    And so it starts from one impurity
    held in place by loveless security,
    always thrown around
    and beaten by squinted eyes
    that soon bear turned back, abstract views
    through broken bottles of brandy.
    I'm questioned all my life
    why I kept on saying that
    I didn't even ask to be here,
    you made that choice for me,
    enrolled me in your schools and church
    and in your god forsaken military.
    What cost do I pay for being born of you?
    My life, enslaved by passions that held away from me.
    Who is my mother?
    Where is her grace?
    Where is that subtle joy I crave?
    Who is my mother?
    Where is her grace?
    Where is that subtle joy I crave?
    It's gone, it's gone
    or should I say never existed anyway.
    Blurry winter clouds and snow melted by anger -
    My subscription. My addiction, my addiction.
    If I had one love in this world
    If I had one love in this world
    If I had one love in this world
    If I had one love in this... {you tried to take it away.}
    A pound of nuts is simply not enough to keep my rage at
    A pound of nuts is simply not enough to keep my rage at bay
    and though I didn't kill you.
    like you tried to do to me.
    I'm just as guilty
    because I would have wanted to be free

    The Brothers Karamazov deserves careers of music upon it. An opera wouldn't be enough. Maybe a Ring Cycle version would be decent Sparknotes.

    This voice of kid singing this amazing and powerful lyrics, that bass, it's fucking sick that they made this at 13-14 years old.

    Now actually, the interesting point is what the title of the song is saying. Mitya *Spoiler* wrongfully is dealt the punishment for parricide. What does it mean, then, to be "Dmitri Karamazov" (no patronymic!), with "the world" as your father? I would say he's standing in judgement in place of those who wrong the world. Or perhaps it means to atone for the sins of the world. That even a rotten prodigal can be transformed by suffering.
    Or maybe it's some teenagers who didn't read/get the book.:)

    Yeah, Dunsel is pretty sick but I think any track on Fortress beats any track on Scurrilous anyday. but hey I'm trynna spread word about a new prog metal/djent band they're called Corelia everyone reading this needs to check them out. RUclips 'Corelia Treetops'... shit is on

  • @seanandahalf
    @seanandahalf 15 лет назад

    @iSCREEMx I love you, it is metal, not mathcore or post hardcore or whatever other shit they have came up with

  • @MeanMustard650

    They were 13 when they recorded this.

  • @dnephi
    @dnephi 12 лет назад +1

    I'm going to agree on this one. Scurrilous had more complex songs, better structure, and more tasteful selection of electronic music/effects.
    I still listen to them all, anyways.

  • @seanandahalf
    @seanandahalf 15 лет назад

    @EliteBeast
    Grindcore, Melodic Death Metal, and Black Metal are all basically Death Metal. Children of Bodom would be just metal, Cannibal Corpse is Death Metal. And I considered Metal a genre so thats what Dream Theater is... not Thrash

  • @MrWiggerdale123
    @MrWiggerdale123 13 лет назад +2

    Scurrilous is a far more accomplished album than Fortress, the song's on it are far more listenable whilst retaining the technicality which everyone shat themselves over in Fortress. My problem with Fortress is that it is impressive but it's also overproduced and the first time I heard it I just couldn't dig, I still don't really dig it all that much now. Also, lyrically, Rody did a decent job with Scurrilous, particularly Tandem, but whatever. Also, good shout on Corelia :)

    @seanandahalf
    Sorry its not on wikipedia, btw i meant progressive hardcore as they are a progressive band with hardcore influences -_-.
    Also what about black metal? Grindcore? Meldoic Death Metal. Your telling me Children of Bodom is the same as Cannibal Corpse. Right. Dream Theater / Symphony X are metal. What are they? Thrash. Lmao...

  • @KingKrebin
    @KingKrebin 14 лет назад +1

    @Mscanman Disagree. Fortress lacked a lot in emotional power. I prefer Kezia for that reason.

  • @disnig69
    @disnig69 13 лет назад +1

    @franlespaul scurrilous does not own! how can you say that lol the lyrics are so wack fortress has incredible lyrics, is so much catchier, and at the same time more bad ass metal in general it's downnn fortress is unbeatable

  • @DudeGuy.Esquire
    @DudeGuy.Esquire 7 лет назад +2

    late to the party but i think demo and acuos beats kezia which beats foretress which beats all the other releases (yeah im one of those who cant adjust along with the band)
    as far as brothers Karamazov thats a beast of a book and i was only able to make it about 2/3rds in. somewhere around the point aleksie alyoshenka whatever u wanna call him was meeting katarinova or whatever her name is lol. damn book takes 300 pages to say very little. anyway thats me attempting to read it like 10 years ago. (cause of this song, no less) should prolly dust it off and start over

    They are definitely not "Progressive Hardcore" seeing as that isn't a genre. They would be metal.

  • @seanandahalf

    All the sub-genres are really gay though. The only sub-genres I use for metal is Thrash, Death, and Metal. Its either Thrash or Death, if it doesn't fit in those then it is just Metal
