    I think the Cavs will finish top 3 in the East with 55+ wins. But I don’t think Evan Mobley needs to become a volume 3pt shooter. 2 attempts per game will suffice. They still lack clarity at the small forward position though

    one thing about the playoffs, the defence translated. they had the best d rating in the playoffs, and funnily enough allen/mobley grabbed more total boards than randle/robinson. what really killed them was long rebounds from the knick guards, and most importantly the offence. their offensive rating was one the worst in the last 15 playoffs. if they had scored as well as the last place hornets, they actually win the series😂 garland and mitchell had no space and got so many turnovers trying to force things. evan mobley rushed all his decisions in the short roll despite killing there in the regular season, which led to jarrett allen not getting opportunities, as he relies on them to get him buckets. so if the cavs big 3 can perform, and translate their #9 offence to the playoffs, things will go a lot differently than last season

  • @willhunting8733
    @willhunting8733 Год назад +15

    I think the cavs success over the next few years is almost entirely dependent on the progression of Mobley. If he can take a similar leap to JJJ on the grizzlies, they can very quickly find themselves in an ECF with a top 2 seed. If he doesn’t take the offensive leap, they might be stuck and even lose Mitchell in just a few short seasons.

    • @jsports2665

      I'm a Mobley fanboy. But he's gotta step up this third year of his career. We know he's already a top 5 rim protector but advanced stats but his offensive game needs to improve midrajge to three....

      mobley already reaching jjj offensively. 19 ppg post all star break last year. if he reaches his potential he’ll drop a very efficient 23-24 a game. also shown a LOT more potential as a rebounder and playmaker. darius garland is a part of this equation. he can reach mitchells level and contend for all nba teams every year. if they both become perennial nba guys, cavs wont just be an ECF threat, they could the best team in the league

    also evan mobley post all star break; 17.5/9.3/3.3 with 0.7 and 2.0 steals/blocks on 56.3/26.7/62.4 shooting. his turnovers also went down 2.0 to 1.3 as his assists went up. he is definitely on the right track, and will be a 20/10/5 guy before we even know it. even if the 3 comes along slower than anticipated, his finishing, mid range touch and IQ makes scoring easier for him seemingly every game

    They got the players. My doubt revolves around JB Bickerstaff and his ability to adjust to tough situations/utilizing the bench/letting his starting players rest/not spend his timeouts arguing with the refs./use his timeouts correctly

    With no experience in the post season because even tumbling the year b4 in the play in… they still wasn’t going to beat the nets or hawks who has well enough experience. Consistency is key from our top scorers and hard nose defense is gonna help us to get to ECF 💯

    Don’t sleep on Sam Merrill contributing in some role. He’s an ELITE shooter and is another addition to the roster that addresses the shooting deficiency the Cavs had. One of the best outside shooters you can ever ask for.

  • @TheTruth923

    Mitchell didn't come close to out rebounding Mobley and Allen by himself. Allen and Mobley out rebounded Mitchel + Randle. The back court of the knicks completely destroyed the Cavs along with their bench rebounding as well.

    No they not Cavs are so overrated to me sure they have Donovan Mitchell but the rest of the team especially the bench isn't great, if Garland and Mobley take huge jumps and Garland becomes an elite second option and Mobley wins DPOY I could see them making some noise, but with the other top contenders in the East such as the Celtics, Bucks, and even the Knicks who they beat in the first round btw I can't see them being a true Finals contender just yet, and if they disappoint once again don't be surprised if Mitchell's gone by next year and they start it all over again, love you Cone you my brother but I just can't agree with you on this take, at least for this season.
