Yes actually. Pheonix Wright is in the bottom 3 of worst characters but he’s so broken with his glitched mechanics it doesn’t matter and his investigation mode only makes him stronger to the point of being top characters in the game

But the input isnt like a normal super you have to input a series of buttons within each other. Which a new player probably wasnt likely pulling off. (Light, Light, -> Launcher, Heavy)
The input in UMvC3 is L > L > forward > M > H tho

The Akuma you saw for most of the video was actually Shin Akuma, an extremely busted boss character. Also, the way Phoenix works is that he has multiple modes, one of which is an evidence mode where he can pick up evidence to either keep hold of or throw at the enemy. With 3 pieces of evidence and in Turnabout mode you can use the level 3 that sends the opponent to jail.

Also Wright is definitely considered one of the worst characters in the game. Depending on who you ask, he might not be the absolute worst, but he’s definitely low tier.

CHARGE CHARATERS
are characters that have special moves that require you to hold a direction for up to 2-3 seconds then hit the other direction with a button to activate that special move, normally its back forward button, or down up button.

The most amazing thing in this video are the mod showcases. They have the standard change character model like the dio and Jojo ones, but then there is venom, Ken, spider Gwen, Leon, ext. which are characters modded into the game with completely original move sets. Basically people have just straight up added new characters to the game and to this day that might just be the most amazing and impressive thing I have ever seen kidders do.

Speaking of krauser, even in the original re4 he was just shoehorned in and still fits, his is was and will always be a favorite fight of mine, but yeah he was so liked by fans that after popular demand Capcom, decided that included in the follow up game to re4, resident evil darkside chronicles they would include operation Javier which is by far my second favorite re story, but I have always felt it didn't fit his story as krauser very much survived but had a bad arm wound that made him unable to stay in the military but he says in og re4 that he joined los illuminados cause he was abandoned by the us top brass( he says so during your knife fight in re4 remake you probably missed it though) and that he lost alot of good men so he wanted to get back at the us but thats not what operation Javier in darkside chronicles told us now in re4 remake they retconned the story so that leon was trained by krauser some time after raccoon city nuking then krauser got sent to Brazil with soldiers to do operation Javier and lost his men but leon was never there

Essentially, Phoenix Wright in this game is one of the worst characters in the game, technically, due to relying on a gimmick to be effective. But if you know what you're doing and manage to work around it, like Lythero does, he can be terrifying. Not to mention, to compensate for his shortcomings, he has the strongest level 3 super in the whole game, but because of his mechanics, you have to work around his gimmicky mechanics to be able to do it
Also, this game gets modded not only with skins, but with actual characters as well. The modders pretty much take pre-existing characters and moves, and rework their models and animations to make new characters entirely, like Leon, Thanos, Krauser, Rashid, Asura, Cyclops, to name a few.
Charge characters are characters whose movesets mostly consist of charge motions for special moves (holding a direction for a bit of time, usually a second, then inputting another direction+ a button to perform certain special moves). For example, Guile's Sonic Boom command being hold back, then forward + punch (or any attack button, in the case of this game).
Also, that really fast Akuma you saw was Shin Akuma, which is a busted boss version of the character, present in some of the Street Fighter games. In this game, he deals a lot of damage, has pretty busted moves and heals, but has very crappy health (I think just as bad as Phoenix (not Wright) in this game), so one combo is enough to kill him.

Phoenix is considered one of the worst characters yeah. Given the proper setup, he's the biggest threat in the game, but if you just rush him he really struggles to get they setup.
vergil is, unironically amongst the most broken characters in the game (top 5 with morrigan (hot green haired succubus) and zero (the blond pony tail red robot guy) and magneto)
dante allows for near infinite stagger and as such zero, dante and vergil is the best team trio
So hilariously, yes, Phoenix is bottom tier.
His "gimmick" if you will, is that his stats are quite low normally, and he has to switch modes and collect evidence until he gets 3 pieces of usable evidence (unusable stuff is like greyed out or something and you can safely chuck it away), before then hitting an opponent with that "Objection" speech bubble which puts him in Turnabout mode, where his stats then get crazy high and he can do that Level 3 that takes his foes to court.
Funnily enough, everyone backing away from Phoenix like that is probably the one thing you DON'T want to do against him. I think the general counter play is to try and rush him and pressure him, not let him search for evidence. In order to prevent this a Phoenix player will typically try to use Maya (that girl with him) as cover with her barrier and ranged attacks to give him some more breathing room, as well as playing more defensively to give him the chance to collect evidence.
But also yes, Lythero is crazy good and is just flexing on these guys.
(Keep in mind I haven't played Marvel in forever, and especially nothing near competitively so please forgive any inaccuracies)

Akuma is a boss character, the final opponent in a fighting game arcade is usually the most broken busted character in the game that nobody can play unless they played a hacked version of the game. They're designed this way so you can waste quarters trying to beat them...
edit: That guy with the floating head, purple body, and missing limbs is Rayman. Rayman was trying to capitalize on the platform genre, and had some success but then Ubisoft stopped working on Rayman and kept him around as a mascot.. before replacing him with another mascot known as the Rabbids. It wasn't until recently that a series called Captain Laserhawk brought the character back and really took a darker approach with Rayman as a washed up newscaster gone rogue.
