If you look up Pete and bas's real name you will see they are amateur actors on IMDb and sinduworld the group that's behind Pete and bas also made the group frank and Maury using the same voices but in a American accent. Also if you listen to Pete and bas's live performances they dub over their voices with the recording but their real voices leak out still and they sound nothing like the studio voices. They are also incapable of keeping up with the flow and they probably only remember about half the words. It's all a gimmick
@@mcgee6177 you are just parroting what that Retard Rise said. the fact you think that voice on the Frank and Maury video could be confused for Bas & Pete tells me all i need to know and also why people who have no experience with music production shouldn't make claims like they can tell the difference between two recorded voices. the voices in Frank and Maury aren't even real. they are formant shifted and recorded with varispeed (look it up i can't be arsed explaining it to you)i could probably go out my way to try to return the pitch and formants to resemble what the original voice is to put an end to this bullshit, but i aint invested enough to do that unless somebody wants to chuck me some coin for me to bother with it(eh heh)
More to the point, the writing and general execution of the Frank and Maury stuff is utter cheese. it's crap to be completely honest. i have a hard time buying that the same teams are involved. as for Bas and Pete being ghost written i think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. the slang is pretty archaic East/South London slang. it wouldn't even be used in Grime to be honest, so i think they do write their own shit, BUT somebody is possibly also helping them with fitting those bars into the flow. i imagine now they would of got it down by now that they could do it all on their own though. i've seen all the potential candidates that people have suggested as to who is behind them and i don't hear it. i really cannot stand Drill mostly because the lyrics are utter fucking nonsense and the wordplay is weaksauce/not witty and i'd stick Frank and Maury and whoever is behind them into the same boat, which is more evidence for me that these production teams cannot be the same people. even if they don't write their own bars, their deliveries are still rawer and more convincing even if the whole thing is an act than over 90% of Drill rappers which i'd rate only a tiny tier above mumble rappers. Pete and Bas are the first i have heard who have been able to capture the energy of Grime in its heyday on a Drill track and i'm all fucking for it ghost written or not
As for Bas not sounding the same live vs on recordings that's easily explained by something called the proximity effect which is like recording 101(look it up)
