I created my own front dig setup back in 2005. I was featured in several RC mags. I used a switch to cut power to the rear motor. I was geared 66:1 so the wheels wouldn't turn. 4 wheel steer is a must for front dig. You'll get a tighter turn radius & avoid your rear wheels being drug. I recently shot a lot of footage after giving it some love from sitting all those years.
I have dig on my scx10.3 ……bought it used and the dig servo worked for a day! Servo was bad so replaced it with the same spektrum servo, worked for a day and quit. Put a totally different style servo in it and again, worked for a day! So I installed a HW fusion system with a spektrum 3 channel receiver ….so far so good…the end points seem fine with barely pushing passed the servo saver cam. I didn’t know end points were adjustable on the factory transmitter! Good info….I have since switched over to my DX5 also.
Yeah setting shift servo endpoints can be a pain!! If they aren't 100%, then the servo will overheat and blow. I went through a few SX107's on my SCX10.3 as well and then just decided to lock out 2-speed and DIG out of frustration lol. I might have to try with a better servo and see if I can order the 25T servo saver adapter separately.
I really like the dig function, I'll take it over rear steer any day. Not because I think dig is easier or far better than rear steer, but it is more fun, challenging, and thought-provoking in my opinion. I like the more realistic options and while there are plenty of rear steer rigs IRL, dig was easy enough that just about anybody could do it. Both systems will have their situational advantages and disadvantages so maybe it's best to have both?
I think someone is trying to run a scam posing as you, telling me to telegram them. Just letting you know before they scam somebody and give you a bad name. I almost fell for one thru rcsparks, and I realized he wouldn't anything like that. Just thought you should know.
That looks like a nice addition to the BaseCamp! On a side note - my BaseCamp looks like it gets more lock to lock steering angle than what yours is getting.
I know! I don't remember the steering being so wide. I did check the endpoints and at full steer the steering links just clear the diff covers, so it should be set properly!?
This video comes just in time because I just bought the base camp and I'm seeing what improvements I can add to it, I have the slt3 and I am new to this hobby, how would the configuration be done with that controller?
Looks like the STL3 can only be programmed in "momentary" mode. Unfortunately the manual for the STL is not helpful and doesn't say how to program AUX. I'll ask the Axial guys and get back to you
Just heard back - they said "Technically it will work but you won’t have proper end point adjustment, which, of course, is not ideal for servo life. I recommend upgrading the transmitter." A DX3 ($99 bit.ly/42shcRT ) or a DX5C ($149 bit.ly/3qpQ0pB ) would be good options.
@@RCGirl I am immensely grateful to you for the answer and for the help in looking for the answer with the guys from axial. =D I don't know if you have a tutorial on how to do the procedure with the dx5 but a video with both dx3 and dx5 transmitters would be great.
The basecamp has to be one of the most capable straight out of the box 😍😍
Always good to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it!!!! Great vid!!!
I found the dig on my 10.3 jlu helped me a lot at my first comp last week

Both are a must. See my above comment.
Super vidéo 📼
I've never had dig before I'm more of an old school crawler guy also never had portals so I've yet to experience all this lol 👍👌
Love the technology the rear diff lock is great I'm not into rock crawlers though off road maybe with some speed
I still have AX10 scorpion that i have dig and 4ws. Each has it's uses.
My AX10 wouldn't be half the rig it is without dig. I still get a lot of fun out of it and my kids are learning to enjoy it as well.
I've got the dig on my early bronco, comes in handy at times. My rtr didn't come with a spectrum manual so good info on programmability.

Great video!! Thank you for showing how to program ch3 on a Spektrum radio too!! I could never get the two speed conversion right on my Ryft!
Neither could I! I just put the 2-speed lockout in my ryft haha

@@RCGirl Yeah, that sounds right.
you are amazing ..................... keep it up
Very nice setup and the pricing is great. I also like having servo options
Wow, have some cake with that frosting 😂
Frosting is the best part!! 🤭
My favorite RC car channel, if you have a chance, please review TRACTION HOBBY 1/8 f150. thank you😁🎶❤️👍
Great video. Thanks 😊
love the vids👍 but what brand of RC stand is that?
This stand is seriously amazing. It's from Ernst RC "Ultimate Hobby Stand" amzn.to/46GePhZ
what happened to the hobby shop tour videos? i was looking forward to seeing the rc nuts.
RC Nutz is next! Just spreading them out a bit. Aiming for next week
Isnt dig just like using the hand break or emergency brake to lock up the rear wheels? If you are going for scale realism I guess.
Hello, interesting and simple modification. Thank you very much, beautiful. A kiss ❤😍😘
Is the dig mod compatible with the stock spektrum transmitter?

What servo arm did you get or use to actuate it
Nah!
Great video though, thank you!
That would be 'decreasing' the radius. Smaller radius, smaller turning circle. Larger radius, larger turning circle.
Ah yes. Duh! 😂
4:55 lol
🧁👌
Base, camp -- a little narrow, but good anyhow.
Lol of course they recommend spektrum, just another part waiting to fail, spektrum is trash.
NOPE 🌿
