It's hard to be in agreement of this thesis when the core idea suggests Palantir is tending toward the small-to-medium size business market with their product offerings (or needs to do this to become a trillion dollar company), when we've heard time and time again that Palantir have no interest in trying to solve those kinds of business problems (it's like breaking up Foundry into a Storage module to compete with Snowflake to solve storage efficiency). Palantir is in the business of solving HARD problems, INDSTRY problems, SUPPLY CHAIN problems, DATA problems. A Zero to One move (which this thesis also doesn't align with in my opinion) would be to build a digital twin of the entire market (indstry, sector, supply chain, country) i.e. Skywise, Hospital systems/supply chains, Banking, Ukraine. In building a digital twin of the market (or a large part of it), you redefine what people conveive as business problems. As long as Palantir believe in being a Zero to One company their competition will look radically different from what we're seeing currently. Personally, their competition will be something that will manifest itself through a new kind of Artificial Intelligence not robotic process automation.

I like the pattern for UIPATH. SYM is another good option.

Here’s the deal, it’s a Palantir 20 years to build what they have. It took Palantir 20 years to make the name that they’ve made for themselves on the street. Nobody and I mean nobody can step in now and compete with this company.
They own the space end of story

I asked Codestrap about UiPath at least a year ago. He's not a fan of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Helped me understand and make the decision to dump PATH and get more Palantir. I'll take his perspective over Cathie's.

I dont know what this dude is talking about, but let me tell u my perpective, a person that implemented RPA, I had 70% of my portfolio in uipath and then went all in in palantir. Bonus, i'm from the country where the company was founded. So:
    1) Uipath, maybe cheap vs Palantir, but is expensive vs its peers (this also solves another point made in the video, that uipath doesnt have competition), AA Automation, Servicenow, etc.
    2) If something changes on the "screen" (fields, folders, rows. etc), the entire thing needs to be reprogrammed (this is to address the fact that "you forget about it, once implemented"). And this comes with cost and with potential activity disruption.
    3) Dont know who this guy thinks is the owner, but I can tell u is no David Times or whatever he is saying there, but Daniel Dines.
    4) Stock wise - expensive price/share for a company that is losing money and there is no view on when it will become profitable. It IPO at a price of aprox 50-55 dollars/ share and then got to some 90 (crazy!).

I have studied UiPath before but decided not to invest. What they’re essentially is a data automation and collector. In technology viewpoint, there’s no MOAT. Although they have sticky customer adherence, there’s a higher risk that similar competitors will rise with same offering but with lower price. The key of this company is its execution and growing trend. Very similar as SMCI, both of them have strong execution but no MOAT

This seemed more like an idea you come up with while you are on the throne and once you get out of the bathroom and the air is cleaner things no longer seem to make sense after all.

I am imagining UIPath automating PLTR software usage further reducing time to get insights. It is highly unlikely but would be an insane feat.

Hmm not sure about this one. Microsoft have the power platform that they continually iterate on to provide this exact same value proposition uiPath is offering

  • @fritzstauff
    @fritzstauff Год назад +1

Not sure about this. Palantir will have access to the end product employees are producing and the raw source data. I feel that training AI against that will be better than a AI that just watches screens all day.

I'm a long hold in PLTR. Idea - Marketing Automation grew around Eloqua/Marketo and then over time Hubspot grew from the bottom up and became a player in field. Same with Joomla/Drupal. This eventually led to WordPress. I wonder if over time UiPath will grow to compete with PLTR in the small-to-middle market. thoughts? If UiPath is on that path, it might take them 5-7+ years?

Amit do you have any concerns that compared to the month before earnings last time, Alex has been almost oddly quiet. Frankly it is making me nervous. Before last earnings Alex was basically saying we r going to crush estimates without actually saying it. This time he’s been basically outta sight for about the last month as far as i can gather. Any thoughts

Alex also needs to command the company and important sales. PR shouldn't be his full time job. Don't stress for non issues.

Amit, my man. Have you looked into the company Anduril? I have no idea how that company is generally doing, but it seems to me, that this company is trying to replicate PLTRs succes. At least from the outside. I know that they work together with PLTR on the Titan project, but come on, the company also chose a name from LOTR, and their company webpage looks to be a complete knockoff from PLTRs webpage. Anduril is doing C-UAS, but also AI and machine learning in order to create bigger mission autonomy, faster kill chains, better C2 etc. Things that PLTR is heavily focused on. Would love to hear your thoughts on this company. I am heavy into PLTR, so I am just wondering how serious a threat to PLTR, you believe this company to be in the future.
