- We could not find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint. The problem is common among users who have recently upgraded to Windows 11. And the worst thing about this error is that it appears in those systems as well that support Fingerprint recognization. The issue also prevents users from modifying the fingerprint settings. Nevertheless, there’s nothing to worry about if you also see the same error message. Just try the solutions to get rid of the problem.

If face driver folder is not showing than try this "Before clicking on windows, below that an option named windows.old option will be there, just click on that and repeat the same process, click system 32 and so on and here you will find the face driver folder, simply copy that folder and paste it in the folder where you couldn't find and do whatever this man said in the video.
Now I don't even see Windows.old ... This is stressful

Windows.old folder creates if you update windows 10 to windows 11 only
I could not find gpedit, but I followed the steps up until that point. After a couple of reboots, the fingerprint functionality miraculously returned. Thank you!

but after opening winbio plugins, i couldnt find the facedriver plugin

My Biometric shows both Face and Fingerprint, but the Fingerprint has a Hazard sign on it and the Properties state: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). The Update wont actually find any updates for the driver. I am reluctant to finish the steps on the video as that might not fix the issue.

you didn't mention in your whole video how and where to SCAN the finger? Scan finger somewhere on our laptop OR some other scanner we need to use to scan our finger?
Unfortunately these steps didn't fix this issue on my HP EliteBook 830 G6 laptop with Windows 11 ver 23H2 (64 Bit). Installing the fingerprint driver via the HP website also doesn't help.

when we brought an item we plugged it in switched it on and it worked. Now whenever we buy something we have to work out the complex riddle to get it to work. this is a lack of good programming. Shame on the modern sales crooks.

@@Kripa027 You can go to your boot settings and there you will get an option regarding your fingerprint sensor. Just turn it on I have also done the same

My fingerprint reader is working but when laptop is in lock screen then fingerprint automatically detects some touch without any finger touch and lock screen never turns off...

Windows 11 home edition doesn't have the gpedit.msc option. I fixed my issue by going to device manager, biometric devices, right clicking on fingerprint driver, then selecting disable device, and then enable device again, n restart computer.

This video didn't help my case at all. way too many steps for a simple fix.
For anyone else that had a problem with this tutorial all I did to fix my issue was just restart my computer and the fingerprint sign in came back as an option on my laptop.
my main issue with this video, like the other ones I saw prior is going into the "Run system" and either the 'Biometric' options weren't on my computer or the programs on the Run system didn't exist. I really wish the Dislike button wasn't removed from viewers of RUclips. now we can only assume if a tutorial is worthwhile or not based on the views to like ratio a video has.

@@techwhite The HP desktop that I have is a Windows 10 with administrator password and it is not windows 7. Thank you for your fast answers. I also have a thumb drive with 8GB but is write protected, I already tried the cmd - disk part and regedit to change it to zero but still it does not work
The only way to remove administrative password is you have to install a New windows 10
