He is absolutely the best in this genre . No one......I repeat no one......comes close. The lyrics are like poetry. His performance is electrifying and unlike some of the "pretenders to the title of The Best" you can understand the words. The band has changed through the years but he has his stamp on it. He is as much fun today as he was in the late 70's. Could listen to him m all day long.
Bob Seger I was in my early teens my brother frizbed tossed me Seger on 8 track. He said check this out. Hooked I was truly hooked on any n all he did. I'm older now so is Bob but I listen to the his everyday when I wakeup it gets absolutely no better. I still get chills n sing along to all his music. What a man. He was a blessing a gift to us Rock on always old rockers who love Seger.Tell a story can't he!!!
music reflects the culture.New bands are all inhabited with real peopke..Your comment doesn't give those newbies a chance . ..no music deserves to be called crap..did you vote for frump?Hahahahaha?
I have LOVED Bob Seger since the '70's. My all-time favorite! My chauffeur hubby got to drive him here in St. Louis ---- the ONLY time we decided we could not afford to buy tickets. Literally EVERY other time Bob came here, we did whatever was necessary to buy tickets. This last year when we couldn't figure it, we didn't buy tickets. Hubby and and I joked about how hubby would get to drive Bob, never thinking this would actually happen. Lo and behold, I sat home alone while hubby got to drive Bob Seger. I was pi$$ed at my husband for WEEKS because he came within just several feet of Bob Seger while I sat home alone . And now I'm pi$$ed all over again at hubby because EVERY time I hear "Roll Me Away", whether in concert or otherwise, it is cathartic for me. And I fear it might have been my last chance to hear it live. This song ALWAYS gives me chills and tears in a wonderful freeing way. Hopefully "next time, I'll get it right".!!!
Bob's still got it. Close your eyes and it's the early 80's all over again. And, man, does it look like he's having fun here or what? Legendary. And, the Silver Bullet Band always sounds tight. The names of some of them have changed over the years, but Bob definitely knows how to put a band together. Such a great mix of sounds that make up his music, and you can hear all of the different pieces throughout the song...keyboards, the big sax, guitars, the background vocals, the great beat from the drums and the bass... and Bob's lead vocals all blending together, yet distinct, to make up his signature sound. How can anyone who loves music not love this guy?
He came out on the "comeback tour" and started with this one. The party was on! The party was on! It was like he never left! That's what is known as "music that stands up"! Thanks, Bob!
+MrFitzy2009 If I were going to die tomorrow and could chose one concert for my last night it would be Bob Seger. No question. This guy is just incredible. Rock on Bob!!
This my friends is real honest to goodness rock and freaking roll music!!! he may be 72 but he is still rocking his ass off and sounds pretty damn good to me!
Bon is still having fun making music and playing concerts. he isn't just doing it for the money. I passed up tickets to see him in 1988 to work overtime because I needed the money in college.
I've seen Bob somewhere around 10 times, including the Double Live Bullet Cobo show. I grew up in SE Michigan. I own a 68 Camaro, and it's a little known fact that, while working on old Detroit Heavy Metal, it's a law that you MUST have a beer handy and Bob Seger on the tune box!!!!
John Richardson That's cool Bro, It just sounded funny, I'm sure it was not a nafairise statement. Old Bob is looking good for his age, wish I could say the same for myself.
+Sevin Poe that's because true fans of Bob Sager consider him A family member who you have not seen in a long time. By the way comments like that are made out of l Love and respect, I would guess.
Bob nailed this song but some of his songs like, Night Moves , his voice sounds tired! I think that years of smoking took it's toll on him but regardless he's still an awesome performer!
Truly in a vey, very, special group of singer/songwriters who can be called "iconic". Springsteen falls into the same category. Both men have stood the test of time. I just happen to favor Bob over Bruce.
What an ARTIST, what EMOTION, what a SONG what a PERFORMANCE

an American music legend that sings with Passion and from the Heart...I miss the 70''s and 80's
Bob has lost weight and has quit smoking. He sounds better than ever. Love this song!! Thanks for sharing!
God I love him.. Just saw him do this song.....still the same after all these years.....

This is music. This is a band. This is real talent. Not like the crap pretending to be a band today.
+AD77 You got that RIGHT!!!!

Great story. Thanks for sharing.
Bob is the kind of person you want to have a few beers with and shoot a couple games of pool.
Thats is on the top of my list.

Couldn't have said it better A1. I still believe we had the best music. Nothing like it since.
a good majority of the silver bullet band has been with him for years.
A1: I was thinking the same thing--he looks like he is truly enjoying himself. Great for him and even greater for us fans!
He came out on the "comeback tour" and started with this one. The party was on! The party was on! It was like he never left! That's what is known as "music that stands up"! Thanks, Bob!

+Sevin Poe The guy that yelled that was a few seats away, and he said him and his Wife had seen him 24 times, long time fans :)
John Richardson That's cool Bro, It just sounded funny, I'm sure it was not a nafairise statement. Old Bob is looking good for his age, wish I could say the same for myself.
