- This is BY FAR the easiest method I have tried, AND the fastest way to take down pallets. Fairly inexpensive considering the amount of free wood involved. Buy YOURS at this amazon store front
www.amazon.com...
Thanks so much, this is great. I'm setting up my off grid living space and want to reuse and recycle as much as possible. This will make taking the pallets apart a lot easier. Thanks. Love your channel. I'm learning a lot and I need a lot of help! Thanks again.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Try doing both ends and leave the middle until last. That way the whole board doesn't lift up when you do the last end.
Wow that tool will work perfect for me .I have a job this spring on my house to remove 1 by 6 boards on the roof and replace with zip plywood .Thank u sir for posting this u probably saved me at least a week worth of work
There is a shorter version available for roofwork made by Roughneck.
thanks for the video and showing me how - i was using mine all wrong lol
thankyou brother ...fricking life saver dont know why i didnt think of this ..going to knock one up tomorrow ...get some fitness into your self my friend you deserve to live a long life ..im a bit the same way ha ha ha cheers bro
I seen one at Menards that I'm going to go pick up tonight cuz I'm going to start building a bar out of pallets. 👍
Just to imporve the way to do it, keep the center for last. It will be easier .
That is exactly what I was about to say.
I have used a few different types of these pallet breakers and have found that much the best of them is the one with the swivel end. It always lines up with the underside of the board and so less power is needed to use it and there less breaking of the board as the stress is equal across it.
Any chance of a link to it? Could take forever trying to find that not to mention there may be some good & some not so good that are "swivel". Thanks mate.
@@newsviewstoday5689 I’m sorry I can help with your exact search, all I can recall is seeing it advertised somewhere. But if you choose your search words carefully I’m sure you’ll find it without much trouble. Good luck !
DIY Daddy, hows the pallet ripper holding up over the years? I see a lot of reviews on some that are not good.
Even I at 75 years young can do this KEEP IT SIMPLE SILLY method!
I just got my pallet tool which will save me so much time and will save so many boards from cracking
I cleaned up all the parts of a pallet using the hand method and made a bran new pallet, my trucker friend uses it to this day on his trips.
Im late to see this video was taking some apart and thought there has to be a better way glad to have seen your video
bought that from ebay too. made it super easy to disassemble pallets.
This product would be great for me but none for sale right now. I get solid oak pallets (runners & top boards) from work. 4x6 runners and 3/4 top boards take a lot of sawing! It makes great free campfire wood!
looking for this tool. what was the date that they were not available.
@@chitownholmes plenty of them on amazon. just search pallet ripper or pallet buster.
You might try taking the end up first and do the center last, it might prevent the wobble.
They make an air powered tool that will punch those nails out of the boards once you have the pallets ripped apart.
Great video thank you!
Do you still use the ripper?
Oh ya, forgot another tip, no matter which method you use, always soak a pallet with water over night, makes the process easier. GB, TC, & TY.
What a waste of time
I have the pallet buster but finding the right sz metal pole for handle that NOT aluminum is impossible here where I live.
Great tool for pallets
Wow, that was just like magic. I'm impressed how easy it is to reclaim pallet wood. Now what do you do with all those short pieces of lumber? Next time get someone to run the camera so all the work is captured on tape.
I use most of the lumber to build things like garden planters and other small projects. Made a treasure chest for my daughter with some of it as well. Its also great for summer campfires lol. Thanks for watching!
Thank you😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Nice. But can ya make a pallet fall apart without tools? Stand pallet up on one corner like a diamond shape then bang on ground then one another back and forth till loosened, then stand pallet up on one end and rock back and forth increasing motion each time till pallet falls apart (may require a slight kick on one end of the slat from time to time. Pull/pry nails as needed. BTW: the reciprocating method - use punch tool on small nail bits still left in slats.
Do it, film it and let us know
I do that quite often when I pick them up. Some of the larger ones don't fit into my hatchback but I really want good wood so that's what I do. Really doesn't take to much time and I am a woman.
At least, this is more reasonable, thanks for sharing. Happy pallet dismantlement day.
Also, do you think its possible to tie 3 of those disassemblers together with pipes so you could technically pry up 3 areas of the pallet at once? I want to call it a pallet disassembly rake?
Lol
Hi a great tool how do the detachable head type like you have compare with the fixed ones you see on EBay on Amazon there are the heads but no poles. Admirer from UK
I'm not sure, this was the first one I tried. Thanks for watching!
Moose a simple and easy nail remover is a 8 or 10 inch length of rebar, with a center drilled hole that its about 2 or 3 inches deep you put that over the nail (has to be out of the wood) and you put the rebar with hole on the nail and hit with a hammer, nail comes out on other end or raises enough to be pulled saving the wood for later reuse. questions contact me. dave
Make a video! I have no idea what you are describing.
A picture is worth a thousand words
Concept & execution understood; however, how deep should the hole be drilled, and why not extend your idea to that of a slide hammer to deliver the blow.....
Removing the nail is often the MOST labour-intensive part of disassembly. Some videos have shown some sort of "bit" one can attach to a drill (air....) which grips the nail and spins it out....??? No hammer-pulling required.....
Do you know what this tool is....or how to make it?
Hi, when you say you bought at your hadware store a "pipe" to use as the handle, what kind of pipe are we talking about ??? And is yours still ok, I mean did it resist the pressure ??? Or do we need to use a metal rod ??? Thank's for taking the time to answer my question :)
Black pipe
I'm sure you can find awesome woodworking plans on stodoys website
Nice video. Seems a nice guy
Thank You, Good to know!
maybe do the ends before the middle would stop them lifting up
Making 1 tomorrow!
I did this with 3 pieces of 2x4 and my foot and it took about 2 hours 😂😂
I followed your link but nothing appears in the ebay store, what is the tool called? Thanks for the info
huh, they must have closed up shop since the video was posted...
I got mine from CTS welding, 39065 CR 388 Bloomingdale,MI,49026
Nice. But step on the board so the end doesent always lift up on you :)
Aren't you the moose scrapper channel ownee
indeed! SOme things do not fall under the category of scrapping so I threw this channel together
@@DIYDaddy cool
Don how long of a ptpe did you use for the handle
I used 5 foot section for more leverage
Awesome!
Looks good to me !
Wear safety boots while splitting pallets, cause sooner or later you're going to step on a nail.
Pretty interesting tool :)
It might work better if you do the two ends first and then the middle
Good old Archimedes.
great. i went there, but no products for sale
search pallet ripper or pallet buster on amazon
O.o wooow amazing i need that
Easy as pie. So what more could you ask for.
Pie?
Oh fuck ya I'm buying one now
Didnt see tool n your page
We're is the pallet
Should start outside then do the middle
Lol this is no more than a wrecking bar!
What is the width between the two jaws? Also give length of Jaws
Cool
Do outside first then center
How much would you sell me one for
Did you ever figure out how to remove the nail fragments from using a sawzaw?
pry both ends, then the middle.
Well that works sweet
Looks easy to make but not orange!
Aka moose the scrapper
Great tool but I don't think you could do it in 2 minutes, 5 atleast.
Just a simple lever
Nail removal
Nail remover gun by air locker...best ever tool for taking nails out of pallets....can remove 9 nails in one board in under 30 seconds
Woodglut plans are amazing!
if it takes under 2...why the 7 minute video ??????
because I don't shut up.....
@@DIYDaddy gots to make them RUclips Benjamin's!😂thanks...
Wrong shoes dude!
but, the video is 7 minutes?
its a fucking advert really, some have screws and tough nails with ribs in
Dude, your a fucking advert! An advert for why everyone should wear a condom!
ouch.... It is kind of an advert, but not paid or biased. I often wonder how well something will work before I buy it and I personally find videos like this helpful. Its not for everyone... And yes it does work well on screws, and nails of all types. With 5 feet of leverage I have not found a pallet yet that I cant take apart fast and with minimal to no breaking or cracking of the planks. Thanks for watching!
The title literally says how to take apart a pallet with a pallet ripper. What did you expect
