Hello Sir, Thanks for the questions that you pose to keep the thought process running. The answer that best fits the situation is (c) 3 and 4. Inflation in my understanding is too few goods being chased by too much of disposable income. To control inflation, the RBI may try to align its actions to lower the money in circulation. Reduction in the bank rate would worsen the situation as people would not find it incentivizing to save their money in banks and hence the money in circulation would increase leading to excessive inflation than before. So (1) is ruled out. In my opinion, a reduction in the reverse repo rate would be a disaster as commercial banks will have liquidity available at a cheaper cost than before and would be willing to lend more, increasing the money in circulation and thus further increasing the inflation. So (2) is ruled out. For CRR and SLR, an increase in both would lead to lowered levels of liquidity and thus would lead to commercial banks ending up lending lesser amounts than before cumulatively. Please correct me if I am wrong at any instant. Happy to learn from my mistakes.
