Great video for watering one time/day. Please show us how to set the timer when I water the lawn 2 times/day. At 5 am all stations for 10 minutes and at 8 pm 3 stations for 7 minutes and 2 stations for 4 minutes. Thank you very much.
I’m new at this so why does my screen blink OF-2? What does that mean? I just bought a house and the system is all messed up. I finally figured out where the sprinkler system is. Just turned it on and I tried to look online for an answer. All these videos are showing me how to set it up. Now I know how to turn it on but why does it flash?

My controller looks exactly like this, but instead of Ittitrol, it says Hardie. It does say RD-1200. It’s worked for many years. Then I went away on vacation for two weeks, and came home to dead lawns and almost dead shrubs, etc. I know how to program it, and everything looks good. But it won’t start the sprinklers - not when scheduled, and not when I try to force a manual run. I replaced the 9-volt battery, but that didn’t help. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. Can anybody help? Any suggestions? Thanks!

It still DOES NOT make sense! According to that video ALL 12 stations will start at the same time? ALL 12 stations will have the exact same schedule? How can I set Valve 3 to start at 7:00am, 2:00pm, and 9:00pm and Valve 7 to start at 7:30am, 3:00pm, and 9:30pm? It sure looks like you set ALL programs to run at the exact same time for the exact duration. I am using mine for a vegetable garden and different zones need different start times, different durations, and some need to be watered 3 times a day while another zone only needs twice a day. How can this controller be set for that type of schedule?
This was presented at the right speed for learning something new. The pink arrow should be applied to all segments of the video because it is impossible to see where the black dial is being turned in your video. Vocabulary of various components of your timer are most important to viewere's overall understanding . Go through them first, checking for understanding in a Q & A scene. Then procede with the video. Suggestion: Ask important questions at the end and provide the answers to check for understanding.
We had a power outage recently. My Current Time keeps flashing 'OF8' and a time but does not stay displayed as current time. I placed a new battery and all settings were still retained and even powered it down. What do I need to do?
I switched my controller to OFF at the very bottom because it has been rainy as of late. However the whole system waters as if it was in the RUN position. Any ideas? I don't want to water if it is pouring outside.

Thank you for a thorough and well-produced video. While it didn't cover every question that I have, I now feel I know enough to use the manual for my remaining questions.
Do the stations ever turn on simultaneously or do they turn on sequentially: station 1 first, then when station 1 runs it's programed time it turns off and station 2 starts, etc.?
I just determined than indeed the start times (1,2,3) apply to the stations sequentially. For example, if you have Start time 1 set for 10 am and start time 2 set for 12 pm, and station 1 set for 1 hour and station 2 set for 2 hours it will run as follows: At 12 pm station 1 will run for 1 hour and when that 1 hour is through then station 2 will activate and run for 2 hours. THEY DO NOT RUN SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Now if the stations start times and durations overlap then in theory there should be a period where they will run simultaneously. I will put it to the test and comment.

I have RD-600-R with 4 zones set on my timer and would like to have it run 3 times a day (Desired settings: 0200 @5mins, 0600 @2mins & 1900 @3mins). I also have the system running 3 days a week. My issue is that I want: Zone 1 & 2 to run for 5mins @0200, 2mins @0600 & @1900 to run for 3mins. Zone 3 & 4 to run for 3mins @0200, 1mins @0600 & @ 1900 to run for 1min. What I have set currently is: Zones 1-4 is running for 5mins @0200, 4mins @0600 and 4mins @1900. Is it possible to have the timer set up this way?
I just called Irritrol at: 1-800-634-TURF (8873). I didn't believe they would help but I was blown away by their fast response and excellent help. All of these videos say not to bother with the "A, B, or C" start times...this is what is needed to water my lawn and garden 3 times a day with different duration periods. Currently Zones 1-4 are running 3 times a day for 5 minuets, which the total running time for water usage is 15 minuets per day. The desired running time for the Zones using start times (A @0200), (B @0600) & (C @1900) are: A: Zones 1 & 2 running for 5 minutes @0200. A: Zones 3 & 4 running for 3 minutes @0200. B: Zones 1 & 2 running for 2 minutes @0600. B: Zones 3 & 4 running for 1 minute @0600. C: Zones 1 & 2 running for 3 minutes @1900. C: Zones 3 & 4 running for 1 minute @1900. So far my lawn is very dry due to the water evaporating by morning and this new schedule will keep my yard irrigated all day. This still totals 15 minutes of watering time but hopefully I can get this to a total of 10 minutes of watering time. Yes it does, on the back of your controller. You will need to change the battery every season (reccommended), otherwise the controller will revert back to a default program of Program A) Every day ON, All station run times at 10 min, Start time 1 at 7am. If you ever need help, you can call Irritrol and they will answer all of your troubleshooting questions.
No one seems to want to do a video on how B AND C programs work. If I set up a B program to just water stations 4 and 6 on Wednesday. Do I have to manually switch the controller to B each time I want this to happen?

@@deonpeel1401 I got mine figured out. Been thinking about doing a video but keep forgetting. Let me try to explain it here. Set up your yard on "A" with the dates and times as usual. Do not set up zone 1 on "A". Now set up "B" with all the settings you want for zone 1. Do not to overlap A and B run times. Once you have all that done switch the A-B selector switch to RUN. Then you are done.
Part 3: If I switch to program "C" it gives me days of the week to select from. I've manually started my stations to see which starts what and notated them on the card provided in the box. The drip lines to the plants don't seem to function at all. I manually started all 6 zones. 1,2 and 3 are the only 1's that seem to work. They hit my 3 grass areas. For now I set everything for 10 mins @ 6;30am so I can see if they come on tomorrow morning. If they do, I will change them to about 4am.

I have an RD 600 Controller, I live in Arizona, and my problem is the 9 volt backup battery only lasts about 1 week & then I have to replace it. What causes this? Thanks for any help.
if it can run your sprinklers, you still have power, which means the batteries should not drain. this is an internal issue. you can also check your power source, if it is 24V AC, most likely your controller has an internal issue; if power source is less than 24V AC, the transformer is bad. these things can happen at any controller age from 10-25 years old. at that point you will want to will want to send in for repair or replace controller. if past 10 yrs old, I'd say best route is to replace whole unit.

If number 2 station has a bad solenoid will the timer automatically go to number 3 station or just shut down…?

System works on manual. Timer set to correct time. When time is reached nothing happens. Any thoughts please?

Never mind. I figured it out! I completely dismantled the controller and then put it back together and now it’s working. Have no idea why!

Mine comes on twice a day and I have it set only for once a day. Any reason to why? Start time is at 8am. Yet the sprinklers come on at 3am and 8am.
Check to see if B or C is set to start at 3 am, I wish they had covered how A, B and C work on this controller.

Part 2: I also noticed the model in the video is an RD-1200. Mine says RD-600-R.
