What a skill for a driving a rare car, and I can't wait to see the paddle shifters being slapped in this year's gen 3! I'm Brazilian and I'm a HUGE fan of V8 Supercars
Nice stuff Harri! Who owns the car now? Also, ever tried to the left foot brake technique sorta what Greg Murphy, Fabian Coulthard and Steve Johnson do/did in their time in Supercars? (Personally I left foot braked while testing at Winton a few years ago in an ex-BJR Falcon)
Hey mate, the car has a motorsport gearbox which uses dog rings instead of synchros which you would find in your road car. This means we can shift without a clutch as long as we take load of the gearbox (either by lifting out of the throttle, or in this case the car has a strain gauge which cuts ignition for a fraction of a second to allow the gear to slip in). I hope this makes sense :)
I absolutely love the deep sub tone that these cars have at high rpm
Thanks heaps for posting an extended clip… so good!
No dramas mate! Glad you liked it :D
When v8 supercars was in its prime
Awesome stuff! Love the H pattern
Thanks mate!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍 what a beast
Real car with a real box. Would give my left bollock for a few laps in this.
Not your right?

Thanks mate!! Supercars are fantastic :D
Paddle shifters have finally been ruled out for the Gen 3 supercar.
@@zoltrix7779 WHAT THE HECK DID V8 SUPERCARS DO! This isn't right! But the mustangs should stick out the gear lever

Hey how are you able to switch gears without clutch?

Science and shit bro...
Fantastic video! Clutch in between 2&3 though?
How did you buy this ex hrt car
Philip island Circuit in Australia Melbourne its the host of the Motorcycle Grand Prix
A real V8 Supercar. Not the current control chassis shitboxes we have today
this isn't standard they had sequential gearboxes when the VE chassis came out. Someo0ne has retro fitted a dog box into the chassis.
No mate, they began with a H pattern and went to sequential in later years, '08 or '09 from memory 😁
