CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Klump (Eddie Murphy) and Love (Eddie Murphy) have an all-out battle on stage in front of a large audience.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Eddie Murphy gives one of Jerry Lewis' best-remembered vehicles a 1990s overhaul in this hit comedy. Sherman Klump (Murphy) is a college professor and respected biochemistry researcher who is kind, considerate, and a genuinely nice guy. Sherman is also appallingly overweight; coupled with the fact that he's painfully shy and a bit clumsy, his romantic prospects are rather bleak. When Sherman finds himself working with a pretty graduate student, Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett), he falls in love and is eager to impress her, but at an upscale nightclub, his weight attracts the attention of an insult comic (Dave Chappelle) and his bumbling spoils the evening. Sherman's latest project is a genetic weight loss formula, and despondent over his failure to win Carla's heart, he subjects himself to a massive dose. Suddenly, Sherman is transformed into the slim, trim, and handsome Buddy Love; however, the drug also boosts his testosterone level, turning the likable Sherman into the arrogant, skirt-chasing Buddy. In addition to playing Sherman and Buddy, Eddie Murphy also plays four other members of the porcine Klump family, as well as eccentric exercise guru Lance Perkins.

*1:48** - "NO MATTERWHAT... Ya got to strut!"*
The fact that Buddy accepted his loss against Sherman was a good thing. It didn't matter that he was skinny and confident, but Sherman's kindness was something that Buddy would never have.
In this movie Eddie Murphy is playing a lot of characters what a legend. And it's not the only movie that he does this.
True Coming to America Goldfinger Norbit Uncle Dave genuis nobody would top that not even Robin williams Mrs doubtfire period
Eddie Murphy can play a hero and a villain in same movie. What a legend ❤❤❤❤❤
"Somebody better call the exorcist!"
Love that line
Haha ya and when he says "This is some scary shit!" Cracks me up too.
lol me too and this is some scary shit another one of my favorite lines.

Pavlo Siergiev how is that racist lol?
The CGI and effects are outstanding! Especially for the 90s.
For a 90s movie, the visual effect is amazing
@El Enfermo Sexual Reborn thank you 😊
Enzovexx u most be joking
Of course! It’s the 90s!! Lol 😂
the only bad cgi is the fart nuke
One of the Best Eddie Murphy movies EVER.
Agreed.
He didn'thad that much good work.
The only one I could think off directly would be Shrek
Do Dodakowski What do you mean? Eddie Murphy is a legend!
@@jxhunt3010 With the right director he can be hilarious, but most of his movies are...not high quality...bad
Do Dodakowski Are you saying his acting is bad or the actual movie itself?
"Sherman, I taught you how to be confident."
😂😂😂😂
That is so true!
Also no one didn’t bully him no more. Yet he didn’t actually get the girl of his dreams for he had married another one on the sequel

When he said "no matter what, you got to strut" was the realest line
This movie has deeper meaning than people think. It's about expecting your imprecations and being happy with the person you are
Right, but the sequel sucked balls
That is true, but we are not meant to be fat, I don't care what people say, being fat is not normal .

@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq “I’m not that kinda guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuy!” 😉
Buddy wasn't all bad. Sherman was a doormat until Buddy came along and made Sherman realize that he needed confidence to match his genius.
Matt Williams I wish we could have a Nutty Professor 3 & 4.
Ellen Philpotts-Page totally
You gotta wonder what would happen if a thing like this happened to Retsuko.
You got to strut!!!!!!!!!
Buddy used people similar how a sociopath will use a person then discard them.
I saw this movie for the first time when I was nine years old. When I found out Eddie Murphy played 7-8 rules in this one movie I was absolutely amazed. He's had my respect ever since!
Koamooqmo9qmoqk99qmo9qkooqkkiqmkoqm
"No matter what, you got to strut!"
Probably one of my all time favorite movie lines.
What did he mean by "strut"
Omar Ockleberry he meant “be proud of yourself.”
GOATED Statment
As out of control as Buddy was, he taught Sherman to fight for himself and to be proud of who he is. Sometimes the parts of us we think make us horrible are the parts of us that make us great. At least that’s what I took from this exchange.
“No matter what…no matter what,…you got to STRUT.”
-Buddy Love, 1996
the way he said that was hilarious😂
Eddie Murphy's own version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
you're right, because the "buddy" side of Sherman represents every angry feeling and evil idea that has been repressed over the years, just as Mr. Hyde was a representation of every evil action that Dr. Jekyll repressed, hence the dual nature between good and evil
It's actually more of Jerry Lewis's version, but you're right.
The Blue Adventurer
Which itself was a parody of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, so there's still a slight connection.
John Uchiha Eddie Murphy has been my favorite actor and buddy is me.
I think that was the point.
he meant to say," no matter what, you always got to hold your head up and be proud of yourself, no matter the size." buddy was giving Sherman some last movement advice. thats scene always chocked me up. strut means to walk with pride.
Reshme I always liked that part too.
It's kinda morbid cuz that's buddy's death. Crazy
Thanks for clarifying that. I always thought that was one of the dumbest closing lines, but now it makes a little more sense
Always been my favorite quote from the movie 😁
That got me, cause I can seriously talk down on myself sometimes
"Somebody should call the exorcist!"
You made my day...😂😂😂😂😂
1:07 It’s Somebody Better Call An Exorcist
Not Should
"Sherman, get back here!"
Tries to get him back by calling him like a dog, lmao

It made me laugh so hard thought no one else noticed 😂😂😂
Me too I was laughing so hard 🤣
I just notice it form your comment thank you🎉😂

Just imagine being Eddie Murphy and acting this out. No CGI, no music, just talking to yourself, slapping yourself, and acting out...this.

1:15 This Is Some Scary Stuff!’’
0:03 I like the reactions of Sherman's parents. Mama Klump does a shock & awe pose while Cletus Klump does a fighting pose, thinking some ghost gonna pop out of nowhere. 😂
1:33 "Everything getting real dark! I feel real jiggly! I'm blubberfying!" Lol
as scary as that is, that's what literally was happening to him
It was the end of buddy.
In the end "Buddy Love" actually knew he lost so his final parting gift was "No matter what, no matter what. You've got to strut" basically telling him. If Sherman stays the same he has to remain confident.
Momma Klump passing out kill me every time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
0:35 - 1:55
This scene makes me cry because I view it on a spiritual level. Such as someone suffering from bipolar disorder and they’re trying all they can to keep it together. Sherman clump is the sad kid in high school that always gotten teased due to his weight so one he gets tired of being teased (Although he’s a genius) and decides to create a potion and when he drinks it he becomes some one who he wants to be. At the end (this scene) he’s having an episode and fighting with accepting his true self. I don’t know I just saw something different here. I use to suffer from bipolar disorder so I viewed it differently
Hope you are doing well and you have a good rest of the year
I love this interpretation! I always felt the Buddy Love/Sherman dynamic is deeper than some people give this movie credit for!
You're right
Personality disorder
I swear I was just thinking this the speech at the end really touched my heart because I see myself in both of them it was a touching message of self love

The nutty professor was way better than nutty professor two own...i saw this when it first came out had me laughing so hard
I always love Eddie Murphy. Funny and mostly able to play many character roles in one film. Norbit, Nutty Proffessor and I love it when he play as Mushu in Disney Mulan and Donkey in Dreamwork Shrek. So Iconic.
Eddie Murphy is not just playing a comedic parody version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He also played 4 other members of his family such as Mama Murphy & Grandma Murphy and guru Lance Perkins as well.
He was great actor indeed.
Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey are the only comedians I like
