I absolutely LOVE how a few weeks or however long ago you were like "I'm going back to old Joey! No more of these one off projects!" We were like "yeah, thats exactly what your loyal viewers want" Joey: "I don't care what you say! I'm going back!" Us: "Yeah man.. we like that style better too, we've been agreeing." Joey:*does it* Us: *goes wild* 😂 you are the king of not only DIY, but fishkeeping. I've learned so much from your random ideas and journeys. Never, EVER think you are obligated to do something for your channel. You do you, just do you, that's why we're all here. To learn and absorb that magnificent brain content you hold. Keep doing what you're doing😁
After finding you on TikTok, I absolutely love this style of video, but then I went back and watched some of your older videos and loved that style... honestly, I think you could make comic book content if you wanted and people would still watch. You're entertaining regardless the content!
Love what you’re doing with the breeding Joey! Although I definitely think you should go back to doing biotope style tank with the discus tank, like a river tank, hill stream loaches/exotic loaches white clouds, river pebbles that sort of thing! Would definitely be different to all your other tanks
Loving hiw that water fall looks on the pond!! You sneaking that in just oh let me clean my tank hahah! Want a video update on how the koi survived the winter and how big they are now? Once again a cool video love how the blue pops now in the white background
I have always loved your videos. Always very informative. Got to go to sleep now. It's 2:15 in the morning here in the Philippines. Just saying hi and thank you.
Such a massive fan love your videos and can't wait to see where this adventure goes. @kingofdiy keep the content coming. Love the fact you've gone back to the old joey
The plastic Bio media you are looking for, I found some at tropical Gems in Barrie Ontario- Not sure if they had large, but remember thinking "hey that's the stuff Joey used" haha
I'm going cobalts, because if they don't give you babies after the effort you've put in 👊 once you get fry from both pairs would you consider crossing them to see how the babies from cobalt male, parrot blood female, and vice versa, would differ
I have some vampire crabs, cool little dude's and a good clean up crew. You need a good size tank though, they are teratoriel little dude's. Had one somehow jump out of the tank the other day, got past the lid and all 🤣. He was running around the kitchen until I got him.
Hear me out, I saw a video of an aquarium with a tower but inside the tank, similar to those turtle holes you see in big aquariums but this one's for a cat so they can put their head through and look at the fish from inside, it looked hilarious and like something you would build!
Joey I need your diy help with a tank. It is a marine land deep dimension 175. It needs new frames and I can find them what should I do. The frame dimensions are 48 long by 36 wide. Help please
You're in the same spot as me. Lololol I found a pair in my big 220 tank. I pulled them out and put them in a separate tank. They laid eggs but the eggs calcified and baaaam they dissapeared. So now I'm messing around with the PH and water Seamens to find the right balance. Lololol It's trial n error. Cheers
One thing I use to do is use a 1inch glass vase. Take a cotton swab or 2 and push down about a half inch or inch and they will lay on the side, then carry them to the cotton swab until they will swim freely
I would love a nano aquarium with just Red Sakura Shrimps. With a beautiful aquascape. In that regard, you could do some nano projects because it would relate to us who cant have massive ones
I think the pigeon bloods will give you viable fry first good luck either way! I hope they both give you viable fry at the same time that would be fun 😜
I work with paint and glass at work. A flat, single edged razor blade will be the quickest and easiest way to get the paint off the glass. The plastic though, you're on your own. Lol
@@sergtv6907 he explained why the sterile tank which I understand will help the fry but not why they the parents wont eat the eggs in this tank when they was in a natural one.
Joey not sure if you read your comments anymore. Been following you for years now. I originally started following you for your aquarium building videos. I know you have done a lot but I have a challenge for you. I really want a redsea reef tank. As you may know they are very expensive. I can't afford one. Sooo would love for you to attempt to make a replica of one . I'm sure it would make a good series . That would be awesome!
I'm not convinced that discus breeding tanks need to be painted white. My 120 gallon discus tank I painted a blotchy camouflage dark and olive green, tank also has 7 branches of driftwood, there is a 3 inch thick river sand bottom and 2 sponge filters. My pair have 22 fry. It's been 6 weeks and I haven't lost a single fry. I 'think this might be because even if they wander off they can find food, be it on the driftwood or glass. Granted it could be luck, but I also have a 75 gallon in my bathroom painted with same paint and driftwood - there are too many fry to count in with their parents, but after 4 weeks their numbers have not appeared to decline at all. I think the colour of the tank means very little, that they have a stable environment and a place where they can hide their babies away seems more important ... well to mine it seems to be the case.

Buddy didn’t get the lil heart from Joey 😕
Yawn
@Nathan McCann well said beast
@Tanked Upattempt at humour.... yawnnnnnn
Lovin these old school Joey vids! Just some discus breeding and some messy DIY. 💪
Love this kind of content, bro. Back to basics, classic and old school DIY just like in the beginning! Cheers 🍻

The King of DIY is back!!!!
The fluidized tank looks awesome btw. A clear tub, and leave it as it is. It's kinda mesmerizing.
lol put the candles set the mood!!!
So glad you’re back to discus. Great move Mr M

Your moving bed filter in the cylinder aquarium looks amazing! I would love to see a dedicated video on that when you are ready.

Cobalts vs Pigeon bloods makes me think of Montagues vs Capulets haha! My money’s on the Cobalts. Great video!

Would love to keep seeing stuff lile this super cool and loving the discus👍👍👍🖤
You can also get a weighted base at a hardware that fits on pvc perfectly
I use those for my diy sponge filters
I was so inspired by your discus, that I aquired 7 babies about 2 inch to grow out.
The plastic Bio media you are looking for, I found some at tropical Gems in Barrie Ontario- Not sure if they had large, but remember thinking "hey that's the stuff Joey used" haha
Love discus so eagerly waiting for this series! Go the blueys!🇦🇺❤️
Another great video! Alittle diy and of course your Discus breeding knowledge!
This is the old joey content again good job
Love the video format my heart is with the blue guy’s so beautiful but either will be great, Stay Safe & ty💗
Joey you know how long I was waiting for this vid😅🤣🤣
I love these types of vids, joey!

love this video from the recent. Keep going!
You got me inspired to breed discus now
Get some battery powered candles for ambiance 🤣
Have you ever used anoxic filtration? With a BCB basket?
When the gallery is rockin, don’t come a knockin. Lol
They do make candles with LEDs in them.
That’s awesome to know how to breed discuss. I say the cal bolts will breed first.
Love your videos… all the way from Costa Rica
I don't even keep fish anymore but soon as joey goes all classic and Discuss are involved am all in 🤣
This is So fun, the red guys first babies! I hope you get a high price for all of them.
Joey, have you ever experimented with vampire crabs or hermit crabs? That would be a cool project.

Been awhile since I viewed this early. Looking forward to seeing how this goes. Fired Up!!!
My bet is on the pigeon bloods.
Love the videos Joey!

Wouldn't the darkest thing in the discus tank be the black sponge filter? Any risk of the fry sticking to those instead of the parents?

Thumbs up I enjoy all your videos ideas Thank for sharing.
Beautiful colours on all 4 gonna be some beautiful babies

Have you ever gotten dart frogs?
range tds of your water? to breed its prefer soft water or hard?
Have you ever considered Matala mat in your diy filters? It's used alot in pond situations.
Thanks for going back to your roots....
Love your videos ❤️
That heat gun looks like the Canadian tire special, on sale now actually!
Does anybody know if jack dempsy feed the fry there slime coat because I had some babies and they were eating the slime coat off the male and female
You’re the best bro!
What is your Ph in your water or do you use RO?
I would love to breed wild form discus, but my water is very hard and high pH.
I don't recall if he's mentioned the pH, but has a well he runs everything off of (could you imagine the cost/time to generate that much RO? Heh.)
Beautiful pairs ☺️
I'm lovin the HD 60 FPS quality. Makes me feel like I'm there. Lol

Does anyone know what kind of fish feed off from parents apart from Discus?
the little alcove you mentioned putting candles in , put a GoPro in it facing the tank . start a onlyfans for the discus
I think the blue will have babies first since they have their own romantic room 😁
Best of luck to you. I have 3 breeding pairs myself, one seperated. But mine are all mixed colors. Wisch they would be matching colors.
The legendary red vs. blue rivalry!
Discus, Uaru, and what’s the other species of fish that fry feed on the parents mucus? Awesome video!
Think the pigeon bloods should also go into a breeder tank for all the reasons you mentioned. Plus think they'd really pop in an all white tank
I would love a nano aquarium with just Red Sakura Shrimps. With a beautiful aquascape.

Hey Joey how are your octopus doing? haven’t seen anything on them for about three months?
He re homed them before he lost his sanity 🤣
I'm interested in some red or blue discus if u sell some tks
I think the pigeon bloods will give you viable fry first good luck either way! I hope they both give you viable fry at the same time that would be fun 😜
Make sure to cycle the tank with Love Potion Number 9 to give it a good start
The blue discus look are givin off the vibe. They're gonna make babies first.
I work with paint and glass at work. A flat, single edged razor blade will be the quickest and easiest way to get the paint off the glass. The plastic though, you're on your own. Lol
How will the sterile tank stop them from eating the eggs compared to the natural tank?
No hate just interested.
He said why around 5 mins in
@@sergtv6907 he explained why the sterile tank which I understand will help the fry but not why they the parents wont eat the eggs in this tank when they was in a natural one.
lol candles... excellent videos 👍😎

I’m thinking pidgeon bloods but I have no idea about discus.
Thank you Joey ♓💋💋
Should look at dip or plasti dip it's peelable spray paint easy on easy off.
I love hearing the "Canadian accent " on the internet . We sound so innocent .
0:35 he look funny, like he saying hell no. 😂
WHY wouldnt you spray on the lawn your running the deck lol
Joey were the Koi fish at!

Discus JoJo back in action!
I love the blue ones I hope they breed first
Good Job
Blue Team!
i know where there is containers full of that media left at a abandoned fish plant on vancouver island :) im talking truck loads lol
Put a camera on the discus and do a time lapse till they breed
You need remles tank transparent selecon
Wouldn’t that be a breeding cylinder? Not a breeding cone?
The blue discus.
So you dont have a heater inside
I hear the entire gallery.
@@thekingofdiy damn you must have some big ears 😁
