If you commonly use a particular color ramp you can change the label names in properties>symbology, export your color map to resuse. When you create a legend, the labels will reflect what you renamed the values to.
Such a time saver. I would have exported it to Inkscape and manually create the gradient. And trust me, it would have been a big waste of time. Thanks so much.

for arcmap i think just on your current map just go to the top, hit view, then hit layout view, and there's an option to insert colorbar and legend
