Yea they pick and choose tbh. They don’t bring the same energy to all cuts. One minute the cuts is like 30-45 minutes long the next second he done in 2.5. No consistency when they cut even if they know you.
Thanks for the learning. I'm a middle aged youth worker in a very white area of England. There's no experienced Black barbers to talk to. Not at this level. There's Turkish barbers but it's not the same. This really helps me understand, in depth, the afro hair styles that young people I work for, love. It gives me more education to talk about hair and style. So I'm stoked. "Cleanliness IS next to Godliness", what my Nanna always said too. Now I agree the head paint thing to me is crazy but I also have a full set of hair. That's what his client wanted. He just so happen to have the tools to do so. I only cut my own hair, but I can't stop watching this man's videos. There's something so satisfying watching him work his magic, the music, and his commentary.. "super clean..." oh man it's a vibe.
I cut my own hair too. People give me positive opinions sometimes. Anyway I find blending my hair so difficult especially around the back. My arms gets so tired . I was getting better with practice but stopped blending. I leave my lines bold but I still think it looks alright . Definitely looksclean and neat but I liked when it’s blended better.
