Здоров! Я калмык. Наши предки были в составе Союза Четырёх племён. Современный монгольский язык резко отличается от калмыцкого, особенно на востоке Монголии. Я читал, что на нашем говорят на западе, аккурат там где кочевали джунгары и ойраты.
@halmgar we Mongolians are not the East ones. We were in the middle. East mongols are now I'm china named Inner mongolia. I am oirat person from mongolia and most elders talk exactly like her. There are many different accents in mongolia, if u travel to countryside. But in the city we were forced to talk like khalkhs during times in USSR. It's because Russians wanted to make people believe that buryats and kalmyks are not mongols. It happened to almost all of the minorities in Russia. And it even happened to Mongolians. I remember when I was kid in kindergarten the teachers would repeatedly taught not to use certain words. I still remember some of those words and the teachers would say that it's not real word. And because of it, if you use these words kids (my classmates) would make fun of you. But few years ago, I found out that these words were buryat and kalmyk words that we would also understand but doesn't use in daily basis because of those shaming. Most of the people forgot those words bcs they portrayed it as if it was bad words. You see mongols use to understand each other without problem, but now we cannot because of our dialects. I mean I still can understand most of the words and talking but it's not 100%. And most younger kids can not understan, they probably doesn't even know it exists as a form of mongolian. Anyways there are Oirats mongol provinces in mongolia. But most ppl calls it by Uvs dialect.
