Honestly, this is the best way to go in my opinion. The only benefits from an aftermarket intake is the sound. There is plenty of evidence to support the fact that the OEM intake doesn't bottleneck power and the only gains people are getting from intakes is due to lower restriction (worse filtration) - In which case you might as well just add a K&N filter to fit your OEM airbox... This on the other hand, adds a bit of nice eye-candy to the engine bay and ACTUALLY will help reduce intake air temperature without sacrificing filtration and engine longevity.
Hey, thanks for the comment, we really appreciate it. I think it's a great option for the standard engine, the Pipercross filter and the Forge intake scoop is an improvement over the standard set up, and you are so right about the eye candy, but i might be just a carbon fanatic. However on the intake side of things, we've spent a fair bit of time with Pipercross and dyno runs, different set ups and looking for power with an intake, and they're close. If your looking for power the standard airbox is likely to have to go. I guess we'll see more when more intakes hit the market, and when there is more of the GR Yaris on the road.
Hey, Thanks for the comment, We can do, the issue is as we have Turbosmart BOV fitted and a Remus exhaust system it is hard to hear intake noise, but we will look into it to see if we can get anything, as it is just the duct it is just air flow and not sucked in like an intake would do, so there is little sound.
Hey, Thanks for the comment, it's something we haven't noticed to be honest. I guess it will be feeding the air into the right places and then be sucked up, so not necessary to have a sealed unit. but good feedback.
I noticed on the Forge website that they sell inlet pipes to replace standard from the back of the air box to the engine and claim 4-5 hp gain with increased air flow. Would you be fitting these? Would like to see the results opinions of anyone with this pipework.
So, as there's a vacuum valved inlet added, are we saying there only needs to be a set amount air going in at a pre-described rev range - then the valve opens?
Hey, sorry for our delayed response. Yeah the Vacuum valve opens when the vehicle needs it, this is standard on the GR yaris, not something we have added, a pretty cool addition though, it's when we see things like this you see why the vehicle costs what it does and feels so good on track and driving at speed.
Hey, Thanks for the comment, to be honest, we have the Turbosmart valve which gives us a fair bit of noise, however it does have a lot more air passing through, so you may get a bit of intake noise. We have sold a few already so as soon as i see some feedback we can let you know if they have a standard model aswell.

Please make a sound-test video with this intake installed. It would be interesting to her the induction noise in the cabin.

Nice solution. Only the fitment where the snorkel is connected to the air Box could be more snug in my opinion

Do you lose the piped in artificial noise to the cabin with this installed or is it still there?
Hey, Thanks for the comment, This has not removed any of that, it takes away just the plastic duct at the start of the standard airbox system.
Does it make any sound difference?

Oh dear, oh dear.
