Mendelssohn - Die Hebridean . This is such a wonderful presentation by Andres’ Orozco-Estrada.with Sinfonieorchester.
This is one of my favourite pieces of music. Mendelssohn was such a Maestro to compose this wonderful piece from another country and depict it so well.
I live in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and am proud to listen to such a great composition such as this, so well done. I’ll continue to enjoy this great work by such a genius of a composer. Well done !!! ...

This is one of the rare pieces of music that evoke images in my mind. Of all the interpretations I have listened to (all I found on youtube. Of course, not exhaustive), I like this one best. Strings, winds and percussion are well-balanced, the different layers of the music are distinguishable but make for a whole, the tempi and dynamics are well chosen and done. Very convincing and delightfull. More power to this delightful orchestra, Mr Orozco-Estrada and -last, not least- the sound people who recorded this!

I always knew what this landscape must look like, long before I finally decided to Google it and see photos. And it's more than just pictures, I can feel the wind, smell the sea when hearing this music. Absolute genius. This recording supports these impressions especially well. Not rushed just painting the landscape into the air.

Bravo !

Yes, this is an absolutely superb performance, one of the very best I've heard, and probably my second favorite now that I've heard it. But maybe it's just what I'm used to as I have it on CD and have listened to it more than a few times, but I think I like Szell a little better, it's got a fuller tone, richer texture, better depth and balance of tone, and it's played more evenly tempo-wise, but still with rubato and not overly dry or mechanical in any way.

@@miketackabery7521 You'e kind to respond. I wonder if we can somehow weight how Mozart felt in his compositional mental world as compared, say, to Mahler. Or Schumann. Oder Herr Mendelssohn. This particular recording is exquisite completely.

Divine? Splendid? Marvelous? Wonderful? Beautiful? The corpse of an orchestra( not their guilt) performs Mendelssohn boring, greasy, uninspired and sluggish (the conductors guilt? Hell yeah!) Do not waste your time and better listen e.g. to Takashi Asahinas gorgeous and sweeping 1956 live performance with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra! I really love the Frankfurt Radio Symphony but this rendition is poor!
