effective means she's doing damage. I didn't see Caley affected by the strikes, and she was doing more with her kicks, grappling and throws. The crowd was all excited seeing a flurry of punches and jumping knees but they didn't seem to accomplish much. I disagree with you and I think the decision to was the correct one.
@@jacko4483 Really? Who kicked herself in the clench almost as much as she kicked her opponent, and who came out of the fight with a bloody nose? By 'damage', I score the fight 1-0 for van Soest.
One elbow from Van Soest did the most damage in the fight. Bad decision. Pitty pat fighters don't survive for long. They have to keep moving on. Who had the bloody nose?? The elbow did that and she was shaken from it.
Got your point Winter. It's different than what I'm used to watching. You're correct. Good you pointed that out for others that don't know. I did...but some watching it that did NOT know the difference..they'd disagree strongly with the decision.

@@thaichatham It was very obvious that Caley was not effective at all with her kicks. Good judges should recognize that just moving your leg up and down should not count for points, but these judges had it in the bag for Caley, that was very obvious by almost everyone on this forum.
Yes. Challenger was clearly more experienced but the title holder was unflappable and surprisingly composed. Nothing astonishing in the win. Appeared Reece was surprised and the audience was obviously surprised. Kinda uncool to come out of retirement having had your big day and with such an unsure and limited future as champ while knocking about the new talent who was doing so well. Come back, shake things up, and retire again?
While Tiffany landed some real hard punches, a couple good elbows and leg kicks, Kayley landed infinite left kicks and won the clinch. I had Caylee winning rounds 2 3 and 4 and drawing 5 because 5 was too hard for me to score. Great fight though! A clear winner on points in my eyes but definitely toe to toe as far as getting hurt.
note to commentators please learn muay thai scoring basics my gosh! if you throw someone from the clinch but you go down with them it doesnt score! you need to throw them and still be standing
dumps from the clinch don't "score" as such, they simply show domination in the clinch as part of the more holistic Thai judging system. It doesn't matter if both go down, the dominance is shown by whoever lands on top, even if that isn't the fighter who initiated the dump However, the comment "elbows score highest" almost made me laugh- elbows are same as punches, they only score if they show an effect. kicks and knees to the body score highest. But all techniques are also judged on effectiveness- a punch or elbow that visibly rocks the opponent scores more than a weak bodykickj
I only had Tiffany down for round 1. You can not score Muay Thai with kick boxing scoring system. If you punch your opponent 20 times and only receive one body kick in return, you are losing on points. Punches are literally worthless other than for ko's. Muay Thai also scores your balance and grace. If you receive a kick and don't move, then return a kick and disrupt your opponents balance, you win the point. There are intricate nuances to Muay Thai, like knees, elbows body kicks and the clinch, that don't exist in kick boxing.
I thought you had to convincingly beat a champion to take a belt...it was a close fight and i didn't see a good enough reason to change belt holder ...yes she was a champion, but she retired, relinquished the belt and with all her experience everyone is talking about she should have been able to fight a much better fight than she did....Bad Decision
@@j2dar04 So is the use of boxing. It's totally up to each fighter whether or not they want to get into clinching though it s very likely they will have to so learn the complete range.

Hell no!!!! Tiffany won that fight. That Euro chick betta be thankful for points for sorry ass clinching and ineffective knees. Tiffany was dancing with those feet.....great defense. Tiffany had her kicking the air the whole fight. Footwork like Muhammad Ali. I want a re-fight
I know its all over, and many people are arguing that by Muay Thai rules, Reece won by virtue of the number of knees she threw BUT...watch again..... most of these were useless and had no real power....she won by virtue of cosmetic knees...a joke..she missed countless kicks, she was boring...van Soest was the aggressor and a much more comprehensive fighter..
The whole knee scoring thing makes no sense. Resse did throw more knees throughout the fight but only actually landed maybe landed 10% of them. Most were blocked by her own arm or by Van Soest's arm, not to mention that not one from the left in the clinch not one knee landed, her shin slid off of Van Soest's ass. Reese shouldn't of come close to a split decision and took it. I mean if all you have to do to win is clinch and throw knees, even ones that don't connect just do that the whole time. The refs won't separate as long as you are keep moving and are throwing something. And yes I know saying that and doing that are two different things. But I did not see Resse win this fight in any way shape or form. Her percentages of kicks punches and actually landed knees were about 5% of total of what she threw. While Van Soest was at 80+% landed of what she threw let alone ring control and controlling Resse in the chinches. Only in this sport can the one that clearly was losing, win the fight because the Judges were only watching what was being thrown and not what actually landed.

It's bad to loose
Who's the voice over?
2 Warriors, a beautiful match up
Tiffany was cheated by the organization that sponsored this match up who advised the judges to give the decision to the other fighter. Tiffany completely out classed Caley who is not in the same league as Tiffany.
Kinda weird seeing that this is the only video on this channel haha
I don't know, neither fighter hurt the other.Little gal had more strikes the last two rounds.
I agree, Tiffany won
yes we all hate the fact that tiffany lost .BUT the hot blonde used her head for more then a punching bag and exacuted a great fight.she pickrd her shots and scored with her knees using her hight to out score her she blocked beautfuly and knew her and her opponits range at all times.sorry i know boxing but my spelling not the best.lol working on it
Audio, fading in and out but skillful fight on each side
I'm not a fan of muay thai, but this fight seemed to develop slowly, both women somewhat cautious. Neither fighter found their rhythm. It should have gone on for five more rounds, at least.
Muay Thai isn't scored like boxing. Knees are worth more, 3, elbows kicks and throws worth 2, 1 for punches. 1 extra for an effective blow. That's how they reach their decision for a 10 - 9 round. Also how 10 - 8 rounds are more common in Muay Thai without a standing 8 count..
Love Tiffany 🤩 Go Hard For Women's Champion San Diego CA 💓
I have to say after just watching this fight, Tiffany was by far the most effective fighter of the two without question! She was much much more effective with her punches and her timing was much better than Caley. Caley's kicking were mostly at air! Common now. Again Tiffany was very impressive. I had her winning the 1st round because she was just more effective. the only round that i though was close was the 4th round. I honestly dont know what fight the commentators and the judges were watching.
This was BULLSHIT TIFFANY won I'm pissed
Effective means she's doing damage. I didn't see Caley affected by the strikes, and she was doing more with her kicks, grappling and throws. The crowd was all excited seeing a flurry of punches and jumping knees but they didn't seem to accomplish much. I disagree with you and I think the decision to was the correct one.
@@jacko4483 Really? Who kicked herself in the clench almost as much as she kicked her opponent, and who came out of the fight with a bloody nose? By 'damage', I score the fight 1-0 for van Soest.
@@jacko4483 I hate Thai style scoring. That’s the only reason why Tiffany lost.
Has tiffany ever been kod??
Clash of the Titans!!! Good fight.
One elbow from Van Soest did the most damage in the fight. Bad decision. Pitty pat fighters don't survive for long. They have to keep moving on.
Who had the bloody nose?? The elbow did that and she was shaken from it.
Tiffany was way out classed by the stronger Aussie 😁
🤣🤣🤣
Great, close fight. But could that one announcer have possibly been more biased towards Reece? C'mon, man.
lol, it's Muay Thai, not a grasshopping contest. Caley won this with ease, a technical masterclass. Easy to score when you know what you're watching.
Got your point Winter. It's different than what I'm used to watching. You're correct. Good you pointed that out for others that don't know. I did...but some watching it that did NOT know the difference..they'd disagree strongly with the decision.
None of those knees from reese are landing
what is tiffany's walkout song?
Bs how can someone who never throw a punch win just by clinches terrible decision.
No Muay Thai isn't scored like boxing. Knees are worth more, 3, elbows kicks and throws worth 2, 1 for punches. 1 extra for an effective blow. That's how they reach their decision for a 10 - 9 round. Also how 10 -8 rounds are more common in Muay Thai without a standing 8 count..
@@thaichatham It was very obvious that Caley was not effective at all with her kicks. Good judges should recognize that just moving your leg up and down should not count for points, but these judges had it in the bag for Caley, that was very obvious by almost everyone on this forum.
bilgsmf nope, the little flea didn’t do anything. The little flea should go back to bidding tables. Or dancing on them.
a really strange decision - Tiffany was more precise punching and controlling the fight clearly
Not sure that judges maybe didn't mix the two names.
I agree with you Neb, these judges had them confused. They had me confused!
Caley is one scary woman. Her presence in the ring is pretty damn intimidating. Explosive too.
Nope.
The challenger has to clearly beat the title holder and that clearly wasn't the case. Pour judging here!
Agreed! To be the Champ, you have to BEAT the Champ!
Scoring IS beating.
Alguien que me diga que disciplina es esta?. Gracias
Tough fight to score.
She didn't lose but the other one may have won.
I thought the benefit of the doubt went against the challenger.
Fight starts at 8:28, FFS. You're welcome.
Caley was taller, more experienced, and cute, Tiffany was decent cute & small but couldn't find that last gear
Dallas DautermanDallas what does being cute have to do with the fight??
For most of my life, a close fight is supposed to go to the champion. Kaylee Reece mostly fought defensively and did not do so much attacking.
note to commentators please learn muay thai scoring basics my gosh! if you throw someone from the clinch but you go down with them it doesnt score! you need to throw them and still be standing
dumps from the clinch don't "score" as such, they simply show domination in the clinch as part of the more holistic Thai judging system. It doesn't matter if both go down, the dominance is shown by whoever lands on top, even if that isn't the fighter who initiated the dump
However, the comment "elbows score highest" almost made me laugh- elbows are same as punches, they only score if they show an effect. kicks and knees to the body score highest.
So many Tiffany fangirls in the comments that don't know muay thai scoring crying about the decision boo hoo. Caley landed more kicks and knees
Pangsta Actually she didn’t really land that many knees at all. Not sure what fight you were watching
@@LB-kr5ku waa waa waa the Aussie was to STRONG
@@LB-kr5ku waa waa waa would u like a tissue 😂
How old are you? You type like a snot nosed 8 year old.
Geoffrey Maloney Too strong! Not to strong. Once again your illiteracy comes shining through.
Daz, Chris Tiger white and caley. Best gym, best ppl. Still Sharp, training, teaching and fighting from there knowledge
Awesome fight again the girls bringing the HEAT!! Why is Adelaid Bird scoring fights? FU
First round was Caley.
Yesssssss!! Spot on definitely correct decision 😊
What a great fight.
Close and boring fight. Caley doesn't know how to use her hands, barely threw any punches, don't see how she was 18-0 going into this fight.
CALEY REECE EXPERIENCE PAYS OFF......GREAT CLINCH WORK .....OUT POINTED TIFF NARROWLY......BUT HAS VERY LITTLE BOXING SKILLS
2020Mastro it’s called real Muay Thai
@@j2dar04 So is the use of boxing. It's totally up to each fighter whether or not they want to get into clinching though it s very likely they will have to so learn the complete range.
We needed more rounds... 🤔
Tiffany lost this fight. No Doubt Good call for the winner. 👍👍👍
90% of those knees throne weren't even fucking knees they were inner thighs
Tiffany won that fight.
I watched this fight 5x and Tiffany won by 2 rounds, that's just my unofficial scorecard!
Muar thai boxing techniques fly knee elbow
to take a belt of the champ you have to do more than that in my eyes
maybe your blind
@@jirijiri6355 no i just can see it better than you peri peri
@@markparry1174 if You watch it in same way like my name 😆😂🤣 then I agree with You..
Both fighters was good but i thought tiffiny took the fight!!!
were good,,,,,
Oyear Tiffany cant clinch training in Thailand she need it
It's kinda hard to clinch your opponent when they are a foot taller than u...
Reece is a better mover and kicker, hands down. She deserved to win.
Reece didnt send a single punch ..and she won..hummm
The Aussie won it fair and square.. knees score more than punches... to much experience for the yank.. tiff tiff was way out classed 😁
@@geoffreymaloney6475 those "knees" were just thigh ribs to tiff tiffs butt
I believe you meant that the Aussie was way out classed. Thats how the rest of the world saw it.
Don't know why the crowd was booing reece was by far the better fighter.
Good to watch after all this time
wrong call,but
Hell no!!!! Tiffany won that fight. That Euro chick betta be thankful for points for sorry ass clinching and ineffective knees. Tiffany was dancing with those feet.....great defense. Tiffany had her kicking the air the whole fight. Footwork like Muhammad Ali. I want a re-fight
Looking Up All truth
The kid has a lot more to learn in and outside the ring.
You look like you're 12 yrs old.

I've watched this a few times very close fight I had a draw as a even score
Then, you, along with the judges, are smoking crack. No way did Reece win.
💖Carli Reese 💋great fight keep up the great work 💋💞 love you always💞💋
Some love when you cannot even get her name right !
Yay, the best girl won!!!!
Caley Reece looked scared from the very beginning
Your a Wanker 😂
