Can you look into the impacts or improvements that come from sprint athletes working on a rowing machine? I’m just asking because I have seen improvements simply from the fact that it teaches you to put more force into the ground
I just let you know if you're Christian I would suggest for you not to curse.I believe that God would not approve you cursing and if you're not Christian may God help you and bless you.
I imagine a wall is behind my back, and after the ground contact, I try my landing leg not to touch the imaginal wall, that image makes my ground contact shorter and recovery of the legs more faster.
I remember doing plyometrics in college in the 80s. And I remember how much strength and speed (power) I gained... watching my high jump teammate's eyes bug out as I blew him off the track running curves.
For me, I used to run a 4.3 40 with little training. I just did lunges/high skips. I’m also 6’2 and played a lot of bball and football. On top of god given talent.
@@trevonjoyner1102 thats just not the case cause if someone with bad genetics were to work hard and get to a elite level someone with excellent genetics will always be better, even if they work harder cause theres only so much you can do
@@haventseenhim I would gradually add them into your workouts starting at 1-2 plyo sessions per week. This will help prevent injury since plyo exercises generate a lot of stress in the lower legs. Maybe start with 4-5 exercises for 3 sets of 6 reps each and work up from there.

Usain Bolt has one of the longest ground contact times of elite sprinters. Does GCT really matter? Does it correlate with lower limb length? Taller= longer. Maybe there is a ratio?
How do u run a 2 mile cross country race faster? i get 1st barley and i cant improve any tips? I have a race tmr i got butterflys bc my coach has high expectations....
3-5 sets with 3-6 reps no more reps than that as you will get tired and not produce maximum force focus on ground contact time so keeping your legs mostly straight and getting up as fast as posssiblr and longer geound contact times with more force so squatting a little and exploding up so yes do both
@@edwindez484 do you mean the stretch shortening cycle? That’s just a cycle what you use to evaluate ground contact times think of it like a graph then the exercises are what you put into the graph to make it happen
@@edwindez484 no you don’t do exercises especially those that have to do with speed and producing the maximum amount of force in short amounts of time you don’t want to go for long but go really hard for a short amount of time
You want more ground time tho , the faster you go the less ground time you have therefore causing less force to be able to push off the ground eventually maxing out your speed that’s why it’s so important to do strength training cause you need more power the less time you have on the ground
Just run as easy.... all these fancy shit aint gonna help hahaha only for the snobs, look at these african runners.... running on sand lol no fancy shit just run

Hey this is @marsha_du_ running in the curve ! You should give credit to athletes if not it’s stealing
You were speaking too fast bro
Thank you for the help
Skipping rope is also a great exercise to shorten contact time and strengthen ankle and calve muscles
I will try that 🙏
Skipping rope is also enjoyable. The exercises shown here will not be performed outside of a trainer demanding it.
Double unders ftw
Facts, @@jakemccoy .
Those depth jumps can get real boring at times (speaking from personal experience).
@@jakemccoy so what exercises can be done then?
Damn that is beautiful when the camera follows a world class athlete around the curve

Depth jumps are very intense on the calves and tendons. It is recommended to only do a set of them once or twice a week.

what do you recommennd for someone who wants to get into plyometrics
Running over the steps 😅 would also help you improve stamina and endurance
I miss track! All the schools here (which are public) close them off to the public.
That’s dumb maybe if you talk to a coach or something they’d let you use it when the team’s not practicing

yes

pretty sure they are good for top speed but even if they’re not, it’s good for running in general. so do them anyways

Easier to tell than to do it..what is happening in the video clips is edited for effect. Try it normal settings and see how it turns out.

I have near zero ground contact time. As soon as I start rolling my bicycle wheels I can take as long as 4 hours to stop 😂

My problem is that I keep running out of stamina in 3 seconds and end up never regaining it
