Originally produced in 1971 and updated in 1995, the New American Standard Bible has been widely embraced and trusted as a literal English translation. Now, the NASB 2020 improves accuracy where possible, modernizes language, and improves readability. These refinements maintain faithful accuracy to the original texts and provide a clear understanding of God’s Word to those who prefer more modern English standards. The long-established translation standard for the NASB remains the same as it always has been, that is to accurately translate the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts of the Bible into modern English that is clearly understandable today.

Unlike the previous layout, both the verse cross references and the footnotes are in list format, having each referenced verse on a separate line, making it very easy to locate the verse.

Thank you for reviewing these beautiful Bibles. I only wish you had given us the measurements. I’m interested in knowing not only the text size but also with and length. Thanks again. Have a blessed day.

The new 95 SCR Korea print/paper is way better than the 2017 blue tint Saran wrap paper.

Nice review, Do you know of anything with a similar footprint size to the Lockman LP compact, with 9+ font size? Trying to get one but the UK suppliers seem to be struggling to get stock so looking for an alternative. (NASB 2020)

Nice looking Bible. I was waiting to get the calfskin edition but goodness gracious not wanting to spend over $200… Do you think that would be worth it?

This could have been perfect if it was RED LETTER- we’ll this is a very nice Bible but I do like my classic center column reference red letter NASB - verse by verse 1995. - yes mine also has some ghosting - & I love that it has headings via out

Definitely agree with the red letter. Or better yet, blue letter. I do like the words of Christ in red or blue letter, more so blue letter.

That spine is still a disaster. We don't need a novella on there. You're right about the presentation pages, but as I've said before, the NASB comes from a very utilitarian mindset. The versification makes the pages look like long checklists. I kind of hate it, but it looks a little better in the poetic sections. Clearer breaks between each paragraph would help. (The Matthew 2-3 spread looks okay thanks to the additional in-text headers breaking things up.)

Can I ask you a question I’ve been a KJV guy my whole entire salvation I’ve been saved 6 years now I recently reached out to a different translation to get a better understanding and grasp on Gods Word but I’ve had people criticize me I’m trying to understand why on psalm 78:36 they used deceived instead of flattered im trying to understand does that mean they deceived God because God cannot be deceived I’m almost to the point of returning the Nasb translation that I just purchased please help me to understand thank you

The latest NASB actually has "flattered." The Hebrew word can be translated "deceived," which the KJV does in other places. The idea I think is they were trying to deceive God with lip service, or flattery.

@@AFrischPerspective Thank you so much I’ve never had another translation and I was so afraid I messed up because people were telling me that I have a satanic version that was written to discredit the Bible and I was like I can’t have that

@@AFrischPerspective cause the one I bought was the MacArthur study bible in NASB and I think it the 1995 version of the NASB
