- NANA - a tale of us, is a socio-political nagamese film from Nagaland, Northeast India, which was released only on DVD in 2017. It was later censored on 2019 but didn't had theatrical release. The film is directed by Tiakumzuk Aier and Produced by Aoyimti Baptist Church Youth Ministry, Dimapur, Nagaland and stars Zhokhoi Chuzu, Mengu Suokhrie, Watipongla Kichu, Bokavi Swu, Imnasenla Aier, Ariensa Longchar and Imkongchuba Longchar in lead. The entire production was locally done and most of the actors were non actors. It was the first fiction film from Nagaland to go out of the country to screened at Edinburgh Festival of Indian Films and Documentaries, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2017. Director Tiakumzuk Aier also won Golden Calton Best Director at the festival. It was also screened at Kolkata International Film Festival 2018 and Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival, 2019. It recently won Best Film under Northeast Category at Prag Cine Awards, 2021. The film tells of community, love and forgiveness through the story of a family living in rural Nagaland. The film begins at the juncture of the impending State elections and quietly leads us through events that affect its character to make certain life decisions.

Such an amazing film. I am from Assam but have watched it while am in Bangaluru now. I can understand Nagamese as I can speak Assamese as it's my state language though I am a Bishnupriya Manipuri guy. My first nagamese film which I watched. I have three very good Naga friends whom I met in Mumbai as my company colleague. It reminds me of them. So realistically portrayed. Each and everyone of the film did wonderful job. It touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Now we can say proudly that our Northeastern states are no less in making good quality films. Congratulations to all the people associated with this movie. There are lot of takeaways in this film. Thank you guys for making such a wonderful film.

This is the first Nagamis movie i had ever watched....i really love it...emotional heart touching and even brought tears in my eyes....i would like to thank the whole cast for making such wonderful movie.

Not only were the acting and cinematography spectacular, but the message behind it was spot on! That it's on the citizen's sincerity in their votes, which determines how you get treated by the government. Stop complaining and blaming the government for everything. Blame yourselves for voting incompetent ministers. This goes out to all the city dwellers in Imphal, and also for the hill dwellers who complain about the government allegedly being biased towards developing only the main city, taking the side of Meiteis. Also, I couldn't help but notice the resemblance of celebrating the winning of election and the celebration when the drug lord, Lukhosei Zou was released. Kudos to this Nagamese Movie! Never ceases to amaze me! Brilliance is what it is!
