  • Pastor Allen Nolan discusses how Mary Magdalene was the first person who saw Jesus after He rose from the dead. In the Jewish culture, women could not serve as witnesses, but God places just as much value on women as men. The fact that the disciples reported that women were the first witnesses proves that the story of Jesus’ resurrection was not fabricated. Where in the Bible does it say that God liberated women, we have looked for this saying and new law from God, but we just can’t find it anywhere in the Bible.
The Bible does not say that Jesus appeared to only women first after His resurrection, it says that He appeared to a group at the tomb. The women were sent by men 9their husbands) to finish the burial rites, because they ran out of time the day before, but men had to go along to roll the stone away, or the women would not be able to help with the burial rites. When Jesus talked to the woman at the well, he did not tell her that she was liberated, even though her husband sent her to the well to get water for the family. When Jesus forgave the whore for her evil sin, the Bible does not say that Jesus made her equal to any man. The assumption seems to be that Jesus made men and women equal once he was resurrected, where as Jesus did not tell any woman that she did not have to do what their husbands told them to do. The Bible does say that the man is the head of the woman and head of the house/home… There can not be two captains on any ship, train, plane, horse or car. The helper electrician does not circumvent the master electrician and just do anything his own way regardless of what needs to be properly done. In the 6000 years of Jewish history, it has never been written down that God liberated women and now they are equal to men. Yes, in the spirit realm all are equal before God as far as sins go, but that is talking about the spiritman, not the human body or the mind. QED

God’s Holy Book says that men and women are different and that women are the weaker vessel in many ways. God put the man in his place as head of the home and house and the family for very good reasons. The fact that testosterone wires the brain (as children grow) in one way and estrogen wires the brain in another way. A woman’s mental clarity and judgment is weighted according to their emotions first. Women memorize everything that is said and happens around them, but their memories are selective, based on their own perceptions of reality. And men weigh their judgment according to the logical side of their brain and men remember facts first and emotions lastly in most situations.. So men and women will automatically remember different things about the same occurrence and that is one reason that so many fights and arguments break out in the family and home. The man and woman witness and see the same situation from different angles and different perceptions of reality.

Sure. Let's therefore make women our slaves because that's what the Bible teaches. They aren't good for anything except for doing housework and giving birth. They shouldn't be witnesses because their judgement is clouded by emotion.

The Jewish culture is God's created culture, for His people. The Jewish culture was not set up by men, but by God's direction, via the Jewish Covenant with Jesus (= Old Testament). We can not pick and choose which parts of the Words are written by the Father GOD, Jesus the Son of God or by the Holy Spirit and which parts are written by MEN. And though all peoples are of the human race, men and women are different as apples and oranges... God commanded that women shall not be allowed to go into the Holy temple proper. Women are unclean 50% of each month and no amount of water can purify them, because of the receptive shape of their bodies and the curse that God had put on women... Jesus never said that one of the things that He came to do was to free women from their place in society. You can not find that in the Holy Scriptures. The other scripture that a few people sight is the one where God says that (in the Spirit) all are equal, men, women Jews and gentiles before God. And just because that the women were sent by men to the garden tomb to finish the wrapping of Jesus body, does not mean that the women sent special and selected by Jesus to be moved up the social ladder. Who was going to interface with the guards and roll away the stone, certainly not the two women, so they did not go alone. The only other scripture that a few people like to reference is the women going top be stoned for adultery. Jesus did not come to change Jewish culture or Jewish law. You can not find that in the Holy Scriptures.
God set up Jewish law and their customs. Jesus made only one slight correction to the Jewish law and that was about divorce. QED

I am surprised people who misinterpret the Bible like you exist. I am not even sure you've fully read or understood anything about it. Apart from that, you've gotten the facts wrong. According to John 19:25 it was definitely more than 2 women who went up to the tomb. What makes you assume that it was a group of men and women who went to the tomb? If John mentioned the names of "women" in a society where women's testimony was unreliable, would he not have also mentioned the names of the men who went along with them, prioritising them over the women?
The Jews were God's chosen people yes. But that does not mean that they were a flawless people who had flawless institutions. For 'all' have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23). Please stop with your legalism and read the Bible with an open heart and let the love of Christ work in your life.
