I think the only "pure" nepenthes I have is a gracilis. It's been the fastest growing nepenthes of the 5 that I have. I think it's starting to vine, it's really stretching out and having big leaf jumps.
I love my hybrids! I love watching these amazing scientific approach videos, but I’ve always been a try try try again gardener and I love to see what surprises I’ll get. I lose my plant tags. But as most everything is hybrid, they’re all mutts. My well loved mutts.
ventricosa x maxima aka Gaya is the species I own and is extremely resilient and forgiving to a newbie like me even though the main plant kinda looks bad it's babies underneath it look extremely healthy
For sure, N. Gaya is a great beginner species (but don't go too cold at night). And by the way, the full parentage of this plant is Nepenthes khasiana x (ventricosa x maxima). :)
@@WindowsillNepenthes Currently it's inside my apartment which the temperature is about 72F or 22C ish I own a snake so my apartment has to stay above 20C
It's only inside until the temperature is consistent above 55F or 13C at night. I got a few other tropical plants in my collection along with arid types so they dislike the current temperature. Today I could bring them outside but, I don't want to stress them by moving them in and out repeatedly.
Great vid! And maybe for future discussions: why would you use the americanized way of pronouncing "veitchii" or "lowii" with the long "i" at the end? Coming from a Latin rooted language, shouldn't we try to educate growers about the right way of saying it (like "ih-ee" and not "ih-ay")? 🤔
I mean I get the whole wanting a pure species you could find in the wild but I want something that’s gonna grow even if I mess up lol love both of em
Hey Remy, could you make a video on highland nepenthes and growing chambers for them? I am trying to get into growing them.
Now that I have a tent, I will be able do this kind of video :) Even if mine is more 'intermediate' than highland
Nice!
hi remy your the best love your vids
Agreed
We need to help and support the channel

Hi remy can you show one time in a Video how that you build your windowsill?
I'll try to get my hands on archives then. :)

Opinion Species... hybrids are for beginners.

Honestly not keeping neps for prestige or popularity. I just think they re cool so easy hybrids are fun and rewarding
I love your channel very informative + your plants are gorgeous. An idea for a series: your viewers submit their nepenthes setup and you rate it

Very interesting, It's just because I never heard of the "real spelling". I'll need to see if I can find an latin voice generator :D
Or just get some of both 😝
Speaking of pure species my rajah comes in the mail today🥰

I prefer hybrid, they more strong
I agree, especially on a windowsill. But pure species are better for making seeds.
@@WindowsillNepenthes yeah and pure species can find easier in the wild, in the road of Indonesia
