yeah, but in one of my 3.5hp vids I put the crank in the lathe to turn it down to a size that would fit a clutch I have. I could machine off the taper if I ever get the engine finished!
Also you might want to check your end play for your crankshaft when using that sealer instead of a gasket because the gaskets are designed to be .05'' to .010'' so there isn't too much play in the crankshaft
you forgot to adjust valve tappet clearance, adjust your rings on the piston for blow by, and torque the head bolts to 165 lbs otherwise you will warp the head on the cylinder!!! but that's your choice.
They're quite nice looking engines aren't they, once all the cr*p's been removed. Would look nice in a Mini-Bike or Chopper. Did you ever use it in anything?
Well these Briggs engines do not have adjustable tapers, you can grind the valves shorter if needed, but I had checked this before assembly. The rings are stock for the stock bore. This isn't exactly a hi performance engine!
Yeah they are really nice looking engines! Search for "Brenton Newton Briggs" on Google and look for an article on pipeburn. com (RUclips won't let me post links! ). Really cool 8hp Briggs bike. I will get a vid of this engine on RUclips soon hopefully!
I thought I was having a rough time with my 8 horse briggs. Then I watched this video lol.

@dejo1976
It just needs some last adjustments. The weather got bad, so its been sitting in the shed for a while
@HackLover007
Ha yeah, was borrowing my parents camera and wasn't sure of the settings
Yeah, I needed to get the vid done but didn't have a gasket in time. I got some gasket material and made one before running
@Motormaniavs1997
It's in there, just hard to see at the angle the camera was at

OK, @1:30, HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU TIME THE DAMN CRANK WITH A BEARING HIDING THE TIMING MARK?!?!
