hi...main confusion comes when identifying between futur anteriur,plus que parfait and imparfait. imparfait we know both actions take place at same time plus que parfait one blank would have already been filled....with either avoir/etre(in imparfait) or after translation it comes to be in past. futur anterieur we translate or avoir/etre in futur simple is the indicator. hope this helps edit: there are also indicators for this tense such as quand,aussi tot,des ques etc
There are 17 verbs which are conjugated with etre as auxiliary and they can be remembered by DR MRS VANDERTRAMP (or) ADVENT R4 DP these verbs + all the pronominal verbs Other than these all are conjugated with avoir

it's similar to passe compose. Use with the transitive verbs like or and etre with intransitive verbs, prominal verbs and action verbs.
