Man that third segment with the cyborgs was actually really cool.
The horror was in the scenario whereas the segment itself leaned into action blending the two genres really well.
Plus the design of the lady and the dude once turned into robots were really cool. Like something out of silent hill. And the lady honestly seems like a really cool concept for a first person shooter character.
Wether that game would be more horror survival or movement shooter I couldn’t imagine but I like the idea of having one arm that can hold smaller weapons and maybe medkits while the other arm is a powerful multi tool.
Anyway, it’s cool to see a reboot/sequel like this that’s actually good and not just meh or terrible. Clearly someone was passionate about this weird franchise.
I really like that segment but I also feel is the less 90s like possible, to a degree even feel low cyberpunk
The same guy who made that body horror movie Ironman or whatever it's called is the one who directed that segment

@@MR3DDev yeah...99 was terrible. It makes me appreciate Viral. There's way too many...cheap looking monsters. Not scary or creepy at all. It's like...I'm very aware I'm looking at some arts and crafts project, not a terrifying monster. It's much creepier when the make up is more subtle and weird looking uncanny human. not...arts and crafts playdough monsters...

94 is a breath of fresh air and 100% better then 3. The rat guy honestly scared the shit outta me and the robo human stuff was AWESOME!!!
I think it's the best one of the series so far have yet to see 99, although the first one does hold a special place in my heart.

the third segment had literally stuck with me for so long... probably one of the best and most disturbing segments i'd seen and i'd love to see something like that as a full movie
The crazy professor deserves an oscar. He was my favourite thing of the movie.

The crazy doctor is the same guy that was the head of the cult in VHS 2, I do believe. Also anyone else notice that specific story was very similar to Heisenberg's factory from Resident Evil Village? The big guy with the blade arm was very similar to the his Soldat creations.

no, mate. they're different guy. the cult father use to play comedic role on family-friendly series but he became famous as Kang Mus (Mr. Mus) wich is one of the character he played. that guy is freaking talented, he can be anything from a security guy with 3 wives, superheroes, a maniac, he played side character in many movies. also Kang Mus is a charismatic gangster leader on a series called Preman Pensiun (Retired Scumbag).

@@chrisn7986 seems that was the director’s intent and he proved it well, but today’s game market has too much censorship to fully appreciate that I think.
Safe Haven was the best individual short of the series, but 94 was my favorite overall movie by far

i get way to scared usually watching horror movies so getting to here and get glimpses without it being to overtly scary is really nice and getting to here such amazing well written analysis of them is amazing i love your work and it really helps me enjoy the genre of horror like i want to without having to be so scared

Tbh the v/h/s series is a lot less scarier than a majority of horror movies lol. Like the cheap jumpscares with random loud ass noises take a bit getting used to but eventually they get predictable.

Explanation: All the stories are connected.
Ratman: Tells the story of the creature and his cult.
The Funeral: It is observed how the members of the cult can return to life
The Doctor: Despite his methods, this scientist knew about the threat of HSV and Ratman and whose solution would be to make human cyborgs immune to HSV and strong enough to convict Ratman's army.
The Vampire: Here they show us the power that the children of Ratman obtain and they explain why he hides in the sewers, his blood being volatile to the sun, this also affects his children after completing their transformation.
Ending: In the ending we return to the VHS cult whose mission is to corrupt people's minds.
Additional fact: The VHS creatures are from another dimension and the VHS are made by people who were corrupted by these creatures so that they corrupt others and thus weaken humanity enough for the arrival of the legion. (If you played Warcraft 3, it's the same thing Archimonde did before he came to Azeroth)
P.S. The Subject story is just so far ahead of the others. Timo stands out as the gem again!

I mean it's critically injured...it doesn't know how to repair itself, or recharge. I'm pretty sure it's implied it's not going to make it very far.

99 was a bit different than the rest of them. There’s no real ‘overarching’ story between segments. There IS a ‘story’ but it’s more like an homage to some other segments, you’ll get what I mean. It’s small references. The segments themselves are pretty damn good. The first one is just wild, and is probably the weakest of them all. So once you get past that, you’ll enjoy them a lot more IMO.

It’s weird but I actually like the blurred/censored parts. It adds some mystery and makes me want to watch the films as opposed to how I normally watch your vids (to avoid being scared lol)
Once or twice would've been fine, but it felt like half the video was blurred out. I thought there was tech issues at first

@@spasticfurchild His channel can't exist if he gets demonitized/too many strikes, so you wouldn't even be able to watch his channel if he didn't blur stuff out. Therefore the solution is to look up another channel who has the scenes uncensored or just watch the film if you want to see what he blurs out 😉

God awful show.
Great movie. It was my first time watching the series. I was expecting a copy and paste horror movie. However, it turned my expectations on their heads.
It was a nice buffet with different dishes that somehow go well together. The only story that stood out was the one with the mad scientist. I'd love to see a full-length film of it.

This was a HUGE improvement over the abysmal previous installment. I thoroughly enjoyed all the segments (minus the wraparound). Plus, it was cool seeing Monica from The Expanse melt a guy's face off. 😁 I'm actually excited for V/H/S 99 now.

this is VHS94, it was released in 2021. VHS 99 is the new movie released.

Kids born after 2009: Why is it familiar?
I would love a movie that isn't found footage where it shows how the world has turned out with all these happenings like with the Ratma Cult, the second movies Antichrist cult thing, the zombies from that first person Biker one, the siren from the first movie, the vampires from this one, the demon cloak thing, the demon from the skateboarding one, the monster dicks from the alternate reality one, and just ALL OF THEM, and then the cyborg woman goes and tries to take them all out since she still has some of her humanity left. They can even retcon it a bit so that the robot she had to kill in her episode is back and she reprogrammed him to be good so it's the two of them killing off all these things.

They did make a stand alone movie for the Siren. You can see it on shudder I think.
V/H/S was actually slowly setting up the SCP Cinematic Universe and nobody noticed

I’m not the biggest fan of horror (or rather super gory horror movies, they just don’t gel with me) but my brother had me watch the Subject segment with him. Gory bits aside, I liked it. Always down for a good mad scientist/cyborg story and The Subject did fulfill that particular niche. I really liked the design of the cyborgs and the segment where Subject 99 fought her way out of the facility was pretty fun to watch!

That Rings of Power ad had to of been a joke
In the funeral segment, the guy in the trench coat was speaking in Hungarian and he wasn't chanting shit. He was simply saying random gibberish, like 'How are you Andrew?' and 'How is the store?' and finally 'Goodbye Andrew.'. So if this was meant to be a necromancy moment, then they should've just went with the classic Latin, or have a Hungarian translator come up with more convincing. Just sayin'.

I will be honest the third segment itself gave me video game vibes almost as well as wonder if we could get a full-on movie inspired by the third segment with all the cyborgs and such or heck a video game of it would be cool too as I feel it has so much potential.
You might like Hardcore Henry. It's not inspired by VHS, but it might be in the same vein you're looking for.
