To commence with, I must, firstly, convey my heartiest and indebted thanks to Mr Sayan Acharya for presenting such an incredible rendition by Pandit Nikhil Bandapadhyay.
Now, moving on to the individualist part of the context, it should not be ignored that presently, we rarely do get the opportunity to hear, rather, feel absorbed in such quality and complete musical renditions by the present day's classical exponents, barring the greats, such as Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Ustad Rashid Khan Sahib, the incomparable Kaushiki Chakraborty Deshikan and a few others, because they mostly miss out such intensive and inherent raaga interpretations or explorations within their patterns of performances as they do not have such fathomless depth of either knowledge or credibility of rendering their performances in Indian Classical Musical style, unlike the said great maestro. However, in this version of his presentation of Raaga Charukeshi, Pandit Ji, has gradually but spontaneously unfolded the characteristics, beauty, emotion and aroma, that is, its identity of the raaga itself, while following and continuously maintaining the grammatically, systemically and analytically structured path of the development of the blossoming out the full blooming raaga. This is the most phenomenal presentation, by one of the stalwarts, as the great Pandit Ji is, of the North Indian Classical Music greats, that I've ever heard of.

Well said ji🙏🙏 it really is true that today's artists are not able to present or to say bloom the raaga's beauty in a slow but meditative method

Unethical practice of you tube. They r getting free uploads which r then downloaded without any processing to improve the sound. And they r making money from advertisers by interrupting the music. Totally dishonest and unethical

This is the best Charukeshi from Nikhil Babu I have heard. The deep unfolding of morning is unmistakable. The flowing tabla of Abhijit Babu complements the mood development laudably.
Thanks for sharing this, Mr Acharya.

Since Raga Charukeshi is basically a South Indian Clasdical Raga, its adaptation in North Indian Classical Music as classical melody of a morning Raga is apparently very difficult. The exqusite presentation of Pt Nikhil Banerjee is beyond any comment except as outstanding in creating an ambience of the morning through his rendition of playing his instrument of Sitar. Ut Amir Khan Saheb has rendered this Raga in his vocal performance in a similar manner which is also outstanding . The comparison of other musicians of classical category of modern days is unnecessary in this context. The depth and mood and melody of Indian clasiical music is so intense that it cannot be achieved easily by rendering cheap performance thereof publicly to attain mere publicity. Even so called stalearts called as such ,are not able to create such a divine ambience among the listeners as they used to be inclined more on receiving cheap public appreciation in the form of clapping as is normal in case of Western Audience.
