Simon Petrikov's arc in this entire show and Adventure Time as a whole might be one of the best-written character arcs in an animated show, it should be up there with other great character arcs like Zuko from A: TLA. It's such a very compelling and heartfelt journey to see Simon go from losing the love of his life, raising Marceline, losing his sanity and becoming Ice King, gaining his sanity back and reuniting with Betty, losing Betty again as she fuses with the embodiment with chaos, suffering through a severe depression, travelling through the multiverse and finally reuniting with Betty and coming to terms with the sacrifices she made and learning from their time together, and now Simon sees how important his life is and truly accepts it. Simon's story finally has an ending and it truly feels satisfying and poetic
It's kinda sad for me how people saying Simon or Betty aren't getting their "Happy ending" Yeah it's not perfect, but i think that it's really romantic and pretty how their final goodbye is realising and appreciating all they had gone trough and saying sorry for their mistakes, and acnowledging each one sacrifices for the other too It couldn't have ended a better way i think, it was really pretty for me, even their phrases for eachother as Simon saying "You were everything" and Betty being "You were a good experience" shows how they tell what the other one would have told in the past, but now they saying what the other would say because they have grown up It's true love winning and that is what i appreciate of it
The ending was a little emotional to deliver for the series elements with Fionna and Cake, but i understand the whole concept from that universe. I also understand Simon emotional state and he later realizes that he needs to let Betty go and find something that makes himself happy and put his past events at peace. He failed to save her after a few failed attempts on getting her back.
Just to say, Simon didn't make Nova & Casper, Astrid did. That's why she's seen sketching them both out when Simon's teaching her about the 90s. So, it comes full circle, that Simon inspired the person who helped him in the end.
Their are 4 things I loved with this ending; 1. Seeing a fitting conclusion between Simon and Betty. While their relationship had its issues I'm glad to see them settle into their new lives. Whi know Golbetty was transforming when simon left so maybey she escaped or branched off of Golb. 2. Seeing that with Fionna and cake it, while they didn't get the exact magical world they came from it was a health blend. 3. The lich's end. Seeing what happens to the lich kind makes me think how many time has the lich killed all life just to meet Golb and get tetrisied. 4. I know the scarab was kind of the antagonist of this series but, he's not really a bad person he's just one of those coworker that take their job way to seriously. Seeing him and prismo begin to get along is nice😊
@@AntError_exist But the litch hand can "see" the other variations. So probably the remaining Litch hands saw what happened to the OG Litch and thought, "Scew Golb ill live here"

Also for how Fionna's universe became canon, new universes are created through wishing to Prismo. Him creating the universe without someone wishing for him to is why it's unauthorized, but with Fionna and everyone else using their wishes to let their universe exist, it's now authorized as a "wish" universe.
Did anyone else find GolBetty just casually sitting on a bus funny or is that just me? Also, yes I do want you to make a video breaking down the mythology\lore of the original show.
I thought that Litch was a creation of Golb sent to balance the possible excess of life in the universe but in the end he was just kind of an obsessed fan
Seems more like a retcon, honestly they’re the monsters from the primordial chaos that spawned from Golb that is a surrogate for the demiurge or the lovecraftian azathoth. They’re basically described as destructive tendencies of the universe made manifest into a living avatars. To boil them down to a fan boy it’s just really trying to brush the whole thing under the rug because they don’t wanna give extra time into the deep lore They cooked up, but never flushed out.
My understanding of the multiverse in Adventure Time is that none of them are “real” per se. The basic premise is that conscious beings who observe it make it real through their belief and observation. This is how stuff like magic exists. In a sense, each living being carries a piece of their universe with them (also kind of explains the Lich’s obsession with ending life as that also ends the universe. I bet that universe doesn’t exist anymore as the Lich was the only being left to observe it.) When Fionna blew on that dandelion, each creature in that universe took in a part of the universe. Functionally, there is now no difference between their universe and the others. Thus, the Boss canonized them. That’s my theory at least.
Yeah, the universe not being in Simon's head anymore means that it will not be affected by his perception (magic existing when he wears the crown, snowing when he went to the Winter Kingdom, or having a gothic district when he was in the vampire universe), but by the perception of the living beings of this world, giving them their own agency over their reality (being canon, basically, they are not fiction character in someone's head).
The Adventure Time franchise will forever be timeless, since it's one of the few medias whose content grew up alongside its audience, something I will forever appreciate and respect 😊
I'm still curious what Golbetty was doing at the very end, when she blew Simon into that multiversal asteroid belt, she started to glow and change, but we never saw the end result of that change.
I disagree with you about the book Simon finds while he is shermy. When we go to the end of the last episode, we see that the little girl from ep 1 is the one drawing the characters while listening to Simon. She was inspired by what he made and went on to make a book that lasted a thousand years.
The book straight up said that it was written by Simon. This whoa series was amazing with some mind blowing reveals (I dont think Im ever gonna get over that Jerry reveal). If its like this, id definitely want more!
I think It was a dandalion was because in that one episode where she first met hunter, he told her about wishing with a dandalion and how she didn't believe it. ig it's like a nice lil call back and how Fionna has grown as a person.
For a moment I thought that the magic of Fiona's world would return and we would see Fiona's friends recovering their candy powers vampire powers, and magic hunter powers . and fight against Scarab
I hate magic/superpowers has to go away so you can grow up and or get real ending stories like that only works in stories were that stuff is not real anyway .
I think you missed the point of simon coughing up the thing, that was fionna and cake’s dimension. If you remember the episode in season 1 where finn gets the smart glasses and makes a 4 dimensional bubble, when he put the glasses on he learned the truth about the universe; everything big is a big version of something small, (or however he specifically said it). Basically everything exists within itself where the scale wraps around from becoming small to being the thing that makes up the entire thing. The flower was fionnas universe, and when she blew it on everyone else it became a part of everything where everyone in it made up the universe itself therefore canonizing it, where the unauthorized situation was where the nature of that universe was entirely dependent on the mind of a single ice king.
I really liked the conclusion of fionna and simon arcs especially simon how is officially the best best and the most tragic of adventure time but they did the litch dirty from death , the force of nature , the end to a simp of golb they give us one of the best characters and ruined one of the best villains
1:43 golb doesnt want to destroy all of reality he wants chaos No reality = no chaos he just wants perfect disorder but he cant achive that with out destroying things
I think you got it slightly wrong and that the creator of Casper and Nova is actually the little girl who is a fan of Simon as she's the one drawing them in the finale. It read to me that the inspiration from Simon is what leads her into creating her own book.
I'm just noticing now that Casper has bandages on his eyes. Is it to symbolize that he's blind to the reality of what he does to Nova? Also, I'm sure there's gonna be more. 'Fionna and Cake' has done A LOT of subtle little moments where the characters remove the magic/fantasy of things (like the hotdog knight turning into a regular hotdog, or the garlic-bomb turning into a regular garlic) to the point where near the very end, you can even see Prismo glitch a little, and the show makes a point of not really stopping or explaining these moments, to almost make you think "wait, what did I just see?". It's clear they're keeping that for later. Maybe Prismo is gonna get worse and he'll ask for help, or he'll realize that Fionna and Cake are carrying some kind of anti-magic virus or something.
This truly was one heck of a finale and it certainly seemed very conclusive, However, I can’t help but to wonder, if a Season 2 were still to happen, what would it even be about? Also, from what I understand, it seems like this Show has been referred to as Season 1, does that mean anything?
Honestly I would love an entire adventure time lore video, that sounds awesome. Adventure time is a series that I got really into since my teen years, when it first came out. Then I sort of stopped watching around season 5-6. The reason was that those seasons were too long for me😅 it felt that there was quite a lot of world building with lots of random characters (I get the point of it. They all matter in their small short lives, or one of stories) so I got back into watching Adventure Time when they did stuff like Marceline’s Stakes, Finns human story and bubblegums story. Simon/ice king was one of my favorite characters in the entire show. Also I went to rewatch the series when Max made the specials. Now a few years later it feels amazing to get more Adventure Time stories. The series and characters keeps growing with older fans. I hoped to get another season of Fiona and Cake. But honestly maybe a film of some sort to answer more questions would be nice. Either to see the future of Ooh and how it becomes kind of desolate. And a part of me wants to see what happened to Jake (maybe a masochist part of me😂)
I'm deeply concerned about Gibbon. His whole vibe screams "I'm overly strict and overbearing and tyrannical because I resented the freedoms and carefree parenting lifestyle given to me growing up". Jake would be disappointed.
Scarab told her that there would be consequences and that now that their world was canonized they weren’t in a safe little bubble anymore, that line was never addressed or resolved. Magic flows through the connected multi versus. It’s not that magic will never be there, it’s more that it wasn’t gonna be forcefully injected. Magic can now eb and flow into their world like any other. Cosmic rules now apply, including magic and monsters
Overall, i loved Fionna and Cake and sort of wish it had more episodes to explore more worlds; I did have two notable gripes with the finale though. Seeing baby Finn appear in the last episode sucked because it killed any chance of potentially seeing another Finn save a world overrun with vampires. Now i don't know how he would've gotten out of the situation he was in but the potential was there. I also didn't like how there was no mention of Farmworld Finn considering he took a hard headshot last time we saw him, unless i missed the explanation. Then we have the two lovebirds coming to Fionna and Cake world and staying there like its nothing, did Farmworld Finn ok this???
How Funny it would been if Prismo just Summon our Finn to help fight the Scarab and is like.. Finn: I'm going to use these hands to SOCK HIM IN THE CHOPS. IN THE CHOPS!
Spin of about Finn and Jake Future kinda interesting. We only see a small info during Distant Land. I also wondering about OTHER JAKE KIDS and his GrandChildren.
I feel as if the overall message would be acceptance. Accept things as they are and not how they could be. Rewatching the OG series and both spinoffs over the last few days have helped to greatly improve my mental state. I never was able to watch the series in its entirety as a kid and watching it all the way through as a 32 yr old "adult" has really done something for my mind and my heart. Somehow i was able to reconnect with myself and accept my life as it is and stop focusing on things that could have been. It's crazy bonkers how much insight and inspiration i jus gained from a silly cartoon. I hope to have more in the near future. Adventure Time is one of those things i hope never dies out.
That moment when Simon (as Shermy) realizes what he did to Betty was so tragic. It's easily one of the most emotionally mature things I've seen in an animated format, if not across all forms of media. You can just feel the guilt and regret as he realizes that even a little bit of selflessness could have given him a whole life with his love.
I dont think simon is the one to write the book he reads in the future, i bet it was the little girl from simon's present since in the finale she is drawing Casper & Nova
Ice king was Wintergreens Callousness and Simons Obliviousness compounded upon eachother. He also canonically has god tier rizz because Nice king was decidedly handsome af to every (straight) Princess when he had no beard.
Definitely want more from this series, I'd love more of Fionna and Cake and all these characters we met along the way from this show but would definitely be down with other universes being explored
Honestly my favorite part is the second chances her allies and the remaining rogue gods got. Not only did her universe get to survive. But it stands as a bastion for the rejects. A symbol of hope for a better tomorrow. I love it so much.
So I know that Betty turned the litch into one of those green blocks. Does that mean all of the green blocks there are alternate versions of the litch.
i dont think it was simon who wrote it, but rather the kid who liked ice king's stories as we can see her scribbling the characters on her notebook at the end.

@@TheArcv2 My bad if I miss understood the scene. What I’m still trying to understand the plot hole that is golb. If golb exits beyond time, then Betty was always golb. Unless there’s a clear answer it doesn’t make much sense to me.
@@SolaceWhore highly doubt it, it's not clear if Simon's name is the authors name
@@coolappledarmancier yeah I was wrong. It shows Astrid drawing the characters when she’s with Simon in the ending montage. Meaning she was inspired by the story he told her. So in a way yes, he was the reason the book got written, but it wasn’t him that wrote it
6:17 so It's like Betty made possible for Simon to give a part of himself to make Fionna's universe independent from his mind
I still can't get over Gumlee! Seriously they were so cute, and I'm glad they got some love 🥰🥰🥰
Hah bender gent (0:18 to be precise)
Bender gent my favourite type of fanfic
I really liked the conclusion of fionna and simon arcs especially simon how is officially the best best and the most tragic of adventure time but they did the litch dirty from death , the force of nature , the end to a simp of golb they give us one of the best characters and ruined one of the best villains
1:43 golb doesnt want to destroy all of reality he wants chaos
No reality = no chaos he just wants perfect disorder but he cant achive that with out destroying things
Yeah, but if they’re canon, so funeral also lose her arm like Finn and cake the cat will die like Jake
I think you got it slightly wrong and that the creator of Casper and Nova is actually the little girl who is a fan of Simon as she's the one drawing them in the finale. It read to me that the inspiration from Simon is what leads her into creating her own book.
Literally says on the book that Simon wrote it. It’s a time loop
If Fiona had touched the Vampire King, would she have turned him into a normal lion like his main universe version?
Aw man not the Bendergent guys
This truly was one heck of a finale and it certainly seemed very conclusive,
However, I can’t help but to wonder, if a Season 2 were still to happen, what would it even be about?
0:16 bendergent versions
Scarab told her that there would be consequences and that now that their world was canonized they weren’t in a safe little bubble anymore, that line was never addressed or resolved.
Magic flows through the connected multi versus. It’s not that magic will never be there, it’s more that it wasn’t gonna be forcefully injected. Magic can now eb and flow into their world like any other. Cosmic rules now apply, including magic and monsters
Yep.
I think farmworld finn died so his kid moved home?
@@TheAnimatedWondersBut his other kids will grow up without any parents. And their older brother just disappeared
I think it was implied the Fiona and Cake fan girl was the one who wrote Casper and Nova inspired by Simon
How Funny it would been if Prismo just Summon our Finn to help fight the Scarab and is like..
Finn: I'm going to use these hands to SOCK HIM IN THE CHOPS. IN THE CHOPS!
0:18 “bendergent” lol
Shout out to the music in this series would love an episode focused on that
yeah man, hit us with the lore video
0:18 a what?
This is EXACTLY the video I was searching for thank you sm. Imma subscribe
Thanks for subbing!
I love bendergent fanfic.
You say there is no magic, yet many of the imprisoned gods decided to live there along with Cake.
I was expecting the series to redcon Finn’s ending from obsidian because him throwing away his life just to meet Jake again is depressing 😰
“Bendergent” lol
Great episode! ❤
So is simon still immortal? which is main universe? what happened to shermy and beth?
god I love this show with my whole heart it ended perfectly and I hope there’s more seasons 🥹🩷🩷
Honestly im really hoping for a second season loved the show
I thought Simon would sing a song at the end closing the show playing his classic drums.
I give Fioona and cake a 9/10 very good show.
Yes I agree with you on that.
The ending I feel was so beautiful.
0:18 can we talk about how he said bender gent not gender bent
That moment when Simon (as Shermy) realizes what he did to Betty was so tragic. It's easily one of the most emotionally mature things I've seen in an animated format, if not across all forms of media. You can just feel the guilt and regret as he realizes that even a little bit of selflessness could have given him a whole life with his love.
I dont think simon is the one to write the book he reads in the future,
i bet it was the little girl from simon's present since in the finale she is drawing Casper & Nova
Name is literally on the book.
@@SolaceWhore i didn't see it

“bender gent” 😭😭
Well the wish was really insane seeing fiona and cakes world became canonized in the multiverse of adventure time
after Betty sent Simon back to his universe, she started glowing, then it looked like she disappeared, what could it mean?
We never saw prismo boss and seeing orbo, my theory is prismo boss created golb
Ice king was Wintergreens Callousness and Simons Obliviousness compounded upon eachother. He also canonically has god tier rizz because Nice king was decidedly handsome af to every (straight) Princess when he had no beard.
I would say Fiona and cakes world has a pinch of magic whereas The Original Adventure Time Has buckets full
love the video!
Definitely want more from this series, I'd love more of Fionna and Cake and all these characters we met along the way from this show but would definitely be down with other universes being explored
This show did not disappoint, every little moment felt big, just like back then.
Honestly my favorite part is the second chances her allies and the remaining rogue gods got. Not only did her universe get to survive. But it stands as a bastion for the rejects. A symbol of hope for a better tomorrow. I love it so much.
What happened to Fionna and Cake randomly making magical things non magical? It killed the Winter King but it also just got forgotten.
The ice thing does have ice magic because of the ice thingdom and also gibbons ice powers
So I know that Betty turned the litch into one of those green blocks. Does that mean all of the green blocks there are alternate versions of the litch.
I wish they bring back the magic, so that i can see marshal and gumball be immortal lovers together
6:16 in the original show the universe looked like a cube with a circle in it.
Cake literally gave away some of the episodes in the Intro, specifically the Bat and the Tetris Cube
0:17 Heh, bender gent.
i dont think it was simon who wrote it, but rather the kid who liked ice king's stories as we can see her scribbling the characters on her notebook at the end.
I love bender gent characters 😂
I love you voice i could play it when im going to sleep
