Akio Morita Demonstrates Digital Camera on Today Show with Tom Brokaw, 1980

In 1980, Sony founder and CEO Akio Morita went on the Today show and demonstrated Sony's new Mavica digital camera for Tom Brokaw. The camera used special diskettes and came with a playback device. Few people watching this broadcast back then could have predicted how revolutionary the device was, and how digital photography was destined to replace film for almost all purposes within just a few decades.
