All you hear from the Western media is how bad China's economy is. Yet, China's technology innovation is winning more and more business from the world. The Western economy is supported by debt and consumption. China's economy is supported be innovation and export.
Debt of China most not understand. Their debt extreme to, add to that decreasing population because one child policy for so long. Western countries are threatened by baby boomers retiring, but China challenges much worse. China innovations may save them faster than the west.
China are 20 years ahead when it comes to battery tech and this is showing. I wouldn't buy an EV without an LFP battery which means it will come from China. Other areas within the Chinese economy are not as good as they were and they have a property crisis.
We agree China economy is supported by innovation and export and leading in many way and getting more and more business from the world.
In counter part, no, most Western media from long time ago said to us how fast China got to the position to be near to beat the leader, the US in economy, and most of Western know it. This said, China is far to be perfect (As US country and most countries). China have many flaws too which will be long story to say all. One of them, is information in China, entirely government controlled, no real liberty in what allowed to say, example, Tiananmen square, China want his version trust by his population while the rest of the world it's another story. Like I said, with China, it's others flaws.
China has plenty of debt - their market is huge
@@tonymccreath4540No, you are the one who doesn't understand. There simply isn't anything that would signal a reason for concern in China's public finances. The current account remains in surplus and the fiscal deficit is trivial. At 3.8% it is 1.9% lower than the USA's fiscal deficit. Gross debt (including private debt) does present an unusual looking situation for China and for every other nation. China's gross debt is 270% (and so is the USA's). France's gross debt is even higher. Rather than making unsupportable claims about this debt, I will just say the obvious, China's gross debt is unremarkable in comparison to other counties and any burdens arising from the debt would likewise be unremarkable.
It took some time, but finally Sam is recognizing the existence of Stellantis with the Citroën ë-C3, build with the first LFP battery.
Stellantis is the first that brings a sub €24.000 EV in the EU with a 300km range and 100kW charging, and build in the EU, not China.
Yes, that EV that you compared with a 100km range Dacia Spring.
The ë-C3 is over 4 meters long and a B-classe EV.
Maybe not build to the liking of people that need huge 2 metric ton behemoth to transport themselves, but for the EU, 4 meters is a normal car length.
I had pretty much written off Stellantis since it is brand of choice of the "gearheads" and rednecks and the most anti-EV groups in North America. Of course, Citroen isn't sold here, and the EC3 isn't likely to ever come to Canada because it will probably never sell in the US (and like the execs at Target, the million-dollar geniuses running the US auto industry haven't figured out that the two countries are a LOT more different than they seem).
The EC3 - if well priced - would fill a niche in Canada. In the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and BC anyway - the rednecks of Texberta and the Prairies all want to be Americans now.
12v 100 ah lithium batteries £229 now in the UK , that's almost 50% cheaper than last year 😮😊😊
that's why petrol companies are F'ED
the average price of lithium dropped by 75+% since last year.
@@tooltalk yehh, with the price drop & Black Friday, I’ve bought two for the price of one ! 😁result
The problem is always down to one thing. If the best battery is from USA, no one has an issue. But it is from China, everything about the product is being criticized. Racism exists and it gets worst in 2023 continuing to 2024 likely leading to WW3.
To be fair, if the best battery is from the USA, only Americans won't have an issue, but China certainly will.
Infact China having issue with being "behind foreign technology" is one of the main driving force behind China's development, and it doesn't take much logic to see you have to be #1 to not be "behind foreigners"
@@vlhc4642 no idea what you mean. there is only one fact: americans need to be #1 in everything; if someone else takes over them, they will destroy them with whatever it takes including WW3. It is natural for others to defend themselves with such american hegemony idea so deep in their mind. You'd better believe it cos you have it.
Hi Sam, There's a problem with your sound. Perhaps using the wrong mike?
Game changer mate 👍
Thanks!
Welcome!
Hey sam, great content, but in this video and the following day and maybe others before I haven't caught up yet, the audio quality of your voice is horrible. Did you change your microphone set up? Please try to fix that back to how good it used to be. It is kind of annoying and more difficult to listen to your videos with it more distant and muffled audio like this. thx.
sound was bad on that video, muffled
Good. hope they pull an Iacocca turn-around, Tesla need some competition in N.Amer.
Hey Viking, as you know Stellantis has its own battery company(JV) ACC. So how is the CATL deal related to that? Think you should have taken this more into account.
i always agree Sam cheers mate
I would assume the pack will come from Hungurian plant. This is going to be a win-win. The job is kept in Europe, battery Supply bottle neck is solved. And the EV price is coming down.
Joint venture in the new era. It's also 50: 50
Hi, keep ur head up, bro. The USA military was directed to convert all none combat related autos to become electric. Thanks to GM😊 interesting enough is that the cyber truck is already bulletproof.
Cybertruck and starlink is on the negotiation table
Tesla has contracts in place when needed
@fast-trackhack6637 Both starlink and Space Ex already have major contacts, why not tesla and the boring company, too
NOTHING works as well in the cold
Less fire prone!? I saw a dude putting a drill trough an LFP pouch battery and it barely did anything. He ended up making 5 or 6 holes on it and barely any reaction.
On the other hand, he put a pinhole in a NMC pouch and it blew up like a blowtorch! LFP FTW!
The battery was obviously " flat "
I expect both BYD and CATL to open factories across the world soon. Reason: every EV manufacturer, including Tesla, are buying CATL and BYD batteries, especially with with blade-type batteries.
Last thing I knew is that stellantis had a cooperation with Total to build a battery plan inEurope
This shows that western companies are starting to acknowledge that Chinese companies are the leader's in battery technology on a mass scale.
>> This shows that western companies are starting to acknowledge that Chinese companies are the leader's in battery technology on a mass scale.
@@tooltalk Inferior batteries? Have you watched the video? Have you watched any videos about CATL and BYD batteries?
What are the inferior in?
@@TricoliciSerghei : >> Inferior batteries? > Have you watched the video?
@@tooltalk Sure man, I will believe you, if you send some numbers my way.. Like a few links where I can see the greatness of Korean batteries and the bad side of China batteries. I specifically mean CATL and BYD, and about LG Chem, I know how "good" they are, GM Ultium batteries can attest to that.. I hope you understand sarcasm.
@@TricoliciSerghei >> , GM Ultium batteries can attest to that..
LFPs are already in Teslas.
I live in a cool (not cold) climate where temps routinely reach -6C in winter but have so far have seen no discernable difference in performance between the hottest and coldest days.
Do you charge your EV mainly at home or on public DC chargers? It it's the later, do you have time to precondition the battery (if your car has such feature)?
Now all they have to do is lern how to make them efficient enough to get at least the same kinds of milages that ternary batteries would give. 4-5-6 years?
Interesting development. Stellantis also recently signed a big deal with the Canadian government, which had to put up subsidies worth north of CAN$10 billion for a new battery plant in Windsor, Ontario (right across a river from Detroit, Michigan), which followed right behind an announcement for a new VW battery plant in the same region that garnered government backing worth CAN$13B. Both companies said they are aiming for the "latest" chemistry and materials in their products. Now Stellantis is making deals with CATL. This is a little confusing. It's good the government tied the subsidies to actual production from these plants. Canada does have lithium, iron and phosphate, as well as the increasingly old school nickel and cobalt.
well maybe CATL moves in there :D
The more BEV manufacturers there are the more intense they have to compete regarding the pricing, quality and features...at least as long Robotaxis don't take over and shrink the car market...because the majority of people really just wants a mode of transport that doesn't trap them in spaces with too many people.
Robotaxis will remain a fantasy until at least 2030. Think about it next time you're driving. Yes there are some very simple automatic things that you do, but there are also some fairly nuanced decisions that you have to make. That will be hard to replicate by AI.
Just announced on the U.K. news this morning that the Nissan Washington (the real one in England) car plant has received a £1billion grant to further develope the UK’s only motive battery plant to cater for the electric generation of the Nissan Juke and Qashquai.
Tying up with an unproven company... Brits are so smart... politics before development eh😂
Jai Hinduja. For those still leery of auto-combustion, it is comforting to know that LFP is probably the safest EV battery chemistry.
There’s no question that the American OEM’s have damaged both the IRA and future supply chain for EV’s in North America due to their delays! You should do a video about this! Ugh! Thank goodness that other car manufacturers such as Hyundai are proceeding full speed in North America. 😢😢😢
Afternoon mate
What about Next week?Given the history, the "Head"of stellantis could just as easily change his mind, like his undies.
3rd party batteries take alot of the profits
Now your audio is quiet and distant and all room dynamics. Your last video had blown out levels. This one has bad audio from the get. What happened? You were doing so well. Anyway ask someone to get you set up. It's time. You are big time my friend. Ask the guy from Just have a think. He will get you set up. Keep going.
Certain models of Tesla Model 3 made in Shanghai HAVE LFP blade batteries. NO?
Berlin
Elon is smart by now only using byd and calt batteries
LFP2 is the next H2? catch me up when they actually work.
They have a tradition of making the right decisions that why they are the biggest. On the other hand jaguar are making all the wrong and slowly going out of business.
I CAN TELL THEM WHERE TO STICK THE BATTERIES BECAUSE THEIR CARS WONT WORK
Its a liitle scary how powerful china is becoming
Its not because of chinese government though. Its the companies that innovate and have free reign to do so in china. Problem with US in this specific sector is too much politics. They can't do anything because of unions, the way the entire US auto industry is inexplicably tied to the government. It's why politicians hate tesla because they simply sidestep the pitfalls others can't. Ironically china's "communist" government gives more freedom of operation to its domestic battery and automotive sector compared to rest of the world, and absolutely crushes any semblance of unionization.
Problem is that Chinese government can force CATL et al to cut western automakers off after they have become dependent.
You mean like what the US government is doing now to China?
>> Problem is that Chinese government can force CATL
No, only western countries do sanctions... wake up and read
Yeah.... what a great idea!... become dependent on their technology and then you're at their mercy.
They don't have much choice, Tesla's selling in Europe with CATL's LFPs and if you sell cars with inferior batteries you won't sell many cars.
China didn't let Tesla build Shanghai giga because they're nice, Tesla had to use Chinese batteries and Tesla had to export those cars abroad. I.e. Tesla has been identified as since 2018 been used as the tool for China to take over the entire auto industry.
Most EV OEMs use multi-vendor strategy -- Stellantis also use LG and Samsung batteries for mid/high-end EVs.. CATL batteries are for low-end EVs.
@@tooltalk What is this "high end" Stellantis EV's name?
@@vlhc4642 ever heard of Jeep?
@@tooltalk Yeah, but you didn't answer my question, what's the name of this "high end" Stellantis?
Stellantis have been in denial of reality for long enough, now they are moving towards the acknowledgement phase
When natrium batterys is widly developed they will make this batterys all over the world not only in China
it will be first announced in china 😂😂😂
@@user-mj9tr3ym5tIt's already being build by CATL, BYD and if I am not wrong by Gotian, too.
@@user-mj9tr3ym5tWell, it was. CATL already made it. But now NorthVolt is also on the way to start producing them, so that's good news at least.
Yes chinas lfp patent just expired, but where do you think they got that technology and the battery factories from... they paid westerners to build them and design the batteries back then. So no china isnt technologically 20 years ahead, but they have had a few more years to create batteries at an actual mass scale. Batteries or even evs wont save their economy if it continues the way its going.
Stelantis will hit net zero 10 years early 😂😂😂
Bankrupt by 2028 for sure, then it’s up to the French taxpayer how much of the company they want to subsidise…
Terrible sound.
Stela it’s dead by the end of the decade.
What a waste.
