I passed by the stadium at around noon that day as I was.exiting IKEA... temp was 101F. I could not believe there were people sitting in the sun with no shade at that time of day, given the conditions. What's even harder to believe is that there was a football game taking place on synthetic turf! Ugh!
I watched the game on TV. It wasn't long before the spectators sought refuge in the concourse/shaded areas. But can someone please explain to me why the stadium facility manager felt the need to turn on the stadium field lights, during the whole game?
Looks like Levi's Stadium up here in the Bay Area. One person died of heat stroke it's opening day. People up here hate that stadium, absolutely no shade.
Simple answer would be "no day games" in September for the Aztec's. Far from resolves summer events for other venues other than stick to night scheduling only.
Thank you and well said. #1, if the school cannot afford to build a roof or any sort of section to provide shade during day games then the best option is NOT to schedule day games during the warm weather months in SD. how difficult is that? I imagine the faculty in charge of building the stadium had shades suites, private seats in the shade and were oblivious to the extreme heat. PATHETIC!
I was there. The stadium is very nice, but there are absolutely issues that need to be addressed. Took us 1 hour to get into the parking lot, then we had to wait outside in the uncovered blazing heat for another hour just trying to get in past security and ticketing. Once inside, there was little to no shade to escape the heat. Adjustments need to be made.
The stadium was solely designed and funded by SDSU. The city of San Diego had nothing to do with it. Do your research before humiliating yourself online.

@@wesrm1 yea but i said i feel bad for u living in SD i know it needs canopies
Great idea to built a brand new Stadium in Southern California without a roof or major shade

Do you want me to get my sister to fix it for you?
And fix the ticket prices.
Seems management could have sprung for some temporary water mists and overhangs.
apparently it “wasn’t in the budget” when architects asked to put up shade
Aztecs were in black uniforms in THAT heat..? Arizona was in All White..! Big Advantage for Arizona..!
Sounds like it’s not the stadium. It was the once in a decade extreme heatwave. SD has the best weather in the world
Not only SD has the best weather in the world. /
Once in a decade? This heat will get worse next year and the year after that etc rtc
Sounds like poor foresight for a Southern California stadium to not have shade…
I'd like to inform you that 12 months = 1 year, not a decade.
It was 100 degrees the same day just two years prior.
Home of the engineers
Oops....forgot about the sun ! No awning other the seating. That looks miserable.....
NO OVERHANG????🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
Should’ve built a dome or at least overhangs that cover the fans. How many college football teams play their home games in an indoor facility?
Why build a dome when SD has some of the best weather year round in the entire world?
Profits over common sense engineering. Maybe SD is cursed on sports…..
Ever since the charges left
@@s_photo1385 chargers never won anything the curse was on before
Haha what a rinky dink stadium. Certainly an upgraded high school field.
this sounds like a nightmare 😭😭😭 this stadium is terrible
horrible horrible architectural design! F!
Simple solution. Night games.
F@ck that!!!!!
Night games this time of year!
San Diego literally can’t do anything right. What complete joke!!

Would never have this complaining in a SEC game. Lol
Nah. Not no place. Not “no place.” /
