44:20 BOYARD:-The password was TRAIN, and this lot were lucky to spot it. More like this lot were lucky to get away with murder in my opinion, maybe it comes natural to them being tax-inspectors.
I think you're overreacting. They only got enough to earn themselves fifth place on the leader board and they wouldn't be there by the end of the season. Whatsmore I don't think there were any set rules for the ordeals when it came to replacing contestants who couldn't do them, or maybe they were more lenient in the later seasons. Then again only twice did a contestant flat out refuse to try the snake pit game through fear, this episode and episode 4 of series 2.
Yes they only got as far as 5TH PLACE on the leader board but that's not the point! They still got money of the game show by breaking the rules & cheating in the ordeals, if the teams didn't receive any money from the gold collected then that's a different matter altogether, but as far I am aware the gold they collected was always converted to cash later on! So these tax-inspectors robbed a game show and should be ashamed of themselves!
@@MrJJLincoln90 Not to mention that Alex actually did better than Mike because she actually stepped inside the Snake Pit, whereas Mike just stood there doing nothing.

Heather gave some wise outside advice too when Michelle did the tube by giving the team the idea to get her out early. But then… Michelle was scared in the Tube so maybe she suffers claustrophobia? Mike 'Wobbly' did not deserve any of the gold at all, especially as he was like come on team you've got to do this when he couldn't even do the Snake Pit, Amanda from Series 1 Episode 7 did better than he did, at least she stayed in their for the whole time limit
As someone with ophidiophobia I can't really say anything as I wouldn't have done much better. But it still begs the question, if he knew there would be an ordeal involving something he had an acute fear of why did he even bother applying for the show?
They cheated in the Snake Pit, surely your not allowed to swap places with another player. I always thought the rules in the ordeals state, if you can't do the ordeal you forfeit the clue word, so they cheated and really shouldn't be winners in my opinion.
The rules did vary version by version. They did allow it in the French version but since stopped that rule. Neil McAndrew in the celeb special nearly had a replacement volunteered but she went in afterall. One time in the children's special, the original person was too scared to do it but no one else volunteered!
Thanks for confirming this with me, I did always think though is it really fair that were allowed to get away with this, but then again, it's Channel 5 that would be losing the money if they allowed them to do it, and when I think about it, a similar thing happen during one of the Series 2 FINAL CHASE's on THE CHASE, the team beat the beast only because someone interrupted The Beast during one of his question which allowed the team to win, I wonder if ITV had them done for Fraud just like the guy on Millionaire.
As was possibly the entire team. The only good people on this team were really Nick & Heather, Stuart wasn't too bad, but Mike & Michelle are definitely the worst of the worst.
