The trick is to type your email out and copy it. Once it hits 7:00 you hit refresh button and type your name in and then control + V your email. Another trick is to try to get a time that doesn’t end in :00 because more people will be trying to sign up for those times. I signed up for 10:40 last week even though I wanted 10:00 because I figured more people will be trying to sign up for 10:00 or 11:00 at the same time and there’d be less competition for 10:40. I am a resident and I was able to get a reservation for my family but you have to use a computer so you can type faster, the phone is too slow. I like the reservation system and I like that the numbers are limited because it’s less busy. I agree about saving spots for locals. If you are a slow typer, I suggest getting a computer-savvy friend or family member to help!
@@user-db9lz2yl7i I agree. It sucks. But I think you can only book it one day ahead of time. It reopens everyday at 7am for the next day. I hope they figure out a way for locals to have an advantage to sign up
Note: The same program for Hanauma Bay Reservations is the same program used for Unemployment Insurance claims. :) A side note: A go fund me page has been set up so that Nathan Serota can get a shave.
This place is a joke! My family failed trying reserve spot several days. All spot taken within 4 minutes of open online reservation. One day, we decide to show up at Gate 6:45AM and got turned down by security. There are lot of cars rejected by security at gate. Huge energy and resource wasted. It's probably the only 1 place I hate most because of operation management. Given I never get in. I found other bays offer good snorkeling experience.
Sounds like tour companies are using bots to jam up the reservation system. Ebay resellers use this for special merch releases in order to nab merch that they then put on ebay for inflated prices, and the exact same kind of thing happens.
Last time I checked. The STATE of HAWAII , can’t stop the PEOPLE , from enjoying any spot or beach on the island! Do you not understand your CONSTITUIONAL rights? Seems you might believe something, that has no power or informant... might be a good idea for ALL PEOPLE to understand what OUR Constitutional rights are.....? You dont like what our system is saying? Send them a NOTICE! It is that easy.... hopefully some will understand. I get to go anytime i want to go. Good luck 👍
We've been coping with this system for campsites in Yosemite Valley for 25 years. The Europeans book whole bunches of spots so nothing left for local people. Try for times of year when there aren't so many visitors. Hanauma Bay is worth at least one time visiting. You have to watch a video once a year, so watch it and sign the book so you won't have to watch it again till next year. Relax, see what you can do and if you fail utterly, there are other places to snorkel.
It's a stupid system. Do people really need to be reminded every year to not stand on the corals. If you can't swim well enough to float on your back and clear your mask then you shouldn't be in the water. Despite the video production and repeated announcements from the lifeguards all day, every day nothing changes. Idiots! Limit the number of people and fine them steeply if they break the rules.
I attempted the online and was a fail. We went and showed up at 6am sharp and I was the first car in line. If you do the same please have everyone stay in the car. No need to have someone wait in line. By 6:05am there was the longest line behind me. Keep in mind you can wait in line on both sides of the street. Make sure you park off the roadway at the first orange cone. Get there as soon as you can. Anytime before 6am is perfect! I hope this helps! Aloha!!!
Just imagine all those tourists pissing in the water and how is sewage being taken out soon the area will die off the state doesn't own it they are only stewards they need to pay the Hawaiian people not locals but actual Hawaiian government.

Bots
People in charge making special arrangements for an undisclosed fee. Just like all other favors done in Hawaii.
Tourists have offered to pay me for my reservation at restaurants with long waits..HI is turning into LA lol
Should make only 4 spots at a time!! If there are more than 4, they should have extra person to book it.
That Bay belongs to the local citizens. Cease disenfranchising the people of Hawai'i from their beaches and lands.
I believe they do not want anyone actually going and this is to discourage people. I went at 6 in the morning and it was pure calamity there.

What are the other good alternative snorkeling spots?
Went today after reserving for 10:40 am $50 for us
Could not even get close the traffic was backed up. No refunds what a scam!
Just close it already!
What else tour companies are doing that
It's all about 💰...I remember in the good ole 70's sometimes only us local kids have it all 2ourselves...man those days are gone.

I got through and had 23 spots for time I wanted I experienced several times internal error messages at least 3-4 times then finally spots all full.
Typical State of Hawaii Government - its always a mess!
this is bullshit. i know a tourist who didnt hve a ticket but knows somebody so they got a spot… i heard them bragging about it and it pissed me off…

Why not open it up to Residents ONLY for a couple of days a week?

I had to try 4 times to get an reservation.
City NEEDS TO PROTECT THEIR RESIDENTS!!!!! HOWEVER U KAMAAINA JUST GO!!!! They let us
Beat it locals this is for the tourists only ;)

It's who you know!
Just stop the tourists from going, things will be fine if they rejected all the tourists. Hehe, tell em go to the Disneyland resort.
Hawaii made its own bed. Now you guys have to lie in it.
The islands can’t survive with out tourist. So….🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
@@rl2769 we can survive if tourists dont go to hanauma bay though. There are full beaches the tourists cant go to in Hawaii.
@@granta3044 I have a military ID. So I access to all of the best private beaches and I don’t have to deal with the tourist crowds.
@@rl2769 like what?
shaddap nathan
OPEN UP THE STATE COMPLETELY ALREADY!! Problem solved.
Consider hanauma bay should only be for the Hawaiians
Should have reservations marked just for locals!
Right? I find this weird. Locals should have access no matter what… this booking system should only apply to tourism
