#whatsmyaqs. I appreciate your perspective and your passion for seeking out new and innovative ways to build and improve our quality of life. I have done many things in my own home to improve the air quality. My wife gets headaches when she is exposed to bad air quality. I bought a hepa air filter for our room and redesigned our furnace so we can put a larger 4" thick merv 14 filter for our central heating and cooling. It has helped us to have cleaner air. We live in eastern Washington and experience heavy smoke for weeks at a time. We are fortunate to have websites like purple air which monitors outdoor air quality. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us.
Govee went one step further and has an air quality monitor that works in conjunction with a stand-alone air filter to reduce pollution. I assume the air filter already has an air quality monitor built in, so maybe it acts as a remote sensor? I have done zero research on it.
I have two of those expensive carrier air filters. These things are huge around 3 feet tall and 1.5 feet around. These things have an auto mode which checks for VOCs and increases the fan speed from low to turbo when it hits a VOC. We have one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. The fan in the bed room kicks on as soon as the cat using the facilities. I have been looking for POE Air Quality monitors for a while now that can be put in to a single gang electrical box. Trying to find anything POE is quite hard as pretty much everything I find is all server room grade and cost 100s of not thousands of dollars. POE and wireless are common these days. Yet power over Ethernet is not as popular in consumer goods. This think is quite good as it seems like you can monitor the weather as well!
Congratulations William!! You are one of the 5 winners. Can you please send me an email with your shipping address? Atmotube will send you the air quality sensor directly. carrbuildsllc@gmail.com I apologize if a spam account sent you a message last week!

Hi! I've been researching the Atmotube Pro for the past hour. Came across this vid (liked and subscribed). I'm about to buy an one to do a map of VOC and Particulate sources in Austin, Tx. I have a MA in Urban Planning and work in GIS but it would be more a portfolio or vanity spatial analysis project than a business. Have you had success with the Atmotube PRO? Any advice?
Meanwhile in Las Vegas Nevada, it's been an exceptionally mild summer, with a significantly higher rain fall. Leading to a rise in lake Meads water level. Though the last bit was also due to a heavier snowfall last winter.

Cool device, I have read it uses Bluetooth and has an option to map the air quality around you so I would love to take it on my bicycle and create a map! The interface is open, and I've already seen integration with Home Assistant in the works for automation. For instance, opening a window or starting a ventilator. I would indeed like to see how well it does to keeping the air in the house. I have them set for auto and when something smells it indeed does kick on high speed till it clears it. I am not sure what the Merv rating is on these filters yet I would have to guess its on the upper end of 15 or higher. Merv has a highest rating of 20. I am working on the Hvac design for my new house. The plan is to have 3 main systems to which the return ducts all have a merv 10 filter and then when it arrives back to the Hvac system it will have higher grade merv/hospital grade filters. This will require a much larger fan system than would be in a normal hvac system. I will have 4 vents and 4 returns on each main system that comes back to one manifold then drops down to the higher grade filter. By having the dual stage filter it will extend the life of the higher medical grade filter. These things are expensive and every bit you can do to prevent them from getting dirty is far better. The only thing I have not found yet is a system the includes the sensor to speed up the fan. I also want one of those varibale speed systems. Which I have been looking at heat pumps as that is pretty much how they function on all the time at much reduced power and filtering the air non stop. With the sensor it can pick up bad smells and filter them fast. Not every Hvac company understand nor do they want to install good stuff. I am even considering putting in 3 zones so that each area can be maintained at a better rate. I also want to have 2 of the 4 return filters in zone 2 which is the kitchen to have higher grade filters. This is where those sensors and thermostats would come in to play!
This looks cool! I have wanted to get an air quality monitor for a while but have not been sure what would be appropriate for my apartment. I live in a small city and walk often. The portability means I could check the air in the surrounding area as well. #whatsmyaqs
I used to work at a company that made equipment that measured Automotive exhaust gasses. We built large industrial looking sensors. Interesting in see how small the technology has become. #whatsmyaqs
I wonder what my indoor air quality is like with 6 cats and 5 kittens. Also, I spent two hours on my riding mower this afternoon and I usually end up with a runny nose afterwards. Bet the #whatsmyaqs would be off the charts.
#whatsmyaqs Great information. I never really thought about air quality in my house until the Canada Wild Fires smoke a couple of months ago. Now I'm thinking about my range hood that is not vented to outside. In addition I do DIY stuff in my basement workshop which includes cutting wood, painting, glues, staining, polyurethane coating, etc. With poor ventilation in my basement I should know how the air quality is. This device will help me to know what precautions I need to take.
#whatsmyaqs It would be brilliant to have this device to measure particulate matter. We have opposite us two properties with log burners. Every winter the air here stinks of wood smoke. I have a particulate monitor that often reads "severely polluted" as the pm2.5 readings exceed 300 microgrammes / cubic metre. To get these readings I have to stand at the front of our house subjected to the high levels of pollution. The Atmos unit you're promoting takes regular readings and stores them. It would be ideal for me to prove to our Council the time and severity of the pollution.
Doing a give-away through the comments section like this is just putting out a welcome sign to every RUclips scammer out there. But I do enjoy your content. #WHATSMYAQS
#whatsmyaqs Have you done any research on the sensor and accuracy of the monitor? There have been some concerns with some brands using cheap sensors that eventually die or the accuracy decreases with time.
A decent CO2 monitor isn't cheap. It would probably push the price on these up to ~$200. I wonder if they would keep this model and create a new one for people who don't already have a good CO2 sensor. As it is it looks great.
My Dyson air purifying fan logs indoor air quality but is lacking the the PM 1, 2.5, vs 10 breakdown. I also like how portable this device is,.as I wonder about air quality at work. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs the lack of CO2 sensor is a bummer but then adding a SCD-40 or some such will add quite a bit more cost to the whole package. And I think as long as you know VOCs you may not really care totally need the CO2 sensor.
#whatsmyaqs not only it's hot here, every day the air quality 150 and above because of haze of crop burning. During the pandemic 20-22 there was very little haze but this year is even hotter and hazier
It would be great to monitor at at least a slight distance! I'm fairly certain the basic CO2 monitor I have is affected by my proximity when I read it and it doesn't check PM 2.5 for me. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs. Great info. The windows in my apartment are sealed and I often wonder how that affects my indoor air quality. I don’t know that the vents and air intake are as well thought out as they could be. I think it would be nice to be able to open the windows occasionally because of particularly smelly cooking of cleaning session. But I have no clue if the outside air is worse.
This summer is the first time the smoke from fires smelled like plastic so much that in my Northeastern Ohio neighborhood that some people were thinking that their house was having an electrical fire.
I have a Ecobee premium that measures CO2 and VOC's. This is a awesome device that also would measure particulates. The outdoor PM 2.5 is something I track as a higher number PM 2.5 seems to trigger my son's asthma reactions. May be worth looking at inside too. #whatsmyaqs
I'm also curious as to just how bad cooking with my unvented hood is. I also do some 3-D printing, albeit with a grow tent to ventilate it, but I'm interested if it gets worse. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs Both of my sons and I develop asthma symptoms when in the Cincinnati area from the pollution. The Canadian wildfires this year made me close the house and run the AC all summer, not just on the hot days. Even with that and a HEPA filter, we still suffered. It would be awesome to see how effective the measures I've taken have been

#whatsmyaqs Our air quality in Yellowknife has been terrible due to nearby wildfires! I need one of these to monitor indoor air quality for myself and my expecting wife! It's back up to 239 (10+) again today! Our PM 2.5 in the air is currently 38X higher than it should be and we've had many days like this, this summer. Just returned from a month long evacuation of the whole city due to wildfires.
#whatsmyaqs This seems to be a more comprehensive air quality monitor than other currently on the market. I wish it had better battery life and would integrate with other smart home eco systems like Alexa or Smarthings.
#whatsmyAQS Thanks for the information. 4 years ago I moved from the coast to the desert and I have often wondered about the air quality. My mother moved out here also but returned to the coast after a year because she found the air too dry and dusty as it dried out her skin and irritated her eyes. I have always been curious about the differences in air quality between the urban centers and the periphery. Thanks for posting.
Two or three years ago wildfire smoke was really bad in Colorado. There were a couple days where ash fell from the sky like snow. It was simultaneously really hot. My only means of cooling is an evaporative cooler. That all meant that my choices were either to overheat or to breathe in the smoke. I put a bed sheet around the evaporative cooler to provide some level of filtering, then spent all day with an N95 mask. At night I closed up the house and set up an air filter in one room so I could sleep without a mask. I plan on installing a mini-split in the bedrooms soon, so at least I have some options for heating and cooling that can run with windows closed, and as a secondary system in case the furnace or evaporative cooler break. #whatsmyaqs

#whatsmyaqs The canadian wildfires were crazy to see in Rochester NY. We were close enough at times that we knew the air was going to be bad before the news, and it got bad, think blade runner LA bad. Luckily it's flat out here so it didn't linger too long. I can't imagine what it felt like in NYC, and New Haven C; being at the end of the river valleys where the heavier stuff concentrates

#whatsmyaqs Thank you for offering information on building products. I am in the process of renovating a flat using manual tools as much as possible (less dust, less noise and more exercise...) and using healthier materials like lime plaster, shellac and tung oil. I was just thinking about measuring air quality (during and after renovations) and I am planning on integrating a (possibly DIY) air exchanger.

Did they ever explain why the fires smelled that way? Was it because they were living trees?
I have a Ecobee premium that measures CO2 and VOC's. This is a awesome device that also would measure particulates. The outdoor PM 2.5 is something I track as a higher number PM 2.5 seems to trigger my son's asthma reactions. May be worth looking at inside too. #whatsmyaqs
I'm also curious as to just how bad cooking with my unvented hood is. I also do some 3-D printing, albeit with a grow tent to ventilate it, but I'm interested if it gets worse. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs
Both of my sons and I develop asthma symptoms when in the Cincinnati area from the pollution. The Canadian wildfires this year made me close the house and run the AC all summer, not just on the hot days. Even with that and a HEPA filter, we still suffered. It would be awesome to see how effective the measures I've taken have been
Congratulations Kevin!! You are one of the 5 winners. Can you please send me an email with your shipping address? Atmotube will send you the air quality sensor directly.

I apologize if a spam account sent you a message last week!
@@BelindaCarr awesome, thank you!
No need to apologize for spam, it is a very minor inconvenience as long as you're vigilant.

Our air quality in Yellowknife has been terrible due to nearby wildfires!
#WHATSMYAQS I’m shocked! Belinda Carr doesn’t have a vented hood over her range! Now you know the truth of your air quality.
#whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs But this thing does measure Carbon Monoxide, right?
#whatsmyaqs I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned from your content. Please keep it coming!
#whatsmyaqs
I live in Dallas too. When I check my weather app it also gives you details on air quality safety. It’s disturbing how many days I check and see AQ warnings
@Text_14051 fake account. You have been reported
Thanks again. I love these videos.
#whatsmyaqs Thank you for the informative videos. I always look forward to your next topic.
#whatsmyaqs ...you're really amazing Belinda!
#whatsmyaqs My husband and I have both been struggling with congestion and respiratory issues this summer! I've wondered if it's something in our rental since medication doesn't seem to solve it long term.
#whatsmyaqs
Always appreciate your content, Belinda.
#whatsmyaqs Love the content. I'm new to the construction industry and your videos help me understand the purpose n reasonability of so many products.
Living in California and having just been diagnosed with lung cancer I think I need one of these! #whatsmyaqs
I'm a little surprised that you didn't take the opportunity to educate your audience about gauge accuracy and precision. Comparing to AirThings View Plus would be interesting. #whatsmyaqs

I did not know portable AQS monitors even existed - I would put one to great use! Thanks, Belinda.

As somebody who does a lot of do it yourself projects and strives to create a healthy, living environment within our 60 year old house I would definitely love to get my hands on one of these. We have a flair thermal camera that goes on our iPhone and it is super awesome to explore our environment with. #whatsmyAQS
#whatsmyaqs Going to have construction start over the garage shortly, and this unit would be great to ensure the good air quality inside the house.
#whatsmyaqs I like your enthusiastic reviews of new building products and systems and, as always, looking forward to your next video.
#whatsmyaqs Hi Belinda, have you tried it in a car? I know the air quality can be bad on the freeway. and I have read that small particles can get into a closed car. I would like to see more testing of this.
IMMEDIATE ATTENTION! Hello Belinda. Someone just contacted me saying I just won the contest. This could be a potential scam. They provided a number to text. I texted back and the response makes me believe this was not you.
I got the same message. Her description says in a week she'll pick winners.
There is an imposter replying to virtually all comments trying to get them to contact them instead. Overseas scammers have been using this impersonation tactic for years now and most RUclips users are already familiar with the practice. Everyone should see the obvious impersonation if they go to the source channel and see it's completely empty. Report it to RUclips.
OMG! I can still reat the enclosed pdf....
#whatsmyaqs Thank you for reviewing this product and all the other wonderful videos you've made. We are building a multigenerational homestead on 11 acres in NC and so many of your videos have been extremely helpful.
#whatsmyaqs
The past few days have had bad indoor air quality since the wind patterns moved Canadian wildfire smoke to the central US. Ran my HEPA filter on high.
#whatsmyaqs
Thanks for all of the great content!
#whatsmyaqs
Interesting stuff. Co2 detection definitely needed though.
#WHATSMYAQS
Thank you for bringing attention to these important topics!
2024 July Dr's don't know why I can't breathe. I've been cleaning daily not knowing if it's in the house. Inhalers and antihistamines do nothing! I'm desperate! 😢 TY
#whatsmyaqs Thank you for another amazing video. I sometimes wonder about the quality of air in my home which is over 60 years old. This tool would be perfect for me.
Air quality monitoring is vital for keeping our air clean. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs
Truly had no idea something like this was available for the average person. Thanks for sharing! Very informative ☑️

I'm not sure you'd want a Canadian winner, but here is my entry. Continuing thanks for your videos. Kendall
I need to get a new floor for my kitchen. Your video on VOCs is going to come in handy when making choices.

The canadian wildfires were crazy to see in Rochester NY.
I'd be interested to know what it would show if you put it next to cooking that is vented and compare the results with yours. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs I have always been interested to see my air quality in my house. It is usually pretty good outside, but the Canadian wildfires even reached where I live a number of days and it was very apparent when you went outside.
#whatsmyaqs
You're the only serious channel I follow. Thanks for that.
I'm always grateful for learning from you. #whatsmyaqs Thanks!
You are my favourite building science and tech channel! Mixed with some diy! #WHATSMYAQS

I've always lived in areas that had bad air quality. I now live in humboldt but in an old single wide trailer that I'm sure has mold and other problems. I would love to get one of these and add it to my humidity meter. Thanks for your channel and all you do. 🤙👍
Thank you for the review. I have a garage shop with a laser and CNC, I wonder how useful this would be in there. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs So needed now that wildfire smoke is becoming a norm
Very cool. I have some airthings sensors but they don't do particulate matter. #whatsmyaqs
#whatsmyaqs I’m curious to see if my portable air filter is as efficient as it purports to be and what pollutants are left behind.
#whatsmyaqs
I have some troubles with pollens and allergies, and also some concerns about mold in my house. I was thinking about getting an air filter, but this may be the first step I should make.
