If there weren't 12 men on defense, why would you be proud of this clip??? Lmao.. I'm confused
😝
And we still have an ass hole Vikings fan scrapping on this one.... lol. Face it dude, it was a bad call
Unbelievable technology we have today instant photo printing with color LMAO
@@Skazellino well im blind as a bat so I don't even see black and white!
This was back in '95, dumbass!
@@effend446 that's the point he's making lol
1990s good times
I was abt to comment that and it’s the first comment that comes up 😂😂😂
Damn I’d forgotten Jimmy, Terry and Howie have been together for 25 years. Explains a lot of their reaction to the announcement of his induction.
Almost 25, Jimmy coached the Dolphins for 4 seasons.
So glad that Jimmy Johnson is being inducted. It is a shame that Jerry Jones was inducted before Jimmy was. Shame.
Classic Bill Cowher! He deserved to go off on those officials. That was a blown call. The Steelers had 11 men on the field at the time. The ref lost a game check cause of this error.
I'd love to see Bill cowher as a Chicago Bears head coach
@@CristianGomez-x1g Anudder Ditka......Da Chin!
This is how it should be. A truly egregious BASIC CALL being botched should cost a senior ref their pay. In any sport.
Hate the Steelers as a ravens fan. Love Bill Cower. Him and Billick were such a good rivalry
0:35 COWHER'S COWHEADS
Three rivers had a lot more character than Heinz for sure. I remember the cars parked in the outfield.
@@woodyhayes7402 I used to think they were prizes like the cars they gave away on The Price Is Right
25 years later these guys are still on tv.... time for a regime change
Peak FOX NFL Sunday…James Brown steering with Terry, Howie and Jimmy. Too many talking heads now and Curt Menafee is just a guy.
If you cannot count up to 11, your have no business being an official in football!
Or having any other job, really. But in today's world math is now considered racist (seriously) and severe job incompetence goes unpunished.
Cowher Power.
Vikings 44
Steelers 24
That says nothing to the wrongness of this call. An honest Vikings fan would admit an obscenely bad ref call, just like an honest Steelers fan would admit the same.
It's great to have the original sound and not some dude talking for 13 minutes trying to explain it.
*coughJaguarGator9cough*
So true😂😂 those kinda videos are entertaining but overbearing at times, especially when there’s a 1 min sponsor introduction for some nordVPN type shit 😂😂
@@TimmyTickleironically he did a video on this that was only about 5 minutes long
03:16 26 years later, it's still these four guys (Plus a few more) on the half time broadcast. Amazing.
Thanks for making me feel old lol
Hold the refs accountable for their bad calls and fine them.
Two refs were fined for this incident.
2:24
Ref- There were twelve men.
Bill Cowher- THERE’S ELEVEN!!!!!!!!!!
I think that was the special teams coach (Bobby April?) because you can hear him say it to Cowher before he hands him the photo. Sounds like the same voice, only much louder obviously.
@@kyuss2922Yeah no wonder I was like I don’t ever remember hearing Bill Cowher with such a high pitched voice.
In honor of his hof induction
The man got fined big for being correct! Instant classic Cowher moment and was amazing to watch live! SNU!
But in all seriousness that call was ridiculous even as Viking fan
Hush now friend this is one of the few calls that went our way
That was hilarious when Bill Cowher shoved the photo into the referees pocket. I was laughing my ass off!
He should have been ejected when he touched the ref.
I remember this like it was yesterday and how fired up I was in my living room, screaming at the TV along with Cowher. Great memory. Thanks for putting the clip up.
Good energy and passion by Cowher.
I like to see my team catch a break and have a call go their way, but that one was ridiculous.
@@pete9369 - I think this was one of the major things leading up to instant replay challenges.
Gordon McCarter’s granddaughter here. Can confirm that Cowher called him the next day to apologize because my grandpa didn’t throw the flag, his line judge did. He was an extremely fair official and kept his cool no matter what, proven here.
I always thought he was one of the best officials there was. His hands were tied and there was nothing he could do. I’m glad Cowher apologized to him.
He was a great ref…until you needed more than two hands to count.
Cower is barking up the wrong tree-the official under the goal post tossed the hanky. I was a referee for high school, youth, NAIA Collegiate and Arena-the umpire and I count the offense, my deep officials count the defense, it’s that simple. Your grandfather was a GREAT referee and should’ve had at least one Super Bowl on his resume. Very few seasons was he not assigned a postseason assignment. So sorry you lost him 20 years ago-71 is 10-15 years too young. Hopefully you have many fond memories of him.
Your gpa was a legit ref. It was definitely his generation of officiating. After him soon came Ed Hochuli who shared similarities. And now, we have Ed's son, Shawn.
Was a legit ref but completely wrong here
Hate the Steelers, but Cowher was always the epitome of what a coach should be imo.
Did anyone notice Bill Cowher screaming, "THERE WAS 11 MEN!!!" at 2:25?
I don’t think that was Cowher yelling that. He was too far away.
Nope. Just you.
Love bill. If he were a baseball manager he would have been ejected from every other game
That’s facts
Bill was telling a ref “that’s the same guys we have out there”, after the penalty was announced. He knew if nobody came off, it could not have been 12 men on the field.
I love how the announcer literally counts 11 men and STILL acts like the call was correct and gee golly gosh, I just can't tell even though I LITERALLY JUST COUNTED 11 MEN.
Giants Dolphins 2023 brought me here
God I love cowher. I aspire to be him one day
Slow start, eh?
Not even a Steelers fan, but that is an absolutely inexcusable call right there. If players and coaches get fined for arguing with officials, then refs should be fined every time they make a bad call. That ref is lucky he didn’t get fired.
Even with all the technology refs still doing same shit today
On purpose. There's no way anybody screws up that badly over and over by accident.
He needs to have 12 player on stage with him and say "fine me now!!!!
Coach Cowher shoved the picture in the refs pocket 😅😅 He paid a hefty fine but ha ha he's in the Football Hall of Fame 😅
I miss these old school coaches and players, football is pretty much beat now. Lol it sucks
Just because of this he deserves to be in the HOF 😆👏
The best part is when his first try to stuff it in the pocket fails, and he just casually tries again.
Probably a rigged game.
How is it possible it’s coming up on 30 years and these guys are still on air!
The year is 2024, and the refs are still corrupt as shit.
And if it went the other way,
The score would have been 41-24 instead of 44-24 in favor of the Vikings.
Do you have a crystal ball with proof of that? No, I didn't think so. One single event can drastically alter results in the future, not just with football, but with anything in life. You have no idea what the score would have been if that call hadn't been blown.
@Fire&Ice909 - What made me come to the conclusion that none of us is a psychic? Common sense.
@Christopher Pool - Of course it can. It's called the Butterfly Effect.
@Christopher Pool - Sorry, I would if I did smoke, but I don't (cigarettes, weed or anything.) I think we all know you're just a butt hurt Vikings fan.
@Christopher Pool - Lol, you just admitted your bias. At least I would be honest and admit it if my team won a game on a blown call. I'd be embarrassed if I were you.
IT WAS 11!!!!!! 😂😂
THIS IS THE MOMENT I KNEW BILL COWHER WOULD BE A GREAT COACH
They all look so young...and thinner.
God i love Cowher!
Everybody gangsta till they see bill cowher raise that upper lip lol.. dudes nfl gold
2021 ManningCast Week 17
Those Refs suck
Bears-Vikings sent me here
It wasn't as bad as the call made in the Tuck Rule game in the 2001 playoffs.
Arguably.
Beauty
Funkey I'ma a big fan of your work. I was wondering if you had the 1999 opening day game against the Falcons? Been wanting to see that one for awhile now.
I love my Steelers and big fan of Bill Cowher!! That field goal did not make the difference in the game cause they got beaten pretty good by the Vikings and their running back run for a touchdown with one shoe!!
2:50 “unbelievable the technology we have today”
The nfl literally playing a Toy Story football game in 2023 with censors in each of the players pads.
Great shot of Kevin Greene
When the Pittsburgh Steelers had a coach. A real coach. Not a cheerleader with non-sensical phrases pretending to be a coach.
That was beautiful! HOFer on that alone!
Lol- a debate about instant replay and the time it takes in 1995, and it took all the way up until a couple years ago to get the timing right, though still pretty controversial as a topic overall
This dude is a legend!!
Mn fan but I always liked Bill and he was right of course, but they lost by 3 or 4 scores anyway.
That Ref was rigged! Definitely on the Vikings payroll 😠
Earl Hebner says: "He stuffed a photo in your pocket? And?!"
Kevin Greene and Greg Lloyd. Two of the biggest steroid monsters ever to play the game!
And low and behold instant replay did come back in 1999 and it’s not going away any time soon
Lifelong Viking fan here. Can't blame him for being pissed. It was a bad call. I know I get pissed off when there's a bad call against the Vikings (there have been many), but it diminishes the win when there is a blown call against your opponent. Sometimes the refs just phone it in and don't really try. This is one of those times.
Bill Cowher is a football icon and a National Treasure
We need to bring Replay back to the NFL.
What they didn’t show him was that the ref body slammed cowher in the Lockerroom
Vikings won that game 44-24 so it did not make a difference
This was an obvious bad call, but cowher should have been ejected, or at least penalized.
I disagree even as a Vikings fan im not so certain Mike Zimmer wouldn't flip his shit if there was a call like that today!
Loren Heaton lmao no
Are you kidding me? For simply putting something in the guy's pocket? I admire Cowher for what he did. Did not physically hurt or harm the ref in any way, shape or form and stood up for his team. jbsmg, you may want to get a back bone.
Almost as bad as the Seahawks blocked fg blown call on MNF last year.
How do you go from this to Tomlin! Crazy
It would have been great if the bonus FGA had been either blocked and returned for a TD or had been a fake and resulted in a Minnesota TD.
True sportsmanship would have been not kicking but rather having the quarterback take a knee.
The NFL would have hated that move.
Or a fake that resulted in a Pittsburgh TD.
Or a failed fake with another penalty called on the defense and another untimed down.
Lol Bill was a madman
Wow, has Jimmy Johnson been doing the NFL on Fox for that long?
Melvin Shine he had a 4 year break with the Dolphins 96-99 then returned to Fox
Wonder if he uses the same hairdo glue?
BILL BELLICHEAT would have weakly said, now it's onto the second half...
Announcer counts 11 men, but is so determined not to make the officials look bad that he pretends not to knowhow many after he LITERALLY JUST COUNTED THEM.
happy hall of fame!!
THERE’S 11!!! 😂😂😂
Kevin Greene was the man
I was there that day, fans got hostile after that blown call. Was a good ride home back to Milwaukee 👍👍
Sure but it wouldn't have been so good had you been in Philly... Because I am pretty sure you would have gotten your ass kicked and not have been so smug as you are now... In fact the last time Vikings went to Philly the fans had PTSD of how they got treated after they dressed the Rocky Statue in Vikings colors...
steelers got killed in this game ... "it was a débâcle " who cares u got stomped
You look like you sleep with little kids
why, in baseball, managers get tossed for much much less....but in football, apparently you can forcefully touch refs with impunity. not that i care, football is better with Cowhers on the field. just saying. maybe baseball umps are thin skinned.
Interesting to hear the FOX people lobbying for instant replay to return. Would take 4 more years until it finally returned.
Eff that ref
It's 2021 I'm still pissed about this loss I'm mean straight got screwed in this game
Same guys still on the air???
That formaldehyde stuff really works!
I hope that ref retired after that season because he looks like he was 80 and had cateracs. He probably couldn't see how many people were on the line......lol. Seriously if that happened today, it would of gotten a look from the replay officials in the booth.
Cowher was right but he should have been ejected for that. Can you imagine a baseball manager or basketball coach touching a ref (or ump) and not getting tossed?
was he fined for touching an official? i remember that game, and i remember cowher doing that, but cant remember if he was fined.
2:25
Cowher is a badass
The refs have been fucking it up since the start of the league. It's been tradition.
This is the difference between real coaches and pretenders like Mike Tomlin
Wait! There was a time in the NFL that there was no replay?
IIRC instant replay's first year was 1986, then they got rid of it in 1990 or '91, then brought it back in '98.
pronkb000 that’s insane
:43 What's Nicolas Cage doing coaching?
Bill cowherds started the original play reviews lol
Bradshaw looks old in this to
But Jim Brown and Bradshaw look especially young. Lol
Bradshaw kind of looked old when he was still an active player. He may have even looked old when he was playing college ball at La. Tech.
It’s not a penalty that’s reviewable is it?
12? Pretty hard counts I’m fan vikings
This is one of many reasons for why I'm against instant replay. You don't get hillarious moments such as this. You get robbed of the human aspect of sports. We've gone too robotic as a society.
The refs obviously didn't get Spinal Tap......the Amp goes to 11.......not 10, and not 12. It's 11 @$$ hole!
Cowher just RULES!
Fantasy move, next time the teams line up, the Steelers ignore the ball, spread out and open field forearm shiver layout every ref on the field, and sideline. Then they stand over them like Jack Lambert tossing Cliff Harris in the Super Bowl .
Now that's NFL Reffing getting fixed.....instead of the fix we get in every NFL game we get now.
The NFL Brand SUCKS!
I don't blame him, terrible call
Gish these 4 been on set as long as I’ve been alive
Now technology is way different
Can you do all Vikings celebrations or this year
