I found it very easy to create my own patch lead.

For some, with a little technical knowledge, it might seem a simple task. But others with zero experience are advised not to do it themselves as they could destroy their machine. Glad you were able to get it done yourself and save a few dollars at the same time.

NOTE: At approx 5.17 in the video, I refer to the cord as the cut off from the ML coil. That particular cord was in fact from a GPX power lead. There were 2 laying on the ground and I picked up the wrong one and also identified it in correctly. Sorry for any confusion.....

Can you make the patch lead to suit any other coils?

Sorry, this isn't something I do. If you join the X-coil users page on Facebook, there is a guy - David Gibb who does them pretty much for everyone in Australia.

Are the x coils better than the 14 from minelab

Absolutely! They make a huge difference. The 14 is terrible and very old design.

    How to download the file

Here is the download link, but it is highly suggested to be done by a professional. Doing it yourself can result in disaster, ie; a dead detector and Minelab will not fix it. tolnix.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Short-X-coil-Adapter-Instruction-Manual-V2.1.pdf
