Hyundai is absolutely killing it right now. As a single guy who loved the Ioniq 5 but didn't need that much car, I'm thrilled that we're getting something smaller next.
It's probably not hyperbole to say that Hyundai is the car manufacturer of the 21st century so far. Not forgetting sister brand Kia too, they've come from making cars you wouldn't be seen dead in, to some of the most desirable cars on the road, all inside about 30 years is truly remarkable.
This car has a 2002 ford Mondeo lights strapped on a super stretched VW Beetle out from a something like cyberpunk 2077 vibe... I reckon the ioniq 5 looks cooler
Maybe it looks better in the flesh, but I'm not sold on it. From the front and front 3/4 view it looks mostly like a Citroen DS. But the back droops away too much and the front is pretty snoozy. It's a 5/10 for me.
My brother in law has driven Hyundais since the cars were of much lower quality. One time, he had the transmission replaced for free. Now, their cars are quite good. This electric looks nice.
If the Ioniq 6 looks this good, I cannot wait for the Kia version to be the coolest looking car ever created. The first image that pops into my head is the Lexus Coupe and Sedan EV concepts, but consumer car
One got to understand Hyundai and Kia have their aesthetic design team in/from Europe for the last two decades at least. This model brings us back to one of their earlier Sonata design queue.
Thank you Hyundai for taking a chance with these designs. They look awesome and aren’t just another nondescript vehicle on te road. Now just let us buy them directly from your website and we’ll be all set.
The concept looked like a Porsche, the production Ioniq6 looks more like a 4 door Citreon from the 1960s - only that the Citreon's looked better. Sorry a Fail from me on this production interpretation of a cool concept.

@@alunesh12345 Stop spamming your religious bs. Go away.
@@maverick9769 Go look at an old Mercedes CLS nothing “out-of-the-box” here….
@@WhatsThatsmell69 True for rear slope down but its more of a 4 door vw bug than a 4 door coupe because of the crazy short overhangs and short hood.
Just so you know Matt, in Hong Kong, there was a low flying plane hit the car on a bridge, so the rear light might be useful…..sometimes……
I never thought I’d ever think about buying a Hyundai but this one is a beauty!!! 😍😍😍
Somehow it looks like a stretched Beetle to me.
The car itself looks okay, though the rear end looks like a Mercedes GT 4 door Coupe, but very saggy... That rear end is a deal breaker in my opinion...
If you're from Australia or New Zealand, are you getting AU Falcon vibes from this rear end? I definitely am...
Gosh and here I thought I'd be the only one. The back is fugly in my opinion.
Nah the rear is like a Porsche. The front also like a weird Audi and Porsche design
Also I don’t know how Mat thinks this is the best looking car of this year?? it really doesn’t. In fact even Ioniq 5 literally looks an Audi Q series car
@@venia..4529 shut up bot
@@andrewolff708 it looks exactly like a 97 ford puma to me lmao !
@@girlsdrinkfeck Oh gods, you are right...
Not even a Hyundai person but their recent design language has been really intriguing
Can they please make 45 EV? Probably the coolest SUV till date would it be.
“Best looking car of 2022.” Have no other cars been released in 2022? Blech.

From the A pillar back this sedan looks like that Buick Riviera’s of the late 1950’s a really gorgeous
Great video as always, aside from the obnoxious "music".
Reminds me of first gen Mercedes CLS
@Ghea Pubi🪐 go away
Or the AU Falcon, which MB copied 🤣🤣🤣
I'm liking the styling of this car; Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis has come along way and I'm impressed. The silhouette reminds me of the Mercedes Benz EQS with a blend of other Mercedes products.
They need a Genesis 2-seater sports coupe that’s similar to this design

How’s the panel gaps?
Tesla: hold my geometry.
Looks like a stretch limo of a 2002 Audi TT and 2012 Audi A7..funky looking😆
And a cross between 2004 FALCON XR8.
Mercedes CLS from 2006
I've watched a few videos of this car now. No one has said it yet. The front looks a bit like the old Hyundai coupé lol.

Ioniq 5, Unique and quite a strong design, this reminds me of a 90s Infiniti J3, front and back. It’s like someone lifted the design
the front looks little like hyundai tiburon. beautiful car.
Initially thought it’s hideous, but on second look I actually think it’s a better looking sportier eqs with porsche accents on outside at least. Can be even better in different colours.
Better looking than the eqs, is a very low bar. The eqs is a blob, compared to the awesome concept car design of the eqs.
The build quality though... Jisssss, hope no one will talk about it.
Those who bought Ioniq 5 are now smashing their tables.
Kind of looks like a 90's porsche panamera (if there was!!!)
See the Mercedes CLS from 2006! It’s like the brother
Matt must be this cars mother, because this is beauty only a mother could love.
Cars like this , the lucid air, any polestar they show what EVs can look like
This car has a 2002 ford Mondeo lights strapped on a super stretched VW Beetle out from a something like cyberpunk 2077 vibe...

Rear end reminds me of Porsche 911
The sides from a Mercedes CLS of 2006
My brother in law has driven Hyundais since the cars were of much lower quality. One time, he had the transmission replaced for free. Now, their cars are quite good. This electric looks nice.
I do a 230 mile round trip regularly in my model 3 and it usually has about 45 miles left over.
The exterior looks more like an early 2000s car with strange add ons

It looks awesome - hope it has cool artificial sounds to match!
Not a big fan of the Ioniq 6 initially, but I just saw the Ioniq 6 in black on a Korean car channel. Looks so much better in black.
Looking forward to your vid of an actual model.
How ya liking that Turbo S Matt? 😎

The Hyundai and Kia are some of the best looking cars on the roads these days.
It would really help reviews like this to open with saying which market sector the car is in, how big and what price range.

Love the styling of this
Nope. I'm not feeling it. That rear is too messy and too complex. I like simple and understated designs.
I'll take the VW ID. Aero all day, everyday.

I really like this one! I driving the classic Ioniq, this could be my next Ioniq!
Hi Carwow, how do I claim my prize? 🤓
Waduhh om Fitra sm Ridwan hanif baru beli yg ionic 5, dah keluar aj ioniq 6, damn
It's so ironic that Topgear and Carwow always post together but 1 is in-depth review and others as shown here
Can’t imagine a person thinking “hmm, what do I want of my car’s interior? Recycled fishing nets, veg oil, and whatever garbage manufacturers used to save their costs!” No! I don’t care! I want to hear “it reduces my car’s price but still as good as dead animal skin.

@@earthur715 what? So you think buying an electric car that needs a power station to charge it and it weights 2.5ton.. is saving the enviroment? Get a brain and stay off social media
not gna lie, that "10 years ago" car that was shown looks pretty nice.
I'm I the only one who noticed the tail lights rhyming to the end beats🥁
Gorgeous
Prefer the look of old I40. This EV looks senseless
👍👏👏
Glossy dark blue skin (or what was that for the original concept) would make it perfect. Nice job Hyundai.
I can't wait for a review of the Ionic 6 🤩🤩🤩
Ioniq 5 look much better IMO.
The proportions are way off with the 6.
Not going to lie, the look is starting to grow on me. The only thing that could improve the design is making it a bit wider by giving it a wider fender flares.
That would increase the drag coefficient though wouldn't it?
@@thisaraperera3678 that is true, but I'm pretty sure it's not that much. Also, making the car a bit wider could improve the handling performance.
