Thank you for being so detailed and showing each and every step. I hate when people just rush through instructions and directions and don’t show things clearly, especially for newbies. 😉
I've watched a lot of zipper bag tutorials but never have I seen such a detailed explanation. I learned a lot of super handy tricks just by watching this tutorial. I love the little zip-tie made of matching leftover zipper. I have a collection of leftover zipper so now I know what to do with it. Doubling back on the serger so that the tail gets caught up in the serging at the beginning is genius. Thank you for taking the time to share this fun project!
I’ve made a lot of these ...small out of anything from chocolate bar bags to large from bags of bird seed. Very cute...and useful. I line with fabric, add iron on vinyl to outside. Reese’s pieces wrappers perfect for receipts...
You are an amazing instructor, thank you, so much for the guiding me through slowly and showing closeups , so you can see the detail of what your trying to convey to your viewer.. I've been wanting to try the candy bags, so, now I believe this will be easier for me as you've explained so well. Plus, I have an Ovation, so, I will do the zipper with the serger, thanks again. I will subscribe.. Jean
This is one of the best videos for making a zippy bag I have watched!!! Thank you so very much. I am heading over to your FB page to sign up!!! Please keep making RUclips videos!!!

I just got done watching this lovely tutorial of yours and would like to know if you ever heard back from the M&M company regarding their copy right laws for reselling these bags ? Great informational ideas! Thank you!
Love all your video tutorials Missy.....love having you on You Tube also.....I watch your FB & You Tube..You are sooo good at instruction & are just so much fun.......please keep sharing on You Tube....thank you!
Awesome video. This bag will be great for my 95 year young Mama. She saves everything...especially candy bags. She also love Oreo's. Guess what her Valentine's Day will be? Please do more videos. Love it!
This is the first time I’ve watched you. I picked up so many pointers. We have the same machines. I want to learn more about the surger. I’m headed to Facebook to get you there. Thanks
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Is there a place online where I can purchase the written instructions for how to make these bags? I’m a very slow learner I’m afraid and need both video and print to figure things out. You did an excellent job and sincerely hope you’re doing well. I know from following you that this has been a very difficult time for you and I am so sorry! Take care, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Great video. You mentioned that people had asked if the candy bags once made into these cute zipper bags could be sold. You said you had a message into the Mars company and you would post their reply in the description part of the video. I didn't see what the reply was. Could you let me know what they said? Thank you so much.
Great video! I've made a few of these and was trying to figure out how to do them with paper-specifically nautical charts. The standard way, the vinyl was fine but the paper always ripped when I turned them because it is rather thick. Now I will try with just the chart on one side and fabric on the other and see what happens. Has anyone else tried with paper, or seen it done?
Martha Bennett Yes. I used a Lindt bag. Sewed strips of fabric on each side before I applied the vinyl. I did have a tear issue. Covered it with Fray Check.
Love your video! I see some Tootsie Roll fabric I like there too! How much do you sell your bags for? Like coin purse size or the Oreo size? Thank you so much!
love the video and easy to follow instructions. I was wondering if you got an answer to whether or not we are allowed to sell our bags. Awesome, keep them coming. :)
@@missybstitchin thank you for replying and thanks so much for the inspiration and tips. I made a lays chip bag last night for my kids'toy chips. They loved it.
I'm watching your video now, I'm up to the part where you just attached the zipper to the Oreo bag. How would you go about creating a zippered bag out of the candy bags that have the ziploc closures and the "boxed" off bottom (the bottom is expandable)?
In my experience, you have to cut that part off... You can TRY to peel off the zipper part, but sometimes it is rather melted onto the bag, so it has to be cut off. If you try to peel it off, you can end up ripping your precious bag! Ask me how I know :'( You can experiment with the boxed part at the bottom of the bag, but again, I usually have had to cut that off. It ends up being too bulky if you try to keep it on. In that case, you just have a front side and a back side, with a seam down the middle. It's not a big problem. Instead of sewing down two sides, you just sew a U shape all the way around the bag, from the first side, across the bottom, and then up the second side.
I saw a video where when she sliced off the sides, it released that “expandable” bottom, in essence making the bag a single longer sheet. The video was by SEWVERYEASY.
Thank you for being so detailed and showing each and every step. I hate when people just rush through instructions and directions and don’t show things clearly, especially for newbies. 😉
I love how you describe the steps. You inspire everyone that watches your videos. Thank you!

I cut them off.I wish I could find a way to use them, and not mess with a zipper, but I haven't YET
