    Hi Caroline. So glad your kitty has made a recovery and you can still give him his best life. Wow, 20 years old is incredible. 3 weeks ago we lost our beautiful Benji, (Maltese Shih-Tzu) he was 16 & a half, had a wonderful life with us from Uk to France and back the last 18 months. He got cancer and we had 2 days to process it all and because he was in pain we had to do what was kind to him. To say we are heart broken is an understatement. When you don’t have children, your animals are your fur babies. I’ve been grieving him so badly. So we’ve booked a 12 days cruise on Cunards latest ship to the Fjords and I think it will help us at this sad time. So sorry about your friends daughter. So many sad stories at the moment, so we appreciate your cheerful vlogs. Sending love x

    It's a good sign if Ron is still enjoying his food! Years ago, we babysat a 24 year old cat. He ate chopped up raw kidneys. Still had an appetite but he had lumps under his fur, screeched like he was in some kind of pain and didn't always make it to the litter box. He was very much loved by his owners.

    Hope that shoe cupboard decluttering made you feel better, I wish I had your skill at decisions on what to keep/discard etc. I am just about to empty a plastic container and put some of my summer shoes/sandals away - they have been in there all summer not worn, as we didn’t really have the weather! As I am going on holiday this Saturday I am only retrieving the ones I am likely to wear and the rest go in a spare bedroom until I return and have time to attack the job. This video was a bit of light relief in some ways, as I feel some of the sadness about loss/impending loss as you do. Life is so precious, we need to be very serious about it’s use.

Wrong, wrong, wrong! 🤬 Aww, poor old Ron... you may remember me mentioning my 21 year old puss-cat Maisie. We had to say goodbye to her back in May. 💔 She was tired and we could tell she just wanted to go to sleep. An absolute must for us in the Autumn is Sausage Leek & Potato carsserolel You make the leek & potato soup as you would normally do and keep a seperate pot and add the sausage with some carrotts and a small onion. So you actually get a soup and a main. Its delicious. Just fry or grill the sausage fist before you add to your pot. Then simmer on low heat for aroun 15 mins. I sometimes even cut up some small potatoes and add them also. Yum! Yes, I have noticed a lot of "Americanisms" in our language nowadays, one of my pet peeves is the date. We say Wednesday 26th September, NOT Septermber 26th! Lol. Would you mind me asking where you got your nude evening shoes you showed in your declutter please? I can’t imagine what your best friend is going through, to lose a child (adult or child) is probably most parents’ nightmare, but you just being there is I’m sure a godsend. On a lighter note, the Americanisation of British English…. I’m actually American by birth but have lived in the UK since the age of 4 (61 now) my Dad is retired US military and just stayed here, as you do! This does mean that I have used both American English and British English my entire life so it really does not bother me but saying that complete understand your frustration and I would never deliberately use the American version of a word here, but often do when talking to my Dad. Anyhoo, have waffled enough 😜 bye for now x

    So sorry for your friend's loss. You're right, no parent should bury their child. That is so sad. Yep, globalization is to blame for your complaint about losing British words/phrases. I follow several RUclipsrs from the UK and I rather enjoy learning all the different ways you say things than we do (I'm American). Like hoovering for vacuuming and most especially I have picked up how you all tack on a question at the end of some sentences. And I think it's fun :) So here's an example right there: It's rather fun, isn't it? It's that "isn't it?" that I've picked up and now use. I rather enjoy it. One word I just do not understand however: aluminum. It's not aluminium, is it? (see I did it again? ha!) Wind screen? Um, there's no screen there so I'll stick with windshield 🤗 Anyway, yes it's globalization and I think it's here to stay. I have wanted to commend you for how you go through things regularly. I am in the midst of moving house and my goodness but I wish I had done the decluttering that you do regularly. If I had, I'd have been done weeks ago. Alas....I'm still going through old things but I can finally see the light at the end of that tunnel, whew!! Maybe in my new place I'll adopt your decluttering routine on a regular basis. It’s a gift to be able to be with those who we love so much and so essential for them too. This was an interesting vlog thank you. I’m going to use your hello fresh code so looking forward to that. The warm sunny September days have been an uplift. As for Carla saying “zee” obviously she’ll need to pay a forfeit 😂😂you’re very forgiving of course 😆We need to keep ENGLISH English. On the subject of the Americanisation of British English, I've noticed that we are adopting "swim lessons" for swimming lessons, and "shave foam" for shaving foam. I expect it's the internet that's to blame, irritating as it is. I've also noticed UK youtubers (not yourself) using US phraseology in their delivery. Also irritates the hell out of me, or should that be "hellatta me?" Thanks for keeping me company this Saturday morning. xx

    LOL being Canadian, we say "zed" but our products have expiration dates, don't use the word autumn all that much although my niece is named Autumn. We too have many US expressions creeping in and as long as they are efficient, I'm okay with that. I use a jet of water in my laundry sink to flush out the plastic in my rug shampooer so perhaps you could try it with a hose? So glad Ron is okay and I truly empathize with your friend as my daughter died 10 years ago. I had to put her 14 year old cat down a few weeks ago and it was heartbreaking. I am sure they are together now. Loved your shoe declutter but I wondered why you didn't move the summer shoes up to a higher shelf and bring down the more autumnal ones for easy access. It's hard to see the extent of the closet so perhaps it just makes sense to you to leave them as they are. Again, deepest sympathies on such a horrible loss.

      So sad for you, it must have been such a wrench losing your daughter's cat recently, lovely that you are able to think of them together now, a little bit of comfort :). You're right about the summer/autumn shoes, let's just say I wasn't thinking straight that afternoon!

    So sorry to hear about your beloved cat🐈 My cat Dorie lived to be 21, died of old age peacefully.😢 She had a good long life though❤❤
    I agree with you about Americanisms creeping in everywhere, really grinds my gears 😐 the way they pronounce 'privacy' seems to have been adopted by lots of British folk now. Drives me mad.🙄🤨🤯

    So sorry about your loss. I would recommend the book "The Lost Words" by Robert Macfarlane for any child's stocking this Christmas. "All over the country, there are words disappearing from children's lives. These are the words of the natural world; Dandelion, Otter, Bramble and Acorn, all gone. A wild landscape of imagination and play is rapidly fading from our children's minds."

      @CarolineMrsM  Месяц назад

      Thank you for sharing that book, it looks lovely. I think this is one thing for which the blame can be squarely laid at parents' feet, imagine not valuing the natural world around us enough to want to share it with your children and teaching them about it. Unthinkable in my world.

    Your rant is so funny because this drives me mad too - the license plate thing is just that whoever bought the software bought it from the US developer and didn’t pay to change it. The one that really grates is people who say ‘gotten’ - it’s not a British English word, never has been! 😤 there are many others of course and it all comes from people’s obsession with watching awful US reality (& other) tv series (also, series, not seasons in this context 😂)
    I have to say, the coral red you are wearing in your rant looks fabulous on you.
    Decluttering is good for the mind and sole - take care

    Uk vloggers in the uk who talk in American dollars rather than British pounds.
    I understand they have American viewers.
    But when I watch USA content I don’t expect they to convert everything to GBP.
    Talk in the currency of your country, please. If I need to know the current conversion rates, I’ll google it.
