Nice tour. I love those little libraries. There are at least 6 of them within 2 miles of my house. I donate and find books I can't wait to read. Sounds like you had a fun day with a friend.

Awesome video Dawn! I shocked my husband last night on our date when I told him that I didn't want to go to Barnes and Noble. I told him I was trying to use the local library more to save us money.

@karendjohn8803 I used to not buy books unless at a thrift store. I'm trying to go back to that method again, as well as using the library.

I absolutely loved this video. We had warm weather in Michigan yesterday, your video is giving me spring fever to get outside more. I agree with the free activities. I live in metro-Detroit, and during the "auto-meltdown" when I was laid-off in 2008, I had young twin daughters. I was amazed at all the free activities: the library had daily/weekly events. I live in an area with many parks, smaller downtown areas to walk, just 15 minutes away, multiple museums had free days (Science Center, Henry Ford Museum). My last comment, your little grocery was so cozy & inviting, I particularly loved the stained glass windows with the upper one having an arch. If I were close, I would definitely shop there! Looked like an excellent day out 🌞
Michigan here too! This weeks weather sure has been a tease! When my kids were young, we used to go all kinds of free stuff too.

There are three little book trade boxes in our little town- one is at the dump! No books get tossed!😁

I went to school in Garland. Bought my first home there, had my first 2 kids there. My grandmother lived off First St. for many years and loved it. My parents lived there for 17 years before finally following me to the San Antonio area. Many great memories!

Lots of little town shops are closed on Sunday and Monday. Was watching last night HGTV and they were in Memphis. Never been there. I think hubby and I are going to go there for our 30th this June. It’s only a few hours drive away from where we live. And it looks like such a fun town. 😊

What a lovely video. Thank you Dawn. It was a good reminder to look around and see what we could find for free. Ideas I have (I live in UK): go to the park; swim in the sea (too cold now!!!); the local library is fabulous & free; I also go to a monthly Book Club which is lovely; go to museums & art galleries; do a local litter pick & keep my community tidy. I liked the way you kept identities private; it was very respectful.

Gatlinburg has a lot of these little xylophones around town. It’s fun to stop and play. 😅
Have you been to Gatlinburg/pigeon forge Dawn ? It’s a fun place. Kind of touristy. They have the country’s largest puzzle store. And some puzzles are 40,000 pieces. 😮
I used to go to TN every summer visiting friends in Johnson City. Always stopped by Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and of course Dollywood. I miss those days.

It's nice to see the community you live in! I'm not sure how often you get into Dallas, but that would also be cool to see if you went for a "free day trip" to a bigger city like that. Or maybe a day trip where you spend only $5 or $10 or something. Could be fun!

Would love to see more videos like this. Have you ever thought of asking a local newspaper if they would hire you as a weekly food critic? Maybe you could at least earn enough to pay for your meal. Who knows, maybe they will reimburse food, plus pay you for the review? That way, you get to go out. You gain a new skill. And you could probably email them your article, so you wouldn't have to travel. But you could work all that out if they are interested.

It’s very cute but that was a goose not a duck.
Loved your video! I like your see other places, that I will probably never get to visit. When our kids were young, we used to do all kinds of free stuff. It’s out there, you just have to look.
Our library recently installed huge instruments outdoors, like the one you shown on your video. Really couldn’t figure that one out since we are a cold winter state, but I think it’s pretty cool.
